  2. If you do go to GSF take it out the box before you leave the counter and check for the VW logo and part number stamped on the plastic bit on the top... if it has one then it is genuine if not either check another or walk away and go to VW/TPS
  3. HIC seem to be doing good things at the moment... make sure you mention you found their details on this forum. Got quoted over £700 to insure the G... phoned them and they came back an hour later with £430 fully comp and im relatively young compare to some on here :D
  4. does the rack come with the universal joint as both parts are starting to complain a little on mine

  6. Hi guys I have just managed to get my hands on a 13 row oil cooler for my G60. Should i run a thermostat sandwich plate or just a normal sandwich plate. Thoughts and or experiences please
  7. Spent the afternoon giving it a good wash and polish. The pics speak for themselves really and a quick clean up inside too
  8. Not sure what caused the issue... still get a few odd sounds but think its the lower ball joints that need doing next... will pair them with new track rod ends and that will be all the suspension components front and read replaced :)
  9. I have a full set of these removed from my car when i fitted a front mount intercooler
  10. Changed my topmounts and droplinks yesterday. The guy who did them decided to remove my struts to do it which put all my camber and tracking out. Had a word with the garage that did it and the owner let me come in today when they were closed and rectify it. Didnt use any laser alignment rig... old school camber jig and tracking irons... got the camber bang on 0 degrees and both wheels at 0 degree track never had it handle so well, no pulling on the road, no ARB knocking :) will probably never use 4 point alignment again going to get myself the jigs required and do it myself in the garage. another lesson learned about letting garages do work... the guy who did it wasnt even going to tell me that i had to get my camber re-done :( even got the labour costs refunded too
  11. Find out the diameter of the rubber pipes and go to GSF they sell various pipes in 1 meter runs... replace the metal pipe if its damaged with same size bent copper pipe... much cheaper
  12. Absolute chaos down here. Queues of 100 plus cars at all the stations I have been past. Glad I filled up Monday, will do me 2 weeks if I behave
  13. the 'metalic' looking oil may be the kluber grease they put in the displacer when the charger is serviced. I would keep an eye on it if after the run in period it is still doing it and it looks like engine oil then i would be concerned.

  16. cheers for the comments guys... it doesnt look as good when you get up close due to the amount of stone chips in the front. Still look loads better than when i bought it the paint was so dull and had cobwebs in everything... think it had been sat up for a while. It has taken me the best part of a year to get it to where it is now and considerably more money than i paid for it... all being said the running problems have all been ironed out and damaged trim parts all replaced so it now does look pretty respectable compared to a few i have seen around by me. Adbul i will get some more pics up soon as i take them.

    Do you know the size and pitch of the thread? Or atleast what size Allen key is used on them
  18. 9k on the clock?? What interior? Leather? Recaro? AC or not? What engine??
  19. I have 195s on the front and 205s on the rear. The rims are 9 wide all around so there is more stretch on the fronts although that will change when the fronts are worn a bit more. Going to put 205s on there too.
  20. We do go to tidy every now and then we get all different VAG cars turning up. Got one guy with so very interesting ideas on how to tune a rado... he has a N/A VR putting out 220/230 with no internal mods, just tweaked cam timing and a remap and a 1.8 valver bored to 2.1 running on bike carbs running 197 at the wheels!!! and a couple of other rados that come most weeks. we usually go to a different pub each week although the bakers arms is our most regular place
  21. ill try and get some pics over the next couple of days to show exactly where the issues lie although the other pics already here do show the same issues as mine with the ARB sitting very close to the wishbones on both sides of the car

  23. theres a meet tomorrow night at the fighter pilot in oakdale me and a few mates meet up most weeks always a couple or rados there. i regularly see 4 or 5 different ones there
  24. sorted my idle issue turned out to be the hose running from intake manifold to the isv, it was closing when it got warm in the bay causing the isv to pulse and send the revs nuts
  25. Think i spoke too soon!!! I appear to have developed a misfire since this morning. I had a new coil dissy and cap not even a month ago... Will have to look at leads when i get a chance tomorrow, I have a spray can at the ready to see if i can find any arcing... if that doesnt work then im either looking at plugs or injectors
