  1. Just got a quote for £188 fully comp with a £50 excess and legal cover for my VR. Limited mileage but who cares at this price. They have seriously undercut every quote which I have had :D :D :D :D :D :D :D .

sounds good, very good... whats your age, no claims if you dont mind me asking??[/quote:1flou31b]

Over 40 with max no claims, a couple of non fault accidents in the past 3 years.

  2. Hi,

Can you fit mine in too? I've got 5 with no tyres attached. I can drop very early Saturday morning as I'm only in worthing.

They should fit, although I will need to check how many wheels will fit into the back of a mk2 Golf.

Andy are you leaving your tyres on?

    martin,

just had my mot this morning and its gona need: brake compensator valve seized, hand brake inoperable on drivers side and may need a new caliper, exhaust has multiple leaks and a crack in the centre box, rear brake lines are badly corroded and it needs some spring washers for the rear suspension, probably looking at around the £300 mark... :( :( :(

so my wheels are going to have to wait for another month, im really sorry to mess you around martin, i really wasnt expecting it to fail on these things, knew the exhaust was a problem but not everything else.. hope this doesnt cause too much of a problem.

    my apologies again.[/quote:7a737xv7]

No worries Andy. Good luck with the repairs :)

Shaun G60 - I will still probably make the trip up to BJV as I need to get my wheels done ASAP. You are more than welcome to bring them round to mine, although it may be just as cheap to deliver them tho BJV yourself.

  3. So, does anyone know what The Wheel Specialist in Fareham is like. They do paint centre caps to match wheels, but they are more expensive. Does anyone have any knowledge of them? Failing that, anyone else recommend somewhere else?

    Cheers,

    Tony (tbvr6)

I have only made enquiries with them. They were V expensive, although they invited me to come and have a look at thier work when I mentioned BJV :)

  5. no probs martin, just thought it may be a bit cheaper if i get your buddy to take them off and refit them after, obviously im happy to pay him.. just its £30 more to have them taken off and put back on again at bjv..

what time you thinking of leaving next sat?

I could probably get the tyres taken off for a bit less, but it would mean a trip over to mine during the week as he doesn't work on Saturdays. I'll probably set off at 08:00 - 08:30 as I only just made it last time I went up. I'll drop you a pm with my details if the time is OK?

  6. I need a set of 17" BBS RX doing...one of them has a flat spot on the inside of the rim :mad2:

How would I get my wheels down there for the group refurb tho?

    Cheers

    Sukh

It may be best if you deal with them directly and mention that you are from the forum. You may get a better rate if you drop the wheels in yourself :) They have repaied a set of BBS's which I was going to bin as they were that bad, They came back like new :D

  7. Right! I have spoken to BJV and they will do at least 15% if you pay by cash to cut down thier admin costs. They will consider a bit more discount once they have assessed each set of wheels for any work which may be involved. Please mention the Forum :norty:

So who wants to take thier wheels up next week. I plan to do a run there next Saturday morning :)

martin im more then happy to go with you next saturday so long as ive got the cash.. will need to get my tyres taken off first though, will your buddy be able to do it?[/quote:1wm2tv4e]

    Andy,

You usually pay on collection so it will give you a bit more time to get some funds together. My mate will be able to remove your tyres or it may be best to get BJV to do the job as they will refit them too. It' will be a fairly early start as I think they shut at midday sharp! It's only me and you coming from this area at the moment so they should all fit in my car OK.

  9. Im still going to get them done by the but I have to sort it asap as I was forced off the road by a truck and busted a winter wheel my cars running on at the moment. Its going to have to be this saturday morning and waiting is not an option for me. Sorry. Still there standard prices are still very good.

Bad news they are shut this Saturday as it is bank hols :(

  10. I have edited the first post to include details of all those who have expressed an interest. Please can you confirm your interest and provide me with the info (see p1) which I need to get a quote from BJV.

Delivery and collection may be possible if you are en route or are prepared to get the wheel to PO8 post code. I'll let this run for another week, or slightly longer if needed

  11. I live near Fleet in Hampshire and I have a set of BK Racing BK850s that I am thinking of getting refurbished. I was thinking of using BJV, when I saw this thread. Any discount would be a plus as there standard rates are pretty good.

The wheels are currently without tyres, but I would get tyres from blackcirlcles and then get BJV to fit and balance them. So, if there are any group buy offers, I might well be interested in joining in.

    Cheers,

    Tony

What size are the wheels and do you want std finish?

  12. just a shameless plug for a friends buisness... they are v good... :D

Any chance of looking into mates (Forum Members) rates :) ????

depending on a few commitments saturday morning i'm hoping to get down there so i will talk to andrew and hopefully post on here over the weekend with what he says 8)

Nice one. Much appreciated :) I've just pulled apart my split rims, so I'm ready to go......

I reckon I could take about 8 sets of wheels if anyone wants to get thiers done? I will be looking at going in the next month. They usually don't want payment until the wheels are collected so It should give folks time to get some funds together.
