Ive just used hammerite smooth on the Mk4 rears that will be going on mine and it looks lovely.. Much better finish than using brush on, durability reports to follow. I used halfords brush on for my 288s and they worked really well, there is going to be a colour chage soon though so i reckon ill be going with the spray...Going silver Michael?

I cant see the atraction of "pretending" to be German.......No offence to Germans (Ahem, cough splutter) but German machinery and engineering is ace, but im british! English to be exact!I'm not pretending to be German. It's my Corrado wearing German plates which is proud of its German heritage :)
-
They are a popular upgrade for Polos, so you will probably find a buyer on one of the Polo Forums. £100 would be reasonable.
-
It's pretty unlikely they'll be able to salvage the bumpstrips tbh, they're bonded on and mine snapped when they took them off.Pour boiling water on the bump strips and they come off fairly easily. The heat makes them flexible so they won't snap.

I have had split rims and my Speedlines refurbed by BJV. Thier work is spot on and very reasonable on the wallet.

[where are they? Behind the nearside rear passenger door panel thingymajig?Yeah thats exactly where they are.
I think there are two so you could just try swapping them over to see if the passenger side works with the drivers relay :)
There are two relays, so try swapping them over. They are big bucks to replace though, about £45 -50 each IIRC. I think you can run a 12v supply straight into the seats to establish if the elements are working (that's what I did to check mine before I fitted them).

Fancy doing an MOT for me next month :) I'll remove my german plates beforehand!
-
My respray was £1k and I can't complain. They have done work for some well known forum members who have also had good results.

I used the sticky double sided foam tape as used by double glazing fitters. Fairly cheap to buy by the roll and easy to use as it holds every thing in place.
-
I think the blk and yel wire is a spare switched live. I'm pretty sure I used this one when I wired in my heated seats.
-
Yes but not handy at the moment.I will have a look when I get in or over the weekend.
hi
i'm also after the wiring diagrams for the eletcic recaros and heat seats could you help me too please for car has non heated cloth seats at the moment got the looms for the seats but no heating switch or loom and i also need a relay i think
I hope you have deep pockets. The two relays for the heated seats come to nearly £100 iirc from the stealers, the rely plate is about £6-7 and the list goes on.

Great improvement. They should have made them like that in the first place.

using a bake bean tin to repair a exhaust on a rover 216 worked a treat and went through a MOTre-cycling at its very best

Confession time!
Mine was using bits of a biscuit tin and underseal to line the inner seals of a Cavalier Sports Hatch (Opel Manta style) to get it through the MOT. I would use the cowboy or embarrassed smilies but they are not working for me at the moment. I hasten to add this was along time ago and not the sort of thing I would do again.

i can personally think of better ways of spending money!!! but hey its a free country :)If we were all against quirky spending sprees none of us would own Corrados :)
-
Mk2 Golfs seem to be getting a few votes. I suppose we could also add the worse VW's we have owned. Mine has to be a Golf Mk3 driver sold after two weeks and a Golf Mk3 GTI sold after less than a month.
-
My old MK2 Golf and Wife's Polo GTI - both great fun and a completely different to drive compared to the Corrado.

Pull it in the direction of the winder on the opposite side. East to west.

I recently sold an early head light for about £25 on Fleabay so £25 for the lens alonwe would appear to be a bit steep. Unless he has upset you in any way??

Hi Chris
Welcome to the forum. I hope you are enjoying your new addiition to the family.
Where are you based?
-
I believe Hafrauds make touch up paint to order. If yo do a search there's also somewhere on the internet who sell by mail order.
