  1. If it's the type with four holes, a metal coat hanger cut into two 6" lengths and bent back on themselves so that the two ends fit in the two holes always works a treat.
  2. You've owned a Phaeton?! :) ;) I did say about but there is time yet. 8 (Mk2, 3, 4 & 5) Golfs, 1 Polo, 1 Passat and Im on my 5th Corrado so not far off  No Fox on the cards then :)
  3. IMHO a Corrado with that sort of low milage shouldn't be showing any signs of rust unless it's had a poor repair job in the past.
  4. Spotted you today on the A3 just past the Woodpecker pub. I couldn't get a good look because you were tucked in behind the car in front!
  5. I don't know the car but despite the low miles that's serious money especially in todays climate. I would be looking at a similar spec'd Storm for that cash.
  6. I am trying to sort out a couple of minor scuffs on a single alloy wheel. Can anyone recommend an aerosol paint which is a good match to the original VAG silver. I have tried the Halfrauds stuff and it's too dark :(
  7. I can't help but I have the same problem.
  8. What's the deal for getting parts from TPS? I thought they were trade only.
  9. They have a high resale value :)
  10. Well don't know if it is the same thing but mine literaly disintegrated. They dont seem to be able to cope with grooved discs at all. They eat them up and your wheels get filthy. Which aint great for a supposed low dust pad! Plus the braking was dismal. Really didnt want to touch EBC again but my mechanic convinced me the Red stuff pads were great and begrudgingly I have to agree :D Great braking with std discs, not much dust and work well from cold. I am willing to accept that the Greenstuff have maybe been improved from 3 years ago though. Let us know how you get on. Especially with your grooved EBC discs  I've got greenstuff pads and the EBC discs fitted now. The initial impression is good although I'm still waiting for the pads to bed in.
  11. Too late. What's wrong with them? I have used them in the past and had no problems.
  12. I've just replaced the Zimmermans with some EBC sports discs which were nearly double the price even after a heavy discout from ECP  . Lets hope they are better..... Just got to get a refund from GSF now.
  13. Thanks Karl. My last set of zimmermans lasted for 5 years they must have gone down hill quality wise since then :(
  14. I have just notice that after less than a 100 miles of very light use my front dilled zimmerman discs (288,s) have hairline cracks which originate from some of the outer holes. Is this normal or potentially dangerous?
  15. I applied some heat to mine with a blowtorch and then whacked them with a hammer. They came off fairly easy afterwards.
  16. A breakers is the way to go, I picked up a set for £40 as that's all I had on me and then I sold by old calipers on the Bay for just over £60. Result :D
  17. It sounds like a siezed caliper to me. Time to do a Mk4 conversion
  18. After being off the road since E38 the Corrado flew through it's MOT today now sporting Mk 4 rear calipers. Not even an advisory :D :D Insurance was only £206 (fully comp protectected) with the AA this year. Got to get my tax sorted out tomorrow and away I go

    overspray

I used a water based paint stripper (sparingly and VERY carefully) to remove some overspray which was on my front plastic wheel arch liners. It did the trick and brought the plastic up a treat. I did remove the liners before I did the job though :)
  20. Find a friend who is a member of a breakdown service :)
  21. I know, I recognised the scenery :salute: . I used to work in Sultan, and then moved on to Collingwood a couple of years ago :) Have you met up with Goldie as he was at Sultan?. I'm sure he's moved his Storm up north pending a nice trip on a submarine. The meets down here have seemed to have died a death due to lack of attendance. I'm sure something will crop up this year if we're lucky.........
  22. Nice Storm. It's good to see another Corrado in the Pompey area :)
  23. Mine arrived this morning. Thanks Dave. Well engineered I must say :D. I can't fit it though as the C has a flat battery and is stuck in the garage :(
