  1. _Andy_ just leaving Fareham this morning. I was in the Polo going in the opposite direction.
  2. I've recently been quoted that sort of price for an ISV for my Golf, they are only very slightly cheaper from GSF. Second hand is the way to go.
  3. Looks like you've been busy Michael :) Congrats on the new additions to the family. How did I guess that you would end up with a Mk1 in the end :norty: It looks like you've got one of the few left which hasn't been molested too much. I look forward to following this thread.
  4. Fast approaching 10 years for this VR. I had a 16v for 4 years prior to that.
  5. The only way to tell is to take one for a test drive :D . The two cars are of different breeding and probably both as enjoyable to drive. The Corrado has more creature comforts and will give a more comfortabler drive on longer journeys. I run a MK2 GTI which I enjoy just as much as the Corrado but it all depends what sort of mood I am in.
  6. Another vote for......... SEBRINGS!

    scratches on fogs

Good links, although the Corrado fogs are glass and should not be wet and dried as this will only add more scratches.
  8. Stick a chip in it and get it done on your insurance. Insist on a genuine VW screen as many of the pattern ones will tend to whistle.
  9. I used Seat Leaon rear calipers sourced from a local scrappy for £50. Not sure if I used the Seat calipers though, it was some time ago since I did the job.
  10. It's a very tricky job, even the pros don't like doing them and often get it wrong.
  11. Good to see you back Michael. Your Corrado obviously didn't need a lot of selling, the best ones usually sell themselves! Is it staying local and going to anyone we know?
  12. I'm not quite ready yet as I am putting some funds into some other work on the Golf. Will let you know when I am ready.
  13. Tom, I have total respect for the amount of worrk you are putting in. It's come a long way since you first dragged it up onto the transporter in Fareham and nearly leaving the Cat behind! Looking forward to seeing the end product.
  14. If I didn't know better I would have said it was a wind up. Pretty Chav-tastic though :epicfail:
  15. thanks just done a quick google search and sounds quite simple to diagnose. They were subject to recall, so you will be covered anyway.
  16. Take it back and get them to flat the paint and re-polish.
  17. Could you make one for my Mk2 Golf if I supply the headlight comnnectors?
  18. That sounds exactly the same as my problem as the petrol comes from inside the chassis. The only confusing thing is that it only happers very rarely. Is it an easy enough job, and what type are the fittings? Cheers
  19. I have had the same problem for the last few years, whenever I get it checked out by a garage they cannot seem to find anything. It only seems to happen if the car has been stood for a while. The car has just passed it's MOT with one of the most thorough testers in the area and even he couldn't find any traces of a potential leak.
  20. Totally agree, although I am running 15's :)
  21. These are supposed to be very good and are used by a lot of people on here http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/pro ... #shopzilla
  22. Looks very fresh. Hope it serves you well.
  23. Been out for a drive, sweated buckets in the leather seats :) , and took a few more pics as the Corrado is going back to the Body Shop to have some niggles sorted next week
