1. Here you are: Although I doubt you can get them any smaller than 18" from Audi. 18's of course won't fit properly as far as I'm aware
2. Looks like they've spliced into the indicator wiring for the original bumper indicators, hence why they're directly wired in and pushed through the headlight reflector housing. Although yeah, they work fine and totally makes sense why they did it that way, it's a pain in the arse when it comes to changing them. They also rattle around in the headlight reflector housing because the original main spotter brackets that fix the spotter lamps in place have been removed. The side light fitting might work provided I can fix it into place somehow. All I need is 2 of these and some spade connectors I guess: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-POLO-PASSAT-MK1-MK2-CORRADO-DERBY-SIDE-REPEATER-INDICATOR-LIGHT-BULB-HOLDER-/261066650814?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cc8c8f4be Even better: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLF-MK1-MK2-CORRADO-CABRIO-CLEAR-SIDE-REPEATORS-NEW-/251058375827?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a743ecc93 Fixing ideas?
3. Yes, I have by the looks of it small orange side indicator bulbs placed inside the headlight unit - Main/High beams on the outside and the rather dodgy indicator bulbs (wired in directly) on the inside. They look a lot like this: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-W5W-ABD-Capless-Wedge-Replacement-Bulb-Amber.html?bulb_search=c27440 But in this position:
4. I'm over hauling my headlights and tidying everything up from previous owner as his work was TBH f*cking terrible. All I have left to do is tidy up my headlight indicators. Basically, I need to find out what lamp and bracket fix into the inner reflective housing in headlight on a standard 92' 16V 2.0? I presume an indicator goes here but as I have a smoothed front bumper on my C (was bought this way) there's no where else for an indicator to go so of course my indicator has to sit in this position! I want to fix the correct indicator lamp into the headlight properly via correct bracket so that it doesn't move around and come loose. At the moment I've got what look like small 2 x flat side indicator bulbs wired in and then poked through the inner reflective housings with no bracket to support them???? Seriously WTF... ! Problem I have is because they're wired in directly I can't even swap them out if one blows - I need to solder one in! Laughable... but very annoying now that one has, you guessed it - blown. If somebody could confirm what lamps (and brackets if poss) fix where into headlight reflective housing that would be great. Headlight setup and bumper setup would be cool. FYI - All wiring for bumper fog lights and bumper indicators are still intact and work normally- This has been tucked away quite nicely in case I wish to revert back to stock bumper arrangement. Will try and take pics later on today in case anybody is confuesed... I would be!? lol Cheers,
5. That's the spirit - I think we all get to this point when you either crack on and do the job(s) yourself or you just say to hell with it and chuck some money at it.
6. What engine was in your C originally??
7. I must admit the idea of "wrapping" your motor is certainly very appealing but lets be honest - nothing beats a professional respray. It's the cost of respray that's the issue for most of us not to mention the time it takes to source and buy replacement seals parts etc in case any are broken / damaged during removal. If the wrap was done right the car could look stunning - Get it wrong, and well.. it would eat and eat away at me. The finish has got to be spot on or it'll just look tacky. Can totally see the benefits though: Fairly cheap in comparison to respray Graphic options are endless Ease of install Reduces stone chips in your paintwork You retain your original paintwork No need to contact DVLA to inform them of colour change as vinyl wrap is deemed "temporary" I wonder how easy it is to clean, can it be polished etc?
8. Generally tend to see your motor (if it is you) late afternoon about 5:00ish motoring up Plough Lane, Purley. I drove past you on Plough Lane in a silver Ford Focus (borrowed) last week, flashing my lights at you. I live Coulsdon / Banstead way Normally I'm in a lowered dark blue 2.0 Valver with shaved front bumper (pretty recognisable) - it was in the shop all of last week hence why I was in Focus
9. Dark blue C spotted on Mitcham Lane Streatham, South London. Infact you pulled up beside me to ask about my coilovers  Hope you managed to get some sorted out in the end BTW - Could have sworn I saw the same car in Purley / Woodmansterne way too? Could be wrong
10. Definitely interested in this - Tore a ligament in my left arm recently so changing into 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear in my C at the moment is a bitch. Borrowed a Ford Focus recently while my Valver was in the shop and i must admit, I preferred and grew quite found of the focus's shifter! It's tight and responsive, everything locks into place. Shortening the sweep on my C would def help. Does it tighten everything up as well? Dave - I'll PM you soon to confirm. Cheers,
11. dz1 exklusiv - Not bad at all, def good call. Although for a one piece 17" set, £900 seems a little steep for what they are
12. 29 and on my first, have owned 16V 2.0 for about a year (always been a motorbike man up to a year ago)
13. Thought they might have been Image but now that you mention it - Could well be WRD's. Either or they're bound to cost a bomb! Trying to find some wheels that are pretty rad looking but not over the top. Looking at Image Billets at the moment but can't justify parting ways with over a grand for some new shoes... Would be nice to have some cash left over for tyres too
14. Could do with a higher res picture really but this is all I could find! Cheers, Ten Ton
15. Presume these will fit a valver too? Could be tempted...
16. Mighty fine example you got there - Is that a mono wiper on the front? ---------- Post added at 10:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 AM ---------- Curious - any guesses as to what rims and tyres are fitted to this one?
17. Def Carline CM6's, looks like 4 x ET01 (3" deep dishes all round). I'd be inclined to go for 2 x ET14's on the front (2.5" deep dish) and 2 x ET01's on the rear. Seen them go for about £1200 second hand, IF you can find them..........
18. My quotes have come in at around £2000 - £2700 so about right really. I presume then that it's inevitable that seals get damaged during removal process?
19. How much of the 9A engine does it cover? I have a 92 16V 2.0. Could use this
20. Buy / borrow tools. Source parts. Quick how to. Get it done.
21. How much roughly to respray your Corrado these days? Any recommendations in / around the Surrey area? Cheers,
22. Had a look at how the distributor mates to the block - I see what you're saying now, a mark on each, block and distributor (lining the two up) to ensure you don't f*ck with the timing. Got it. BTW I'll most def be going to Heritage to get the gasket, can't find the seals any cheaper (although £9.00 for a gasket still doesn't sit right with me when you consider what it actually is! lol)
23. Interesting to hear what tomvass83's symptoms were (he had a problem with his distributor seal on your first link) in fact they're very similar to mine - My car idles funny and stalls / lurches at low RPMS. While this can be a number of things it would certainly help if a can eliminate the distributor. Great links Sean, looks fairly straight forward doesn't it? Thanks for the heads up re marking distributors seating position in relation to the block - Not entirely sure what you mean yet but it'll probably smack me in the face when I'm looking at it! This sorta heads up can save a major ball ache later on sometimes Will get a new green gasket on and probably a new cap while I'm at it. Seems like a good place to start.
