1. Well, I never, that's pretty high tech for a 1990 car. I'm quite sure my previous G60 didn't have this feature, however my 96 VR did have it. Thanks for the info!! Gabriel, looking forward to seeing and sorting your recent purchase. :g60:
2. On a recent hot day I locked my car with my windows upon a jar, I noticed that when I turned the key to lock up the windows closed themselves:scratch:. Now, we're talking about a 1990 Dutch import LHD G60 with no wiring mods. It did have an aged VAG alarm fitted that was causing all sorts of issues when I first got the car so I removed every trace of it and put the loom back to 100% original with solder and heat shrink so it's nothing to do with an alarm. Did car's this early have total closure as an option? I guess they must have, I've been over the loom again to check to see if I missed something and I I haven't, it's factory all of it. Apart from the solder and heat shrink of course. And I've checked, if I leave both windows right down and lock the car, the passenger window closes first then the drivers side. Further to that question, if anyone know how this factory system works what controls it? An extra relay????:scratch::scratch:
3. Will have a bit of time on Thursday to have a look, I'll drop you a PM with details of what I have.
4. Right. Sorry for the slow response guys. The only thing listed above that I can help on for certain is the central locking pump. Have one from the MK I 16V in good working order. And I can help on the door card retaining clips, perhaps also the black carpet fixings, would have to have a good poke around through my boxes of bits to be sure.
5. Big thanks to Josh C for nice straight forward deals on many, many front end parts. Polite, sensible and friendly communication at all times and payment always as per arranged. I have that head light on hold for you mate, hopefully then you'll be back on the road.
6. Looks like you've found a good un there. I'll get her driving like new for you.
7. Aux gauges done. Just got to sort lighting to match the OE Green.
8. Here we go, first test fit complete, the Allen screws will be replaced with andoised Black items to try and look as OE as pos. Going to experiment with different bulbs/LED's to get as good a match as I can to the factory Green back lighting. please excuse the pic's, taken in a rush and I had problems with reflection. 9. Got a load of stuff on eBay at the mo, a lot of Corrado stuff as well as Audi Coupe parts. Here's a link to my listings. Please ignore the most of the prices, I'll do better deals that that on most parts to forum members. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/kitsimmonds/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686
10. LOL, I have to say I love them all equally for their own characteristics. The S2 is the only one that takes some living with. Not that they break or anything, in standard trim they are truly amazing for a turbo charged car regarding reliability, 200K miles on the original K24 Turbo is not at all uncommon. The catch comes when you the quest for big BHP starts, it's a simple engine to tune highly but in no way a cheap one to do so. Parts are very, very expensive and unless your a mechanic expect 2K a year servicing. Anyway's my little collection is pictured in this thread. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?64217-Hi-all-just-got-another-G60-after-6-years-without-a-Corrado
11. Hey, no worries mate. I'm sure I'll find another copy. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wish I'd never sold mine though. Something at the time was telling me my Corrado days were not over, that was Six years ago and now I'm a lifer again. My G60 is going no where, in fact if push came to shove I'd sell my 16V MK II instead. Though I have no intention of parting with any of my collection. My 1988 completely original condition small bumper MK II 16V with OE MINT Black leather + all other common options, FSH and 110K miles. The current new flavor of the month, my 1990 unmolested edition one Corrado G60 on 65K miles with FSH. MINT is all I can say, just a few minor dents to deal with and she will be one of the best. Of course there's my 1990 Audi RS2+ spec 350 BHP S2 Coupe. This has done 180K not like that matters as the engine internals and all vital components are either new or virtually so.. It's just been rebuilt and balanced again after 80K miles at 300BHP, this time with a bigger turbo, 3" turbo back exhaust with atmospheric waste gate dump along with a host of other goodies. One very expensive car! In fact, I'd rather like a BMW E30 2.5IS to complete my dream garage, with perhaps a Merc Cossie as well for good measure. If I had space I'd have the BMW now.
12. Got one exterior handle, not sure if it works or not but seems to be OK, and two broken ones
13. AUX gauges ready for installation. Used the same back plate for them as I used in my last LHD G60 Eight years ago so has an element of nostalgia. It's going to be painted Matt Black this time with black counter sunk Allen fixings, as opposed to shiny alloy.
14. Finally after much, much head scratching, parts from three set's of clocks and some seriously fiddly work I now have a set of UK spec edition one G60 clocks with fully working accurate MFA and a speedo that reads spot on in MPH. The USA ones I had in there before annoyed me as the speedo topped out at 140MPH and became progressively more inaccurate after 50MPH, tested with GPS 110 on the US clocks was 130 for real. Tested on air field of course. All the temp's were in F as opposed to C, that really bothered me. Also the fuel tank on US cars is larger so the fuel gauge said 15 gallons instead of the 12 that's correct for my car. I do wish I wasn't so fussy sometimes, it took me a over a day to get them right. Anyway here's a pic of some genuine Black badges I picked up from a MK II GTi at the breakers the the other day along with complete mint MK II grill with genuine perfect Hella spots, along with a mint rear spoiler, for a tenner!!! 15. Forgot to add I have an OE leather hand brake handle on the way, snapped one up from eBay for 20 quid!!!!! Figured that's probably what it's worth, still a lot for a bit of trim. I must have one though, think I have OCD. And for added interest the last pic is of my Audi S2 engine half way through serious turbo/exhaust revision. It's running now and is scary. Though in bits again for major breather system revision.
16. Here we go some pic's of what a Corrado should look like when it's been driven. Note my badge reconfiguration. Correct leather steering wheel, full UK spec clocks and AUX gauges ready for installation. Used the same back plate for them as I used in my last LHD G60 Eight years ago so has an element of nostalgia. It's going to be painted Matt Black this time with black counter sunk Allen fixings, as opposed to shiny alloy.

19. Yep, got a decent rear spoiler, 30 quid posted? That's just for the spoiler not complete mech.

Aaaaaahhh ABS!!

Agree. There is absolutely no need to drop the rear axle to change an ABS sensor. Mole grips, a leaver and swearing are all you need.
21. The rear bench is the Grey cloth early style all mint, apart from one of the bases has about a million fag burns. In great condition as been in a loft for ten years, the 16V owner had my VR6 seats and plastics. The VR6 seats have already gone into a MK II Golf but I still have the VR Black plastics, which he never got round to fitting so they have also been stored in the dark for Ten years. At the time the 16V front seats were taken apart to repair my VR seats (bent in crash) so I also have some Grey cloth 16V front seat covers think their very tidy, would have to check. Was going to split it due to the one base being so tatty, to be fair it only has about half a dozen burns but that's still pretty bad. Can post up pic's if you want.
22. Yes, it did but they were shagged and I do mean completely shagged. The motor's have gone in with my dirty Copper scrap as I couldn't get them to go. However the car came with two complete door's which the previous owner picked up to fix his electric windows and door handles. The exterior handles are sadly long gone, but I'm pretty sure the window mechs are still in them. The doors were stored in a mates shed till last week and I haven't had a chance to check them out properly yet, I did find one exterior door handle in the bottom of one of them. Haven't had a chance to check it's condition or side yet, but suspect it's one of the duff ones taken off his original doors. This thread will be getting decent pic's more info and prices over the coming holiday weekend. Maybe I should also mention that I'm an independent specialist VAG mechanic and I am happy to fit parts for very reasonable fee's if buyers come too me. Also happy to give advice via PM to polite sensible questions. :thumbleft:
23. Sounds like you either have a minor Vac leak or less likely a blockage/pinch in the pipe work to the gauge somewhere to me. What are your MAF fuel readings like compered to before and after you took it apart to do the charger? Regarding others posts, yes Stack also do a very nice gauge that's not a bad match to the OE Audi 80 items. It's 50 quid though, which is fair enough for a quality item. I very nearly bought one before I spotted the one I linked too. The VDO Vision is a near perfect visual match for the Audi VDO, I just couldn't find one with a scale a liked. My reasoning behind the one I have purchased is the face matches the VDO's extreamly closely, Red needle with white writing. It's in bar, with 0-1 at the center top of the scale which is the normal boost range for a G60. It also has -1 vacuum, which helps with economy driving.
