1. These came out of my VR6 that I wrote off ten years ago. The car had done 55K miles and was perfect:bonk: Anyway these parts have been stored in the dark since and I've recently found them whilst digging about for some other parts. All parts are in pretty much as new condition, being hidden away for the past ten years. No damage to any fixing points. I have the Four main post trims. All in excellent condition. the A post trims have some tiny hole's at the top for alarm sensors, barley noticeable though. Don't really know what their worth so 50 quid post may also split. I have two sections for the boot, large one 20 posted small one 15 posted. I also have a mint glove box with key, 40 quid posted. Driver side lower dash, 40 quid posted Collection welcome and I'm open to offers on all parts and job lots. 2. They could well be 1992 clocks, it was so long ago I got them I can't really remember. Yes you can have them for 40 posted, deal. Drop me a PM for my Paypal details ---------- Post added at 10:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 9:57 PM ---------- Sold.
3. Right plugged these into a a VR6 today, they work fine and are on 97K miles. Both LCDs are clear and the MFA works. Open to offeres.
4. Welcome along, not long joined myself, great forum.
5. Early Corrado Front bumper, complete with Mounting Chassis/arms and lower grill. In very good condition. No damage whatsoever, all mountings in perfect order, chassis dead straight with hardly any rust at all. The offside corner has a nasty scuff to the paint work and there are other surface marks, however it would take very little effort to sort it out ready for paint. Ideal for someone with a duffed front bumper, everything to sort it in one lot. Tried to flog it on the bay of thieve's but got little interest. I'd be happy with 50 quid for it, collection preferred but I can post for a further 30. 6. I've had these knocking round for a while, picked them up from a 2.0 16V with it's engine and some other parts years ago. I do know everything works on them but can't for the life of me remember the mileage. I have a feeling its around 70K but I can't be sure of that as I don't have a car I can plug them into to check. However I will do on Friday as a mate is bringing his VR6 over for me to check over, they should plug into that fine and tell me the mileage as well as allow me to check the MFA etc. Their in really nice condition, no nasty marks on the face, very clear. No damage to the fixing points either. Not sure what to ask for them so say 50 quid posted assuming they check out fine on Friday.
7. Don't no the paint code unfortunately, but it's a non metallic shiny Black. I'm in mid Wales Postcode LD3 0YD.
8. As per title I have a late spec VR6 type bonnet for sale. It's black in colour and very straight but does have some minor stone chips and rust spots. The sound insulation on the under side is close to perfect. I'd like 50 quid for it, collection strongly preferred but I can also arrange a courier for about 30 quid.
9. Yeah they should be fine, how much would you like for them? Drop me a PM if you want. Thanks, Kit.
10. Thanks very much. I'm also fan of the early look models in standard trim, will be leaving her this way as well.
11. As per title I'm after a set of early G60 clocks with mechanical odometer, anything considered even damaged/broken units as well as 16V ones if cheap enough. Did win a set from eBay but they never turned up and am currently engaged in a dispute to get my money back with this user. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/jaffacake27maria/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 Avoid them! I should add that I have a good set of late spec 16V clocks that I could swap/sell.
12. Cheers. It is only supposed to be a temporarily addition, as a shot term investment. However I no intention of selling, it's the best example I've driven despite the dubious servicing from the the Dutch dealer. Thankfully I think I got my hands on it just in time, I'm kinda confused as the previous owner shelled out for new front OE discs+pads as well as a set of expensive Pirelli boots just before I got her. Yet the other more important items remained ignored.
13. Finished off changing the Cam, Aux and PAS belts this morning. The Cam belt was disgusting. I've tried to photograph it and failed but it's perished to hell and I would put money on it being the original at 22 years old. Gave it an oil and coolant change along with a set of the correct Bosch plugs, found some non Platinum +standard GTi plugs in her. Again not impressed with the Dutch dealer serving. Got a new dissy cap+rotor arm turning up tomorrow, the date on the cap is 1990 and the arm looks just as old. I have some new high quality plug leads from a 10V turbo five pot Audi that I can use to make a nice set of leads up for the G60 which will save a few quid. I changed the ignition switch as well as the old one was causing electrical issues, what a bugger of a job, had to make a puller to get the steering boss apart. Still it starts properly now without wobbling the key. Fitted a working Sony CD head unit to replace the ancient broken thing lurking in the dash. Added a shot of my drive this morning, in 1990 I'd have been a flash git
14. Thanks, I'll get in touch with him as I'd like to use the best quality parts possible.
15. Have to be honest, the Corrado is a better car all round, the chassis is superior, their more economical on fuel (not that one considers fuel economy when purchasing an S2) as well as being dam sight easier to maintain. The main appeal of the S2 is Four wheel drive and serious power hidden in an old Audi Coupe. Pity their not increasing in value like the their UR quattro relatives despite being far more scarce. The Corrado is most definitely a better investment, and better looking.
16. Right, oh well I'll just have to use common sense. Glad I'm a mechanic! Still interested in the manual though, I like to have a Bentley for all my own cars and much prefer a book to a CD/PDF.
17. Thanks for the welcome people. Here's a few shot's of my daily driver 16V Golf. The S2 and Corrado are my special cars, I'm driving the Corrado for the next month whilst I iron out a few minor niggles. scarlet_vr6, building/running a 350BHP S2 makes the G60 seem cheap to maintain. S2's get expensive very quickly as their so easy to tune the nutts off. Just the parts are expensive and there's lots to wrong, there would be no way I could afford to run one without being a mechanic. 18. That's good to know, any idea where I find torque settings for the charger?
19. Worked out how to make pic's work, very easy on here which is nice. So here's a few of the G60 just before I got my plates allocated, also a pic of my S2. Some how managed to do a double post, durr.
20.
21. Cool, will do. Thanks again for your help going to order that kit of German eBay this week.
22. Thanks, no great hurry. But I'd like a copy in my hands before I start pulling the charger apart.
23. Nice one, that looks like a bargain! Where do you source FAG NU202E? Is it a VAG part? Just noticed my thread has been moved, thanks mods. Sorry for posting in the wrong section, still finding my way around here.
24. Sorry, didn't mean to offend any 8V owners, their still lovely to drive and have the look's etc, I just like have the option of having more go under my right foot. After driving an S2 even the G60 seems pretty tame. Edit, I should also add, that the roads round my neck of the woods are fantastic, bit busy on summer weekends and bank holidays but otherwise it's pretty clear. I'm in mid Wales, so am spoilt for choice when it comes to decent A roads.
