  1. Cool, sounds like a fair deal to me, Drop me a PM with payment details and I'll settle up with you. Thanks for your help.
  2. Not not checked out the Canadian Amazon site, bloody good idea. Will have a look now. I'd rather talk money via PM but would you be happy with 40 quid posted for it, can do paypal gift? Is yours soft or hard-backed ? I'd pay extra for hardback copy.
  3. I'm going to be rebuilding the charger on my Dutch import G60 fairly soon, I'm trade so phoned up TPS who couldn't help. I've a quick hunt around the net and found that Jabba sport do a rebuild kit for less than 250 Pounds. I'd like to use genuine parts where I can, are there any better options than the Jabba kit? Doing the cam belt today, which look like it's been on there since new:rolleyes:. The car's only done 65K miles and is supposed to have a FSH from the Dutch dealer that sold it, I'm not impressed by the state of the belt. Should be changed every 70K Miles or Six years IMO. Also found a Fram oil filer on there yesterday whilst changing the oil!! I don't like them one bit, their rubbish IMO. Stupidly I'd forgotten the G60's requires a slightly diferent oil fitlter to the other Four pot engines so I've had to put a Mann filter for a 2.0 8V on for now. Will get the real deal delived from TPS tomorrow morning and swap it. Sure it won't hurt running the 8V filter for a day, but for the sake of a few quid I'd rather have the exact filter fitted.
  4. Have to say I my opinion the G60 offers best compromise. Driving in old man mode on a decent run (100 miles+) I can get just over 40MPG out of mine, that's checking properly with full tank's of full from the same station at the same price, using the odometer reading. NOT believing what the MFA tells me, though I have to say it's not far off, suggesting I can get 44MPG. Obviously if your drive the thing properly fuel consumption suffers considerably, but I still get over 30 MPG day to driving, I do use the cars potential for overtaking and tend to cruise around at about 70 odd MPH. My VR6 wasn't all that bad on fuel, I took it on driving holiday round the north of Scotland and on my way up there took it upon myself to see just how good an MPG figure I could achieve. I filled up in Hereford and again in Glasgow, so that's 30 odd miles of A road followed by over 300 miles of Motorway, the MFA said 37 MPG my calculations from refilling suggested more like 35 MPG. The rest of time I was up there I covered 2300 miles and got an MFG average for the whole holiday of 32 MPG, and that's a right mix of roads and driving speeds. The Eight and 16V cars can do a little better but I'd rather have choice of being able to use the extra grunt offered by either a VR6 or G60 and just cruise round steady if I'm trying to conserve fuel. IMO the 8V is under powered, yes it will do 45 MPG driven carefully but you may as well be driving a 1.4 polo. My 16V Golf will do over 40 MPG on a run. But I find very little difference in cost between running them fuel wise. I have to concede that the G60 require's more maintaince than it's naturally aspirated relations which bumps up the over all running costs. I change the oil/filter in my G60's every 5K miles and the plugs are dam expensive though they do last longer. And of course these the charger to look after, going to rebuilding mine soon, looks like I can get a kit for less than 250 quid.
  5. As per title I'm after a second hand copy of the Bentley paper manual for Corrados, G60, VR6 and SLC. I know it's a an American book, but they are about the best manual money can buy. I did have one but sold it some years ago after parting my last G60, knew at the time I'd regret it:bonk: If it comes to it I'll just have to shell out for a new one, can get one from the states for around 70 quid delivered but would like to save a few quid if poss and not have to wait ages for it to arrive. So if anyone has a copy they want to sell please drop me a PM. Would prefer a hardback but a soft back version would just fine, don't mind oily finger prints as long as the book itself is undamaged.
  6. Hello everybody, just a quick first post introduce myself before I start finding my way around your forum. First off I'm very familiar with forums, being a long standing member of the S2Forum, Classicaudi as well as the Golf GTi forum so I'm know how to behave myself.. I'm a mechanic so have plenty of experience in repairing these great cars. Anyway after a Six year break from Corrados, driving Audi Coupes/S2's, I've just recently picked up a lovely Dutch import G60. I've had both VR6 and G60 models in the past. It's Tornado Red, has spent the last Eight years living on the street in Hauge, posh area thank the lord. The British ex-pat owners moved back here a couple of years ago and kinda forgot about it it's. Recently they bought it into this country, I then purchased it and got it on to UK plates This one has had a very easy life, an elderly Doctor was the first owner followed by the couple I purchased it from who are VERY careful with their vehicals. It on 108KM's with a FSH. I currently run/own. The Corrado G60 A very original small bumper MK II 16V And a highly modified Audi S2. I thinks that's a good enough introduction for now. I'll post up some more details about the Corrado and some pic's as soon as I can work out how to.
