davidwort 0 Posted March 23, 2005 I can't seem to find out technical info on my 9a engine :( , does anyone have a good weblink that has full internal dimensions for my engine, like con-rod dimensions, combustion chamber volume, etc? Haynes Passat manual, can't remember the stroke but bore is 92.5mm I think. Compression should be 10.5:1, I'll check tonight if no-one else knows, info is probably in owners manual too. David. h100vw 0 Posted March 24, 2005 Haynes never did a manual for the 9A. They do have a VW one, I got sent some photocopies of a couple of pages from it years ago by a very nice young lady. There was one on ebay last year, I sold it to a lad off the forum. mrbeige why do you want all the info??? Gavin
davidwort 0 Posted March 24, 2005 Haynes never did a manual for the 9A... My 1988-91 passat haynes manual covers the 9A, although a lot of the photos are geared towards the 8v passats. David.

It has the fluid specs and stuff but it's not got all the info for a full engine rebuild like you would find in the MK2 Golf manual. There is nothing on the ign and injection systems if I remember correctly, which is where the VW book comes in. For instance you can't even adjust the tickover on a 9A...... Henny 0 Posted March 24, 2005 h100vw, not entirely true... disconnect a plug lead and I'll wager it'll adjust the tickover... ;) Sorry, I'll get me coat...
