It's aliiiiiiiiiive!

Recommended Posts

Well I finally scraped some money together and took the car to a reliable garage.

Blokey said the timing belt had gone a few notches so he'll adjust that and see if that works.

If it doesn't then it'll be one of the valves.

Just awaiting his phone call now...........

Wish me luck!

Well, just had the phone call and it's not good atall.

It's not the timing belt and they've gone through all the basics...

They gotta take the head off to know what to do next, and the suspect either a bent valve or a melted piston :(

I'm skint as it is too but I can luckily pay in installments

Will dance for 50p

Mate... tell them before they pull the head off and charge you £££'s to do a leakdown test to identify problems.

Oh dear, still if you can get it sorted it'll be worth it. You can't put a price on a well running Corrado..! ;)

flusted, thanks.

Valerian, No.

I've just been chatting to a mate and he says I might aswell buy a new engine.

I'm thinking of either VR6 or TDi as I can get the engine put in for an absolutely VERY cheap price.

sciroccotune, true.

But the thing is if it's not valves though and it turns out to be something else then I would have just wasted a heck of a lot of money for nothing. ( Which could of gone towards a new engine, and I don't want to take that risk )

Even worse if the engines just knacked.

triggermyson, I may be able to insure a vr as it's only 2 groups up, but I'll be on the look out for a 150bhp TDi 6spd Golf engine more..

best ring round for some quotes before making any decisions. Some places will treat it as the group the engine came from others will ask for mucho denara
