aposegil 0 Posted November 10, 2003 hello cheesy not to put a downer on your new brakes but uve fitted them wrong. Im being very serious ive sold about 10 kits of these and even for when i go to fit mine the caliper needs the brake line to come in at the bottom and the bleeding nipple at the top of tha caliper. This is all due to you cant bleed them properly the other way round. Its just a warning but i would certainly get it checked out.
cheesy 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Cheers Alex will get them checked Whats the worse case senario with them fitted this way?
h100vw 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Air in the caliper, which will give you a $hitty pedal. You could bleed it off the mount so the nipple is at the top and then fit it. Thing is the hose is the right length to go to the bottom, so it'd be best to swap the calipers side to side and bleed them again. Gavin

h100vw 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Hey Cheesy, do you need big Fu*k off brakes on Jersey? You haven't any motorways and the limits 30mph, I heard! That said, they do look good. Gavin
aposegil 0 Posted November 10, 2003 from what ive been told the hotter they start getting with air in the system the less responsive they will be which could mean anything but then im no specialist. You could what Gavin says but then having to much slack on the brake line doesnt look good
G60Jet 1 Posted November 10, 2003 you need to get all the air out cos air sqauches fluid doesn't

How much and are they a direct bolt on or do you supply the bracket too? Sorry for all the Q's but I might be pretty interested in this as I may need to get new front calipers anyway.Thanks. Sandy 0 Posted November 10, 2003 You think the C has good brakes until you get a wee brake conversion done. Opens your eyes Sandy
aposegil 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Blown the are direct bolt on but you need to have brake lines made up as the seat ones are very expensive. Where do you live and ill put you in contact with the guy i get them off. Also there is two kits one for the 4 stud and one for the five stud so everyone can be happy lol
dazzyvr6 0 Posted November 10, 2003 alex can you give me the info on the 5 stud kits please :D
aposegil 0 Posted November 10, 2003 well they are of the new five stud seats cupra R's ad te discs are bigger but from what i remember they also twice as more expensive than the 4 std versions. Ill email my contact tonight and get updated info. I know John M has a set on his car and he loves them
PhatVR6 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Don't you need to run 17"s with the 5 stud setup?
dazzyvr6 0 Posted November 10, 2003 probably, good job ive got 17"s already :D
aposegil 0 Posted November 10, 2003 PhatVR6 you might even need 17" to run the 4 stud version aswell as ive know people have had to shave their alloys to fit them over the calipers
PhatVR6 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Me too, but they are split rims, so not much room for big calipers.
cheesy 0 Posted November 10, 2003 Cheers for the advice I'm running 7x 18's ET38 I need to run 15mm spacers to get them to clear the caliper
