sparks 0 Posted September 4, 2008 Hi all just wondering as i thought a little while ago you could get 300 bhp from the little pg whats the average bhp from the engine so here it is please post your recorded bhp from rolling road or best guessitmate (make sure you state flywheel or wheels power) i know most have the spec of the car on the signature but if not just a brief one then we all know what we are aiming for with what mods cheers stu
sparks 0 Posted September 4, 2008 ill start it off 68mm pulley ,sns chip, straight though exhaust , 168bhp at wheels about 180bhp fly wheel cheers stu
steve @ 0 Posted September 4, 2008 ill start it off 68mm pulley ,sns chip, straight though exhaust , 168bhp at wheels about 180bhp fly wheel cheers stu With 168bhp at the wheels I recon your pushing more than 180bhp at the fly more like 190-195bhp. boost monkey 0 Posted September 4, 2008 Do you mean PG engine on it's own (therefore allowing for a turbo to be used as per Mr. Junkie) or the G60 engine as a whole, limiting the bhp claims to those using the original G-Lader?
g60karmann 0 Posted September 4, 2008 I would like to see all PG really, that way it will give people an idea about the advantages of a turbo and see if it is worth doing, from what I've heard it is not much more than the price of a g-lader re-build and stage 4 porting so might be worth it as a turbo rarely needs re-building and when it would finally come round to need it you will probably be thinking about a bigger turbo anyway :D
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted September 4, 2008 I half own a Corrado G60 with my brother in law, we took it up to the Stealth rolling road day a few months back. Got something like 174BHP at the flywheel, it's totally standard too  Was very impressed with that.
JMC 0 Posted September 4, 2008 1.9l, forged pistons, Golf G60 FMIC, flowed throttle body, stage 4 charger, Piper 285 cam, 68mm pulley, red tops, custom map. 196 bhp at the wheels (233bhp at the fly, and 203lbft). Will be more when I get the proper cam in there, lol.
Critical_Mass 10 Posted September 4, 2008 Smash! 233bhp 8) Though impressive figure for a standard engine JoeBloggs
Rustynuts 0 Posted September 4, 2008 There used to be Silver Mk1 doing the rounds, stripped out for sprinting that supposedly had 274 bhp. Can't remember the exact spec of the bottom end, but was running a Eurospec head and heavily ported charger.

Shaggy 0 Posted September 5, 2008 I bought a Mk2 Golf Edition One G60 in my Sig! http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89060&st=0 I built it to have pretty much the same spec as the rado ;-) So pushing 240 - 250bhp. Although that is now sold and being collected end of this month... amazingly mint car, just couldnt use it as a daily anymore, its just too mint, i spent an absolute fortune on it! will be a sad day when that goes :( Then i can start work on my VR Rado ;-)
bcstudent 0 Posted September 5, 2008 came out at 187BHP flywheel 192 lbft Frankinstein Motorsport when i did the formula of max lbft x rev (at the point of highest lbft) divided by 5252 it came out 211BHP (192 x 6000 devided by 5252) So that's 187bhp at the wheels then?
