early may hopefully, there is 5 or 6 lads working on it. i will be regularly checking how the car is progressing. there isn't many corrados around here so when i left it at the body shop everyone just stood there staring at it. the helicopter they were giving a full re-spray was getting no attention  its nice to see even in the state its in it still draws a crowd

Everytime I rwad an update on this post I am so shocked, amazed and totally envious! Your Corrado is amazing and like others have said if only we could all do that work on our cars. You are very lucky and keep up the good work.

The only way to describe this whole thread, corrado and the work you have put in............Brilliance and perfection!

Hi,

Quick question, how did you remove the Front screen, ie what tools did you use, and was it much of a Job...?

I need to take mine out to treat severe rust around the screen.

Cheers,

got the front windscreen taken out and then i finished off the inside

i used square cutting wire and my feet. the wire tends to get caught in the plastic trims on the side of the screen which makes it difficult to get the whole way around. the screen will not come out unbroken unless you are very patient and take your time but for the sake of £200 you might aswell get a new screen and trim. it takes about 10 or 15 minutes to do, then just clean off the left over sealant with a sharp chisel and your good to go. hope that helps.

20V.

Thanks for the quick response..I guess i'll have to try the Wire & Knife method, though I contemplated buying a Special FEIN tools Oscillating cutter (FEIN Supercut FSC 1.6) as this is secifically made for cutting Screens out..it would also come in handy for lots of other specialised cutting applications.[http://www.feinmultimaster.co.uk/fein_supercut_automotive_glaziers.htm]

But a tad pricey way of getting a screen out..anyway, thanks for the info.

Cheers

i was in the bodyshop today and took some pictures, its coming along nicely.

this is filler primer, after that it gets standard grey primer, base coat and then clear

all the lines on the body have been kept as sharp as possible, this will really show the shape of the car(yet another advantage of going back to bare metal)

Great to see a Corrado getting this much care and attention, when so many others are being broken for spares, because they are worth more that way.

Looking forward to seeing the photos of it painted.
