Lets see some more pictures please, I need some motivation to carry on with my stubborn piece of crap VR. I'm considering some legal pressed plates but I can't decide if I want a GB badge on them or not.

Ha there should be more pix after the end of this month as I'll be heading down RttS!! U'll have to wait until then I'm afraid bud :p

Hmmm motivation. Can't say I'm much of an expert when it comes to motivation dude lol!! But ur car's pretty mint mate just add a couple of little touches!! I love my pressed plates man to the point I don't like acrylics plates anymore lol! I decided with the GB, my thoughts were that it made the car look a little more modern which I liked.

If it were my car dude and u needed some changes looks wise, I'd go for some red standard lights or even DIY red tinted crystal rears, and think about tinting the headlights and/or fogs - coz a dark stealthy VR looks well mean!!

The stealth look is what I've been going for, although I keep going back to the idea of Silver speedlines, maybe I should have 2 sets!. At the moment I'm trying to decide if I should do my 288's red, black or silver. Black is top of the list at the moment to go with the stealth theme. This is how it's looking at the mo

I think she looks like a beaut mate!! Like I said if it were me I'd get tinting tho to make it more dark! It's between red or black for the calipers for me! Got any more frontal shots? (of the car before anyone says anything!!)

Sadly not since I have fitted the coilovers but I desperately need to update my members thread so I will take some next time I have the camera with me.

I have a tin of the savage red spray for the rear lights, I just haven't got around to doing them yet. I started a whole load of little bits last year (wheel centres, badges and so on) but then it got too cold to spray outside so I have a backlog of spraying to get on with, it's just that the prep bores the living **** out of me!

Thought I'd share a quick pic with anyone reading as I haven't updated nor done anything to the ol' boy in some time now...

This was whilst on my travels during a 2hr blitz around the local town as I don't get to drive him much these days :(

ps. Notice how I 'happened' to stop briefly by the Maccy D's ;)

Cheers dude. Well, DaveStorm got in touch out of the blue and said he had to sell. I'd asked him for first dibs a while ago. It's a well looked after car, with very good history, perfect mods etc. Just needs some paint (at the end of October). Love it.

The black VR has gone to a very good home with LauraJ 8)

I forgot about 'the change' lol. Every so often I follow a link in a thread or from Google and it links to the 'old' style, that's when I appreciate the new look!

Anyway, motor is still looking top and I have stuck with a black badgeless grill with satin black VR6 badge, love it. I see you on xbox live sometimes but your always playing football games :p Give me a shout if you want a team mate for some Gears 3!

Haha yeh fair enough I much preferred the old one! Not as though I go out my way to not come on here now, I guess something subconciously just stopped me going on as much lol.

Haha we did have a little blaze on Gears t'other day, got a few mates who have got it now too. Need to get a 4-player co-op on Insane difficulty and Arcade mode to get some achievements :D

Yeah man, well up for that. It's difficult to say when I'm going to be on as I have to pick 'her in doors' up from work at 8.30pm during the evenings but if you need a 4th person give me a shout :)

Right then, haven't updated this for a time now - 3 reasons:

1. There's been nothing to update

2. I didn't really visit the forum much after the last 'change', don't know why, just didn't get on with it for whatever reason:shrug:

3. Over the last year I've been having thoughts of selling up and changing motor, something maybe a little newer, maybe something a little older.

I've been trolling the forum a bit over the last month and maybe coming back on here has subconsciously altered my thought process to what I'm doing with my 'rado! Basically decided I love this car so much, having wanted one for such a long time. Plus I don't think I'd look at a different car in the same way I look at this one (ie. ALL the time when I'm walking past etc), they're so damn awesome!! So, it's for keeps.

As I'm not driving the ol' boy so much these days due to having a company van which gets taken home, I can get bits done to it without having to worry about needed it the next day. I've got some bits I bought a long time ago waiting to go on, and some other plans (nothing too crazy, general maintenance!!)I've decided to go for a slightly different look to start up my motivation, I've bought some more Lamin-x for the standard rear lights H/lights, gonna give the engine bay a little spruce up, and bought some RH Cups that I got put on yday and will get re-furbed. There's a polished inlet waiting to go on, as well as some VT engine mounts and a subframe waiting to get re-furbed and I need to buy some new track rods and get them fitted.

Fortunately over the last yr I have become really good mates with 2 brothers who own their own tuning company who are VERY knowledgeable and always willing to give something new a go. They actually specialise in custom engine management installations onto older cars, and there isn't ANYTHING about the Rover V8 they don't know!! They were taking Land Rovers apart with their Dad when they were 8 lol!! (http://www.lloydspecialistdevelopments.co.uk/ if u wanna check it out) So now I have a local business I trust completely who can do some work for me when things get a little bit more technical/arse puckering!!

So here's a little re-cap of how he used to look and how he looks now after the wheel change. Hopefully more progress reports to come soon!!BTW, any opinions on wheel re-furb colour most appreciated!! I want a darker centre (gunmetal) and a polished lip methinks, but I'm also tempted for just getting them all powder coated a dark chromey colour...?

Glad you couldn't let Huw go, the rado is a hard car to replace and most owners who sell seem to buy another one six months later!

Those cups have a big lip on them so a chrome edge will stand out nicely, i had lepson's do my rx2's in light anthracite but they do a darker shade of it so worth checking out.

When i was there last they had a set of bmw wheels in what i can only describe as a high polish titainium had almost a petrol on water quality to it looked very smart.
