Rico 0 Posted January 20, 2004 does anyone have these fitted? ive ordered a set just wondering how they handle/look struts are already uprated.
Bally 0 Posted January 20, 2004 what size are your alloys? I no Alex Darcy used to run his 16v on 18" rims & a 80mm drop...
RobyD 0 Posted January 20, 2004 Dont know of a c fitted with these but a mates got a 40mm spax kit on his mk3 fiesta which handles amazingly well - almost as good as my c  If you've got a deep 90mm spoiler on the front, you'll definitley be needing a smaller 40mm (or 50?) one
Rico 0 Posted January 20, 2004 16 inch rims 205/45/16 tyres its already pretty low at the front prob about 60mm but th backs a good bit higher and ive got big spacers. if 18's go under the archers lowered that much should be ok (hopefully)
cheesy 0 Posted January 20, 2004 i've got 18's on mine running coilovers the fronts are fine its the rear under the arch itself my wheels are et37 but i'm using 15mm spacers so that makes um et22

Rico 0 Posted January 21, 2004 well thats them fitted and lookin lovely! no rubbing anywhere the front looks excellent but the back is stiil quite high. Think its cos i didnt cut the bumpstops car seems to much more comfortable and holds the road well but i still need to get the tracking done cos steering wheel is out a mile now!! prob due to the broken spring i took off
VR6 0 Posted January 21, 2004 A thread in which the Spax suspension was mentioned recently..... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... sc&start=
coullstar 0 Posted January 21, 2004 What make were the springs you took of and how long were they on the car?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 21, 2004 The powder coating on that spring doesn't look too sharp, which has obviously caused the rusting and subsequently the snappage!
DaveStorm 0 Posted January 21, 2004 What make were the springs you took of and how long were they on the car? looks like spax, its stamped near the top
Bally 0 Posted January 22, 2004  good job you took them springs out! you may have to cut abit of the bumpstop.. Have you got any pics with the car with new springs fitted?
Pau1 0 Posted January 22, 2004 My Koni springs snaped on my old G60 just like that. It happend on a very cold day last winter, and I was running the Koni shocks and the proper short bumpstops.
Rico 0 Posted January 22, 2004 dont know how long they were on the car but by the condition of them it looks like a long time. They were spax 40mm springs going by whats stamped on them. Going to order new bump stops cos they are a bit done in (technical term)!! Also just been to get tracking done and of the few places ive been, they cant do it cos the fronts too low!!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 22, 2004 If you've snapped some Spax springs already, is it wise using them again?
Rico 0 Posted January 22, 2004 i know but ive used spax before on other cars and had no prob with them just hoping its a one off and as i said, dont know how long they were on the car or what kind of use they had b4 i bought it. was going to take a pic but i think my camera is busted or needs batteries! RobyD 0 Posted January 22, 2004 Is that the 80mm drop? Looks more like 60ish to me :?
Henny 0 Posted January 22, 2004 Is that the 80mm drop? Looks more like 60ish to me :? That's almost exactly how mine looked when I first fitted my coilovers before it was raised and corner weighted... That was -80mm... 8) (now sits -35ish)
Rico 0 Posted January 22, 2004 looks like 60mm at the back but the front is defo 80mm think i need to cut my back bumpstops to get it down more.
Furkz 0 Posted January 22, 2004 gotta give them time to settle too matey....mie was quite high when i first got em and kno sits nicely i used Apex
Rico 0 Posted January 22, 2004 I was thinking that might be the case, i only fitted them yesterday and i aint really been anywhere. Give it a week and see what happens. first impressions are quite good, i can throw it about and it grips big style but can be a little bouncy at times i.e slowing down on bumpy roads :bounce2:
