Toohottotrot 10 Posted September 5, 2011 I have just purchased a brand new rear axle for my VR6. Any ideas on a better than standard paint finish to have applied? I want to protect it better but keep an original look. Thanks, Mj

winchbietch 0 Posted September 5, 2011 Hi I used 2 pack etch primer and 2 pack satin black on all my axles / subframes with clear waxoil to finish it all off. We use the etch and black to allot of the off road builds we do and its a fairly chip free hard wearing finish. Paul
1xshaunx1 27 Posted September 5, 2011 i had mine nylon powder coated with tank staps for £50, looks top banana when its done. have a look in my profile album
steveo29 0 Posted September 6, 2011 id go for something painted on over a sandblasted finish , that way you can touch bits in and do part repairs in the future por15 is very hard and does well on blasted steel epoxy primer would be a decent choice too , theres rustbuster epoxy mastic , or jotamastic on ebay theyre less fussy on the prep if you wont have it blasted

boost monkey 0 Posted September 6, 2011 Powdercoating can't really be touched up, and the second it gets chipped it just starts cracking. My 2p.
