Hi guys,

 

Finally getting round to having the rado resprayed after 7 years of saying it needed doing. My sprayer has asked about source a new bonnet and drivers wing if possible. I did mention they are rarer than unicorn poo. But if anyone has some lying around please send me a PM. Vr6 panels required.

You should note that there are subtle differences in the wing designs between early and late cars (iirc?) So you might need to be more specific in your request. Some VR6s may have left the factory with early wings. I don't remember if there's bonnet differences too or not.

I think all VR6s had the slightly raised bonnet in the centre.

Wings there's roughly a difference of 10mm between the width of later and early wings.

as far as i know the bonnet & wing differences are only split between early or late models

 

early models have a dip in the middle of the bonnet whereas late models have a raised middle. (i have an early 16v & a late VR)

 

late models have the slightly flared front & rear arches.

 

i dont believe the early VR's had the raised middle bonnet but i cant confirm

All VRs had the raised bonnet, it was to provide clearance for the larger engines, other late models had it fitted because it was then the only bonnet that was being made.

 

Bonnets seem to be still available from Classic Parts, but at some price - also not sure if this one is late or early from the picture:

Front wings are different, late are wider. The rear outer skin is the same on all years, but the inner section is different.

I also having fibreglass wings made shortly
