Fitting window rollers

hi all

does anyone know how the window rollers fit?

the site the guide was on is no longer alive & seeing as ive got all the interior out it might be worth fitting them to get rid of the rattle

I think I just removed the old roller with pliers, rolled the new roller down the channel and used the pliers to pinch the new roller onto the ball joint?

Do one at a time to stop the lot falling into the door (worst roller first).

I donated the one good roller to another forum member, the rear most roller was destroyed falling out of the channel.

They just pop off with a little bit of force - if they are really worn they'll nearly fall off. Then the new one just pops on - a bit of lube on the roller and the channel will help.

They may not totally fix your rattle though - check that the sliding guide on the rear rail is still glued to the glass, as that is often a  a major contributor if the glass has been replaced at any stage.

thanks guys

i had the drivers window mech replaced & this is when the rattle started

are they easily visible when you have the door lining down?  im not even sure where im looking lol

There's a rail that is welded to the uprights near the bottom of the window - the rollers slide along it and are attached to the ends of the two arms attached to the window mech. The rear bracket slides up and down on the upright nearest the lock mechanism and should be attached to the window glass.

Get some good grabber seal and inject it into the bottom of the window where it attaches- will get rid of most of the rattle.

An adhesive seal, something that grabs - basically a very strong adhesive .
