Can the silver part be turned the other way?

it’s these bits that are the problem they sit on the roof and the thing won’t sit right as it’s too high.
I think I may try grinding them off and have another go next weekend

Fitted my new dab aerial and  cables at last, which then allowed for the headliner and interior to go in after I partially fitted the new rear carpet which is shaped pretty good but the holes for the plastic sill covers don’t line up too well and some trimming is required maybe because of the extra underfelt kit but on the whole, it’s a good fit.

Your carpet goes all the way under the back seat? Mine just goes over the steel bridge

Looks better with the carpet going all the way under the seats IMO. Car is looking great 👍

Turns out it fits very well, I’d not put the hole for the seat belt in the right place. Fresh head doing the passenger side showed up my problemCD5E3E9F-5F14-48FC-A19F-0B0B478D31F1.thumb.jpeg.a72d3cad5f851ea34b69f9780b50c8ee.jpegE7CE4442-52B7-4479-BA8C-31C9E07BC6FD.thumb.jpeg.a145cfc5f4218a4e85e6d0d3ab24b437.jpeg

Had an insurance quote today. I must say anyone with a modified car talk to Brentacre they are great to deal with.

I phoned them up to update the mileage figure they were showing, I did this because everyone knows what insurance companies are like when there is a claim. While I was on I said I’d like to change the agreed value as I’d had a respray and the values of these cars had gone up in general.  I’m pretty modest on the value I think, it was at £10k and I told him it was more like £15k now. He went offline for 5 mins and when he came back said he manager said no problem and no increase in premium to pay.

If anybody is interest for a 370 bhp Corrado, agreed value of £15k, with up to 5000 annual miles and with max no claims it’s £570. To some that maybe a lot, but this is no ordinary Corrado remember.

That is pretty good. Mine was about the same, but that's without the big engine mods.  I need to look at my agreed valuation; think mine has just been left at 2.5k for a while now. Sounds like it needs a readjustment!

That respray looks fantastic by the way. Didn't realise it was Aqua Blue - looks so deep and vibrant!

It's looking fantastic inside. That is definitely a lot of effort into making it that nice whilst putting it back together. Can't wait to see it 👍

Wow mate, you are really making it look brand new! That interior is coming up nicely, looks like a lot of work.
I did noticed some nice things going on: TT wipers, carbon fiber by the windscreen. Love those mats, spoonfed?
I also really like the steering wheel!
Cheers

Cheers for that. The mats were from a guy called Gunther on here from Germany. I was well impressed with them when they came. Dr_G60 is his user name. I don’t think he is a paid member so can’t post, but I think he can still get PM’s.
He did me a full set and 2 spare drivers mats for £150 delivered which I thought was pretty good as it’s always the drivers mat that looks tatty first. Nearly as much as the new carpet from Newton. But I think it was all worth the money and effort.

I’m soooo happy not to have my car spread all over the garage and house anymore. I’m going to do the driveshafts and have a damn good tidy up and clear out after. I’m going to be ruthless.

Did my gearbox oil seal and drive shaft swap. Seems the passenger SKF inner cv I put on 10 miles ago has gone really tight for some reason, so probably a good job I swapped it out maybe, for a whole J & R drive shaft. Be interesting when I do swap the drivers one out as that was a J&R inner cv that’s done at least 1k thousand miles on the oem shaft. I didn’t attempt the drivers side shaft as I thought I’d quit while I was ahead as that side doesn’t need doing, I just wanted to pair them up and test them.
the oil seal that caused the swap and the really tight new inner cv on the oem shaft. A4EDF508-2D24-4655-9CEC-5EDA287E065E.thumb.jpeg.1ff4101d6bd414f910828ce08f6b8500.jpegC85AA79E-D232-47B2-B4B3-CB2A2FC9D733.thumb.jpeg.94d3b8b8ef9fb3d37e3d9d1b96b826a0.jpeg

So tight I couldn’t straighten it by hand.

Also noticed I need to change the front wishbone bushes.
Got it all back together, gave it a quick wash and went fo a 20 mile run with no problems to report, was really nice to go for a first decent run without issue and no drops of gear oil on the flaw this morning. So quite pleased with it all this morning.
just needs the above, a good wax and the wheel alignment sorting.

So not a big list for a change.

Way to go mate! Glad to hear it went smoothly for you.

-I wonder too why the SKF came so tight? Would be curious to find out...

-My inner came out that way as well, I had a ball bearing popping out of the cage.

-wishbone bushing, time to upgrade to the R32 ones! They're cheap and not too bad to install.

-I would wait to sort out those bushings before going for an alignment!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Cheers

Yes that’s what I thought when I saw them. I asked for them done originally but he only did the rear ones by the looks of it for some reason.
