My centre box is hanging low on one side which i think is the cause of a strange noise when driving along the bumpy suffolk roads. When i lift it up it just falls back to where it was but it has not always been like this, what am i missing as there seems to be no mounts or O rings missing???

Fair enough, thanks for the info!

do you have a link? Do you reckon it would matter much about the quality, im just thinking god forbid i do hit anything its gonna break regardless of what its made of (unless i get a carbon one :) ) Will better materialstake paint better etc?
-
I have seen these as an all in one piece but can the be bought chepaer than venom's £100 inc. VAT?
-
I know im forever pulling flipper dents out of my roof :D
-
FYI one of my cv joints went and when i took it off you would never have known there was anything wrong with it.

check you key isnt slightly bent, mines doing the same thing but my main key has a slight bend in it, on my spare set its fine every time.
-
make sure they are tightened evenly or the bumper wont sit completely straight. When i did mine i was turning the bolt for quite a while before it felt like it was going in.

Sorry bit below the belt, since you didnt pay for them i'll let you off. :) If I was the insurers who had to potentially fork out for the wheel (especially a Venom! sorry...)i would say the driver could have stopped rather than drive in to the pothole. If he saw it and couldn't stop he should have been driving at a speed reflective of his own level of driving skill, if he didn't see it he has been unwillfully negligent. The whole evasive action thing is a s**t for instance, you're driving along and some drunk driver is coming at you at 75 on the wrong side of the road, you then swerve and pile into someone's house, its your fault. The evasive action you chose was a poor decision, you enterred in to collision with something! If you want to avoid potential liability in a situation like that all you can do is let him hit you, stupid but completely true. Perhaps inanimate obect was a poor use of words the technical term is insured peril. Insurer's dont care what you call it, hit a bollard, post, pillar, wall, lump, dip or pothole in the road its an AD claim and its your own fault, at least in terms of legal liability. Sorry about the Gary thing by the way

So who elses falut is it if a driver hits an imanimate obect. Try claiming that one back as an insured loss! If you hit something its your fault, beleive me if seen it all when it comes to claim forms. 'my car veered of the road it wasn't me', 'it was the deer's fault it shouldn't have been there', 'he shouldn't have been parked there'. If anyone has had success claiming for something like this then great, good on ya. But as drivers we have a duty of care to keep a proper look out. So yes, if you are unable to make an appropriate evasive manouvre it is your fault! Unfortunately we live in a soceity where people no longer have to take responsibility for their own action cos there's alway someone to sue. One last comment while im on my soap box next time anyone moans about the cost of car insurance just have a think about why that is, the more people claim for 'compensation' for these things the more all our premiums go up. You claim off the council they just jack up the tax at the cost of everyone, you never win in the long run. All this does for anyone is say 'its ok Gary it doesn't matter how you drive your CRX with venoms cos everyone else will foot the bill'
-
It's worth a go, a mate damaged two of his wheels and got the replacements paid for by the council. Chances are then in that case they rather dealt on terms of economy, but i wouldn't pay that claim if it was me cos theres no proof that it was done in that place, and its the driver's fault, otherwise everytime we hit something we could just say 'oh i didn't see it' and sue the owner of the obstacle. How fast was he going when he hit the pot hole was there any existing damage that may have contributed to the dmage caused. Far to many variables, a judge would laugh at you!

That would never work, there's no evidence, it would never stand up

hardening the dampeners on my koni coilovers
Madjackal replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Drivetrain
I just took the rear speakers out, the whole job took 10 mins from soft to hard  Plus its easier to gauge how far you are turning them, so as to match either side. They are sensitinve tho 1 360 rotation makes loads of difference. I might back mine off a bit -
Mine would make a noise when turning but only if I was accelerating as well, and that turned out to be the outer CV joint. If it was inner (i have been advised) it would do it only, or at least predominantly, at full lock.
-
Would waxoyl not start to flake away after time tho, could be problematic for coilovers??
-
mine dont work but the one for the fag lighter does????? Kev has done some extensive messing about with his heater controls, he might be able to provide some assistance

If you put just the side lights on you should have just the anel eyes on. This is going by the in pro set on my mate's golf anyway.

Thats a good idea... providing you have a hairdryer... which I don't, lol Yeah - not sure about K&N oil now with MAF's... Is that why your hair is like that! All the towel drying!

Vince did mine for £650 + VAT, for new chains, tensioners and clutch. You can be sure they will do a good job and the service is spot on. I called last week for advice on doing my CV joint and I ended up being on the phone for 20 mins while he gave me all the info i needed. You can bet the average garage would try and get you in to get some cash out of you.

Must be about time, i wonder if we'll start to see more of this. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35184

I went with the Koni Coilover kit, and cant complain at all as the dampening is adjustable as well as the ride height. I just stiffened mine up at the weekend but I think I may have gone a little to far as it rides more like a jack hammer now. Although the roads near me are a little on the uneven side.

Thats why Im regularly giving mine a good going over with a stiff brush and spraying some WD40 on.
