What Clumpy said in his Post #76, ie : MMmmmmm I'm not totally sure I like the look of the carpet it look's a little to modern (fiat like) for a Corrado it may be the pic's but the original Corrado carpet is quite a plush pile that look's a little "cheap" like I said though it may be the pic's and Declan's in his Post #77, ie : Can only agree with the above! Yep, my perception's also the same as Clumpy's, and I'll come on to that a bit more further down. First of all though, many thanks & appreciation to all involved in getting this carpet option to this stage: it's a big "Thanks & Well Done" to Anna, Newton Commercials & Dan, as well as the very helpful comments & steers along the way by experienced Forum members Coming back to the quality etc, my thoughts are : 1] the fit : it appears to be excellent 2] the pile: it looks quite flat to me too in the pictures, and also in the pics of the red protype shown back in Posts #50 & #52 my view is also that it should be a deeper pile for the Corrado [versus the Mk2 standard pile, as several Others have also mentioned in the early pages of this Thread] 3] the colour : it may be a trick of the camera [??], but this black example appears to me to be more of a charcoal grey than a true black ?? I'm basing this observation on the clear contrast in the pictures above against the true black of the seats, the dash & centre console, the driver's foot pad and the footwell vents Question : is anyone else seeing it as more of a charcoal grey ? It may well be that now the template's fully sorted and the price about to established, then [in light of Anna's comment in Post #44 that "they are always up for developing their products..."] one might be able to discuss bespoke requests & attendant prices direct with Newton Commercials for : a] a deeper pile [ie, say a 'deluxe' one, as in the apparent underlay option == see my point c] below], and b] a true black as an optional colour as well as c] the underlay options [which Anna advised of in Post #66, ie "They have also made underfelt kits, a simple one to add to what you have or a deluxe one which would give a full kit" Hopefully the boot turret template will be developed soon as well, and then the 'whole shooting match' could be available to varying desires of quality & colour... and that would be an "ultimate option" outcome of all this hard work & endeavour, topped off by a price for a fitting service for those that may want to make a trip to Leiston in Suffolk for a "drive in, drive out" carpeting solution I hope this post helps in the observations, deliberations & outcomes ! Question for Anna : would you be able to post pictures of the two underlay options, please ?

vagstuff replied to luke w's topic in Parts for Sale

Apologies for the double post... at the first 'submit post' I got the "Error" message screen c/w 'the Arse', and assumed it hadn't worked, so I did it again and now find that it had worked 1st time round...

Good Morning Zak, First of all, I appreciate all that you've done with the R&D etc to develop this [now famed] loom upgrade, as well as to keep making & supplying them, for Members' benefit == :salute: Secondly, I'd like one, please. and could I just clarify a couple of things : 1] I'm aware of the mini-debate within this helpful thread about spades vs OEM connectors, and I take the point you make about the spades forming a perfectly good connection... ... I happen to have a spare set of OEM connectors with protruding wiring so I'm fancying that mating those respective protruding wires onto your loom's wiring with heat-shrink connectors would be an ideal combination - am I right ? 2] is the price still £56 including P&P? I seem to recall having read £50 + £6 P&P in the thread... 3] I'm sure it's stated within the thread what the postage method is, but without me going back through it all can I just check which service it is, please ? I'd like it to come via an insured & trackable service and if that's not already part of the £56 price then I'm happy to make the total up to £60 for you for an insured & trackable service... if you need a bit more than £60 let me know Could you send me a PM with the payment details, please? I'm guessing it's PayPal, and I'm quite happy to send that as a Gift payment so that you don't incur any deductions at your end. Regards, Thanks & Appreciation, Robert

heres a pic of the rear lights the gauge holder ok so theres a bit of damage to the grill its started to split along the centrer, the gauge holder the holes have split but with a washer u can still get it to fit. i dont know if its real carbon fibre i think its a thin piece of wood with a carbon sheet coating, its not a vinyl as there is strands of the carbon fibre showing. Thurs eve 02-Jan-13 : Hello again 'bully', Following my earlier post this afternoon about the 3 Gauge Holder I'd then sent a PM across this evening enquiring about these rear lights also, on top of the Gauge Holder that I'd already put my towel down on... per Forum protocol, and as time has moved on since then, I'll commit to these rear lights now @ the £70, please. Hopefully we can work a combined P&P arrangement out tomorrow [say, P/Force 48 ??], and as soon as I've got your payment details I'll settle up by return. Regards & Thanks, Robert

Yacobwood's Parts For Sale (NEW PICS PAGE 2)
vagstuff replied to yacobwood's topic in Parts for Sale
Hi Rob, These are indeed the Black carpets. Ill take a photo for you tonight just to double check. And Charcoal Grey in a black interior car. How weird =/ That being said, VW do like to mix things up a bit. Prime example being Grey headlining with a Black interior That's great, Ta. Don't worry about the pic, your confirmation here on the distinction between black and charcoal's fine by me. When's good to collect? in addition to the anytime Fri - Sat that I'd offered, seeing that you're online at the moment I'm wondering if that means you're at home today as I could come over this afternoon from 3pm onwards, through to early evening if that helps? You choose. Can you PM your address, please? Thurs eve 02-Jan-14 : Hi Jacob, Just to say a big "Thank You" to you & your family for all your collective incisive help & excellent responsive communications that enabled this to happen so seamlessly this afternoon - all much appreciated, and my Best Wishes with your other items. Regards & Appreciation, Robert -

Good Morning yacobwood, your Side Boot Carpets : I've clocked that these parts are from a black cloth trimmed car, but can I just check, please, that these Side Boot Carpets are black [as opposed to charcoal grey, that I believe some black cloth trimmed cars had - strange though that might be] ? if "Yes", can I bag them, please, at the £15? I'm only 30 miles from you, and could collect them Fri - Sat anytime to suit you... that'd be a nice trip out for the car ! Regards & Thanks, Robert -
That's great, Chris, and "Many Thanks" all round... I'll sit tight and wait to hear from you as & when it's available. If it's PayPal, I'm very happy to do the payment as a Gift, ie so there's no deductions at your end. Regards & Thanks, Robert

Good Morning Chris, Thanks for that... that's very fair & proper, and I respect that protocol. I've found the eBay Listing, Ta. At the risk of being a bit thick, when you say "...if I dont I will do in a couple of weeks" does that mean that if you haven't currently got an additional one you will have an additional one available in a couple of weeks? If "Yes", then : a] that's fine by me to wait for that, as I'm only after this as a back-up spare b] can I "put my towel down" on that additional one, please ? c] would that be at the same £20 + the P&P ? Regards & Thanks, Robert
-
Good Evening Chris, Could I have the Driver's Window Mechanism, please at the £20 + the P&P ? Can you let me know the P&P amount [and which carrier] plus the payment arrangement & details via a PM, please? I'll settle up by return. Regards & Thanks, Robert

I recently had the privilege of sorting some mods & upgrades with Dave's excellent bespoke parts, as well as paying him for his fitting care & expertise. The parts were : 1] short shifter == just great & decisive now  2] handbrake tunnel bracket == no more sqeaks or rattling  3] door handle repair kit == now solid 'actions' again, and great preventative maintenance The high quality of his design & fabrication of each of these bespoke updgrade solutions is already well documented by other such highly satisfied Members, and I just want to respectfully add my own appreciative endorsement to those... ...my own privilege enbraced all aspects of the arrangement, from my initial enquiry through to his fitting expertise & care : :salute: Dave is a very cheery & affable 'Top Man' in terms of his communications, his encyclopedic knowlegde of our beloved steeds and his 'kid gloves' care of one's car with his fitting The totality of the whole experience culminated in a very enjoyable trip across Nottingham, and an then an ongoing, perpetual    feeling of 'proper jobs' well done every time I'm near the car. So, it's a big "Thank You" from me, Dave, and I hope my very positive experience can help other would-be Members who are contemplating any/all of these upgrades to decide to go ahead with any/all of these 'proper job' enhancements. Wishing you a happy & spirited 2014, and "Good Luck" with your work your own steed, Robert

"Thanks for all your help and for the photo Sanky!" ... ... and I'll second that to Sankey for both the most excellent pics [Wow! that shine puts mine to same, a-hem!] & also the very helpful accompanying commentary, as well as to PaulV also for raising it  this Forum's just superbly helpful with such excellent inputs like this, particularly on these otherwise ticklish & testing aspects == Ta x2, as I've got the very same... "Happy Days", and Evenings ! Regards & Thanks to you both, Robert

2013 Late Headlight Switch Group Buy. Stock Now Arrived.
vagstuff replied to 8vMatt's topic in Forum Group-Buys
I'm in the Newbie class, and I've just availed myself of 2x headlight switches from Matt's meticulously well researched & tested group buy stock. I thought it both appropriate & well merited that I should post an appreciative endorsement & feedback for the benefit of any other Newbie would-be purchasers who might be considering getting one whilst this unique upgrade opportunity's still available. Matt is very approachable [i used the Private Message facility] highly responsive and his communication's superb fast despatch, and well protected packaging The tried & tested, high quality itself of the switches already has many ringing endorsements on both this and the other, initial thread [ What would the interest be in new late headlight switches? Pricing Update. ], from more experienced Corrado owners... what I would add to those is that : the switch feels very solid in one's mitts, with a very robust & decisive switch action there's a beautifully smooth rotate on the dash light dial wheel [far better than on my OE one, where the dialing was a bit notchy] Corrado headlight switches are renown for ageing problems, and at £23 posted [each] Matt's switches represent an ideal VFM future-proofing against such failure, if it hasn't already happened, and insures against downtime sourcing a more costly one from either the dealers [if they're still available??] or looking around on eBay [only to find a still-fallible used one]. I hope this helps.
