  1. Sounds like you have a 'short-circuit in your drivers door or switch. Possibly in the rubber tubing at the front of the door where it goes into the body. Id peel that back first and have a gander in there.
  2. Just an idea, I've worked at a few garages and seen it happen alot. You'd be surprised.
  3. Just be careful that some little scally was trying to nick your wheels and got disturbed. Locking nuts fitted?
  4. Its not, used to be an mot tester, its just a comment that the tester put down in case vosa come calling, just covering his back. He could put any comment in there like I used to do with my mates - loose nut behind the wheel. ;-)
  5. I have this problem with mine, I replaced the original temp sender just because it had a slight leak with a known good quality make and the reading went up by about 20-30deg. I just assumed that its calibration is a little out as nothing else was changed.
  6. Yes it does they're old tyres. You'll probably find that the tyre is 'stepped' along one edge of the tyre and this is causing the noise. Some people often confuse this with a wheel bearing failure.
  7. Received today, spot on cheers. Many thanks
  8. This morning 7.50, driving along Duffield rd, Derby. N***EYU in aqua blue. Think a g60 but early in my commute but half asleep. Very clean and std, i was like a little child who had just seen a sign for free toys. :-D
  9. Mine did exactly the same thing took me ages to sort. Had new front wishbone arms and the rear bolt was just a little loose. Tried to 'nip' it up and snapped. 2days later 6 blunted drill bits and a helicoil all is ok. Hope this helps.
  10. Well, technically . . . . You probably only have 50000 before its worn through the rivits! So take off safe zone add a 25% safety margin on top and reliability of the tensioner. . . . . you probably have about 100 miles left! Lol
  11. To be honest, it depends on how you drive/maintain the car. If you're going to 'boy race' around then go for the mk4 upgrade with braided hoses and dot 5.1 fluid. As you will be replacing warped discs and pads every 6mths or so. But if just cruise around most of the time (and every once in a while boot it on a sunday blast, like me) I've got bosch discs, pagid pads with castrol fluid, and with a bit of a clean and grease every service I never had a problem with feel/fade/judder. Hope this helps.
  12. Hi, do you still have the sunroof cables. Need a left hand one for late spec storm?
  13. Sort of a common theme here. VW nuts all the way my mk2 16v. 2nd car after my gold nissan micra! Brought this mk1 gti conv. With my daily sitting behind it.
