/me scours ebay :D Something about that wheel type/size and ride height that just rounds things off perfectly. Certainly floats my boat. Think you should get a set matey, sod the refurb!

Don't think detaching the battery will do much good :( Most modern alarms have charge capacitors which allow the siren to carry on even if the battery has been disconnected. Same thing happened on a mate's CRX not too long ago, he was off travelling and the car hadn't been moved for months. Alarm goes off at 2am - as it happened we were there at a party for his brother so drunken logic kicked in. We totally removed the siren from the car and took into the back garden, went off for a further 10 minutes before me mate's Dad twatted it with a lump hammer. Problemo solved, well kinda. Chances are there'll be a key turn combo from the ignition to override the system, you should have got a pin number with the alarm. Failing that, hook it up to a battery charger and try disabling it from the fob. HTH randal

Dan, 99.9% sure the oil breather hose is connected (IIRC the one that runs across the top of the block then just push fits into the air box pipe?) Will have to take a look at those copper pipes next weekend, not gonna get a chance today. :( MPG has stayed about the same, mind you I wouldn't be able to tell as it's always done it. Thanks for the pointers anyway, much appreciated. Nice 'rado btw :D Ta randal

I've had this since I bought the car, and was wondering what is causing it? Don't think I have a fuel leak, as there's no obvious leaks (or fire) anywhere... I remember reading something about the lower half of the airbox having somehting to do with this, couldn't find the post about it though. Maybe I just imagined it :? Can anyone shed any light? Thanks randal

Bought some Passat rear handles and locks today, but...

Hmm, had no problem what-so-ever when bending mine. Just have to be careful I guess. I did that at the advice of someone else on here, can't remember who - but it all worked out in the end. Hope you have some success with it. :D -

You got all the right bits and pieces chap, you need to do a few things first though. Grab a pair of mole grips, and bend the striking pin down a litlte bit. Then unscrew the white adjust a fraction. Basically you need to play around with it so you can make a better contact. It will work, just needs a bit of playing around to crack it. HTH randal -
Mine's shinier nur nur In retrospect, your car is cleaner.... ....and a VR6.... ...and a Storm ....I'll shut ma pie hole now...

Yep, works for me! After a sprint into work, always gets the "There's a good corrado" comment. However, after walking away from the car and noticing the stone chips and the pop dent in the car it get's a "SODDING CORRADO!" comment. Hopefully both will keep it in check

96K when I got it in Feburary, now showing 105,550 - damn driving to work, dammit!

Blimey, that's a bit odd. Wouldn't be the first time I've heard of heavy rain causing chaos with random things in cars though. On the ol' Toymotor the rear wiper went mental after a heavy downpour. Not talking on/off/on/off - i mean polygraph sort of mental! Very odd, I figured it was possessed - threw some holy water over it, read a few choices passages and exorcised the demon. All was well. You at NoRice tomorrow btw?

Last couple of tanks I've been getting 350-400 miles out of a fill. That's mostly motorway driving at 80, and a little bit of around town driving. Quite happy with that. :D

Funnily enough it is blue! Gorgeous looking car, and yeah they do have a habit of stealing any glory from the rado. Snif... (until you steal the engine out of it and drop in in yer rado that is). :D
-
Ah crap, you didn't say anything about that! In fact, can she give me a lift? I'm dying to see/hear/feel what those cars are like! There's one parked down my road, that teases me everyday. Waah, I want £27K...

Oooo the competition! Will we be putting a wager on this?

This is gonna sound really lame, but I have major demons with that road. Might have something to do with nearly losing 2 friends to it. Try to avoid it where possible. (yeah, i'm a wuss!)

M15 VW Will keep an eye out for you. I'm in the grey valver with the inane grin btw! Jo - You're on! Safely, safely of course... Through Normandy and Ash Vale though, roads are much more ...race, I mean - safety friendly round there! ta-ta

Yeaah, think I'll pop past on me way home from work. Can't stay too long though. :( No rest for the wicked!
-
Well sod's law - it didn't do it today! Talk about tempremental!
-
Waaah I wanna get my body work sorted - what sort of money are you throwing at this? I've been quoted around the 250 quid mark to get the rust spot under the indicator and a few scratches taken care of. But that doesn't include the crease in the door, not the two pop dents.... :(

What are you running off the amp matey? I'm running 6x9's, and I've taken the filter off so it's straight through. Upped the level, so the amp does all the work not the HU and adjusted the bass so it doesn't distort at higher volumes/extreme bass. Best way of doing it is to tweak it a bit, listen - go away for a minute. Rinse and repeat. Reason I say "go away for a bit" is because ears have a habit of becoming "used" to a sound. Makes tweaking quite annoying! Especially when someone else gets into your car (which you think is sound!) and says "errr, sounds a bit flat!" HTH randal
