bump, I need to know how much can i sell this for, or if its more worth my while selling the car as a whole.....
-
So does anyone have an idea how much i should ask for this engine? Or in fact how much for the Charger and engine seperate? I'm still in negotiation mode with the ins.comp. so havent got the car back yet, but I will be breaking her :( so everything must go! I'd just like to know how much some of this stuff is actually worth? I've never broken a car before so have no idea!

Just out of interest, does anyone know how much it costs to re-register a car once its been a Cat-D (?) write off?
-
as stated elsewhere, theyve now given me the option to write her off, which i think i will do, buy her back, and then either sell the bits that ive got, or fix her myself, and then sell her on.

Insurance: given me a rubbish offer: Finally resolved.

that seems like cack to me m8, Ive just been offered £2300 as first offer for me 91 G60 with 170K on the clock!! -
Seeing as me inscomp have given me the option of repair or write off car, I was just wondering how much my G60 engine would be worth in todays market? Its pretty much a standard engine around 170k miles but in awesome condition. Charger was only rebuilt 3k miles ago by PSD, Ported and running a 68mm pulley making just over 1bar/15psi boost. Recently made 180bhp/182ftlb Torque on the UK's most accurate rolling road @ silverstone (apparently) and thats with clutch slip! Would it be worth more if i sold the charger and engine seperate? Ive got loads of other bits on her that would be coming up for sale as well, such as FK coilovers (less than 5k miles), Tarox G88 front brakes (less than 5k miles) as well as all the usual stuff.

moving on then.... Just had assessors quote back: £3300 worth of damage!! :shocked!:
-
perhaps i should have been a little more clear. The ins comp have already said that it dont matter, they will fix it! :) Anyway, thats slightly off topic, anyone got any advice for my original question?
-
no they wont write her off coz its not my fault.
-
Unfortunatly I had someone in a Range Rover drive into the rear of my Corrado yesterday morning. (I'll get some piccies up in a bit) Its caused quite a bit of damage but my ins.comp. have already said that they will repair it, as it is totally the other guys fault. The thing is, I've got aftermarket rear lights on and havnt told the ins.comp. about them. As a result of the accident, they are damaged. I'm not overly concerned about this, as I have Legal cover which will get me the cost of any uninsured losses back but my question is this: Should I try and claim for the lights ordinaraly thru the ins.comp. first, or just tell the legal peeps about em? Other damage is the bumper has been cracked, the big bit of bodywork between the bumper and boot is caved in, in 2 places, and broken away at the side, and the boot lid itself is bent out of shape, creased in 2 places wont shut properly and has itself caused damage to the ruber seal around the boot. My exhaust now rattles, and for some strange reason ive now got a big oil leak......

ah tis ok now, someone has come to the rescue :)

I desperatly need a Car trailer/transporter/A frame for this evening! Ive been let down by HSS at the last moment and have to get one for this evening! Does anyone have/know where I can hire one from? Im in Bedfordshire and need to pick the car up from Kingsbury nr Wembley London.

According to my Owners manual its 1115Kg
-
cheers, so it sounds like the best option is the RS2 apron.
-
These aftermarket bumpers, such as the R-RS, are they designed for the Early or Late spec front ends? I mean, I dont really want to go buy one if its for the Late spec wings, or it'll be poking out
-
but if your thinking Aylesbury way, then surely AmD in bicester would be a better option?
-
ok, so which size would fit in the RS bumper then? Im just trying to get an idea of how much this is going to cost me..... ;)
-
how near to Watford m8? I know of a few really good ones in the Beds/Bucks area, and I possibly could find some in Herts but i wont know what they are like.
-
was just having a look at the ones made by Forge HERE and was wondering which size would be best to fit behind the RS bumper?
-
ah ha, many thnx :thumb right:

I think it happens with both left/right and it happens in wet or dry. theres never been a splash guard there since i've had the car, and this has only started recently. Is there a possibility the PS belt needs tightning by adjusting the location of the pump? im sure i read that somewhere....

Just recently my power steering seems to "turn off" (for want of a better word) and then back on quite randomly. This is very disconcerting as your going round a bend, as you'll turn the usual required amount, but suddenly find that the amount of force you've put on, isnt anywhere near enuf, and nearly go straight on!! Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Ive already tried topping up the fluid, thats fine.

yeah, us beedubbers are usually there once a month/once every 2 months. cya there :D
-
so him expecting £3500 is bit much then?
-
around 10 to 12k miles a year, and this ones 15 years old. its now showing 170k on the clock, but it certainly doesn't feel like it!
