Does anyone have any idea how much chipsaway generally charge? I've asked em for a quote, but they've not got back to me yet. Just some general stone chips etc that I want fixed.
-
How much is reasonable? There are loads of threads discussing the options m8, just depends how much u wanna spend.
-
Or upset everyone and drop in a TDi :) hehe

ok the lambda was replaced....no difference. On closer inspection the garage found that the 3 wires to the probe were all broken! So, 4 new tyres (went for 215/40 17" Toyo Proxes T1-R's this time round), a new windscreen, new lambda and a rewire and ive got my MOT. Thats got to have been the most expensive MOT Ive ever had! Especially as the last one was 6 months ago on my 20yo Polo, that failed on a wiper blade! lol

Yeah, she's actually due a service as well, so Ive booked her in with a m8 who works at Audi. LOL! Funnily enuf, the car had just been ragged back about 50 miles. Was playing games with a brand new caddy! Dam those things are quick! Cheers for the advice tho, i'll get the oil changed b4 i take her back. Oh and surely if the xzorst had a leak, that would have shown up on the MOT? Or am I giving testers too much credit there?!? lol

oh and would a Golf VR lambda do the job?
-
so you're saying dont get the one from GSF? I assume by genuine you mean get one directly from VAG? How much are they likley to be, as my old copy of ETKA (couple years out of date now) says that a lambda will set me back £125?!?
-
Just had a look on GSF's website and they have lambda probes for £49+VAT. But they also have "LAMBDA PROBE, General Use x WIRE UNIVERSAL" where x is a number between 1 and 4. (How maths was that statement?!? ) & a "LAMBDA PROBE TOOL 22MM". Does that mean I need to get the wire & tool as well?
-
So how much a Lambda likley to cost me? Im pretty confident I can fit it myself, so just really need an idea of parts cost.
-
Had her MOT'd yesterday and failed on the CO reading. Was WAY out on the CO readings (5.5%+) and also slightly low on the Lambda (around 850). Was aware that she's been overfueling for a while, but havent had chance to get it looked at. Was thinking that it might be something like the MAF sensor / Lambda Probe? Is there anything else that this could be caused by?

My ABS has never worked, and ive got to say ive never had a breaking issue in the wet. Wheelspin, yes, as obviously the TC doesnt kick in either, but no slip slidey :) perhaps my cars setup right with the break bias, or perhaps i just know how to drive..... (jk)

sorry, cant find the recipt at the moment. I'll take a looksee in the morrow (well technically later on). I think they were about a tenner.

Ok i've managed to source some. Awesome do the C-spanners and the top adjuster tool! got the 2 c spanners and the tool all for about £30.

Blimey, ive only just come accross this thread. I find some comments quite insulting here, especially from mtc r32. I am disabled. Not in a big way, but it can affect my walking distance. I do have a blue badge. You brought my old G60. Would you have said I was disabled? Probably not. But I always park in a disabled bay, because I dont know when my walking will be affected. If all the bays were taken up by people who wernt disabled, I may find myself having to park further away, or in a space where it would then be very difficult to get in my car. People who do park in disabled spots and not disabled are ignorent of the problems it can cause. Just use some common sence.
