  1. Just read this thread with interest. I would be interested to find out a little more about your 'sciatica' especially if you have had an MRI scan that confirms a nerve root compression. If so, then my advise would be (IF the MRI findings fit in with your particular neurological symptoms) to undergo a decompression and this will enable you to keep the Corrado indefinitely. If you'd like me to take a look at your MRI report feel free to pm it to me. Cheers and good luck
  2. will you being doing a combined postage for us CF members?
  3. dont understand this - adding weight for a plastic look and feel for a price of a respray?
  4. I'd go with battery too - it looks like its trying to turn over but not enough power. The basic trickle chargers lose their ability after a few months. I would recommend the Optimate. I have an Optima yellow top battery, but even it will go flat after 10 days of being left unused. I have checked for battery drain but no cigar. I think this is a common feature with the VR.....
  5. some people may assume this is a reference to bodily fluids, but only those with sick and dirty minds ;-)
  6. I would really like this, but have spent too much money this month. I will check back to see if its around come July, but I seriously doubt it. I could arrange for someone to pick it up easily too!!
  7. Its called Adhesive Capsulitis. Wullie has recommended a sensible course of action, but I'm afraid you may be waiting for a physiotherapist for a while, so it may be worthwhile commencing your own physio exercises whilst taking ant-infammatories and analgesics. Go here for the correct information : http://www.noc.nhs.uk/shoulderandelbow/information/documents/A4FrozenShoulderAppendix3.pdf Your symptoms may well resolve without surgical intervention, however, if they become recurrent then a manipulation under anaesthetic may be in order (basically just yanking your shoulder to bits whilst you are unable to respond). They make a lovely satisfying cracking noise as the shoulder capsule is released! ---------- Post added at 10:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:38 AM ---------- By the way, all those exercises can be slightly modified to ones working on the Corrado. For example lying on your back and trying to get to the bloody coolant drain plug....
  8. For a private pilot's licence course, one of the cheapest is in Bournemouth, but expect to pay around £6000 - £8000 in total. Length is anything from 45 hours-100 hours depending on how far you want to go. The local school here also has the option of going on to complete your Commercial Flying Licence but I can't afford that yet!!
  9. Hi Fay you can get the new original VW parts for the {Scorpion} alarm off ebay: £20 for a new control unit and 2 new remotes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scorpion-915-alarm-ECU-2-remotes-Volkswagen-Audi-/120755838943?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item1c1d9bdfdf#ht_925wt_983 hope this helps
  10. Its now fine thank you, after I butchered the intake and throttle set up over the weekend. Whereabouts in the world are you? And why did you sell your UR Quattros?
  11. Welcome x3. Is the rear wheel smaller than the front or is it just an optical illusion?
  12. Great idea Matt. I did message you, now I'm back in the country to see if there were any switches left, but I haven't had a response yet.
  13. Hello there....erm...welcome.
  14. Much as I sympathise with Coolrado, this is a little reactionary don't you think? Some people need 4x4s if they live in the country using muddy lanes as seen in the photos. I think Coolrado has more issue with the other driver's speed and post-incident behaviour rather than her vehicle per se. I hope you get everything sorted, Coolrado - you have my best wishes.
  15. Hi Dave - do you have to have a business account with SDL to get the radiator?
  16. Let's hope its not a deleted part eh?
  17. I did this last week and that is not the standard cooler securing cap. See VR owner's third pic. BTW I ended up breaking off the attachment to the crack pipe, so ended up removing the whole front end to do the job properly. What is your engine code?
  18. My dashpot was sticking, so I took it off for a clean and like a real numpty, I tore the cute little gaiter. Anyone know if these can be gotten hold of by themselves , or is it the usual VW "buy the whole engine" scenario? Cheers
