er, actually I did rub it in, but I'll try harder next time! I found it was very easy to use too much and end up with it everywhere, so I now spray it on to the cloth first, then rub it in. I rub it in to make the surface go dark.... I leave it for ten mins then buff off with a soft dry clean cloth... brings it up nicely and NO STREAKS!! :-P

Well if you want to sell seperately let me know as technically I only need two good ones..... One of mine is buckled - potholes  and the other one has very nasty corrosion on it... so if could get two nearly mint ones then would be spot on.
-
I do mine every 3k miles....
-
 - I only paid £54 each all in for the Yokohama AVS Sports!!!
-
Just put standard ones on and leave em alone like me

What are the figures for throttle opening on the VR6 to ensure you are getting full throttle via VAGCOM. Someone mentioned it before (I am sure it was Kev!)... Anyways last night after messing with my VR (and she is sounding ALOT better)... I got these figures: Idle: 9.4 degrees Fully Open: 96.2 degrees That sound about right? - Does to me so cant see the point of messing about with the throttle cable  The rest of the VAG measuring blocks looked nice and healthy too - no codes and ticking over at 680rpm. Happy chappy - BUT I am STILL OFF WITH ITS HEAD!!! Scott

Thanks mate - will be in touch shortly.

Well my missus has just been out in the VR and informed me that its going like a rocket and no evidence of misfire.... strange that - the only thing that I have disturbed is the leads / plugs.... so guess what I'm getting next  Cheers guys. Scott
-
Me and you both mate - lovely looking car but not that special to drive....
-
Top bank of cylinders have white crusty plugs... the bottom bank have clean plugs... very strange but it seems as though the engine is alot healthier than thought... cylinder head is definately coming off though Kev... got most of the bits now so will be started as soon as my engine man says he is ready to go (very busy at mo) £70 for a set of leads aint bad - these BBT ones cost me £50... might see if can get that refunded :-P Will try water trick later Mis-fire is load related and ONLY ever happens when I accelerate off a round about :?: - fine at all other times..... Leads are going in the bin (once have tried to get dosh back  ) Scott
-
Nope not yet - still getting bits together... Checked plugs and they are fine - white crusty deposits. Checked fault codes = NONE! Whats next ? :)
-
I'm not too worried about effort or smell - more about shine :)

Mint sets going for £150.... Manky sets that need re-con'ing about half that.... I am after a set to re-con myself so if selling... pm me :D
-
The DEFO cant be red  They HAVE to be blue or black.... What sort of money are we talking about for the blue igniters or the custom made ones?
-
Yeah I thought as much too mate - but like I said was desperate at the time and forgot all about them.... Where can I get some sensibly priced BERU or blue igniter leads?
-
Dont ya just love it
-
Will give it a whirl... Kev: yep they are indeed BBT leads.... mine fell apart last year and I was desperate for a set quickly.... GSF stumped up the goods - if they are shot reckon can get replaced FOC? lol - forgot all about them to be honest! Where can I get some decent ones cheap? - might replace them for the heck of it....
-
In general the best procedure is to be honest.... Nick: If you are serious about selling I may take them off your hands.... at the right price of course  :-P
-
If its streaking the paint then you arent rubbing it in - you are merely smearing it on.......... Am going to try some of that NXT wax.... still using the gold class myself - is it much better than gold class?
-
Type in VR6 into the model list mate and watch that list shrink - I get 5 for sale within 60 miles!!!
-
Yup - first action is to plug in vagcom.... will post up if error codes. Fuel filter was changed 3 weeks ago for genuine VAG one. Ignition Leads are only 12 months old although they are GSF stuff...
-
I need a set of speedlines if anyone is selling..... my own on the car are to be re-furbed shortly and I dont want to put the VR on bricks
