  1. Any car that has a gold leaf badge as an option must be good... While staying on the subject, I do have these photos of a previous 'draft' of the Corrado successor based on the Passat. I think they probably came from a link on here somewhere, but I'm not sure where exactly.
  2. Hmm apparently that website think things like that are not only acceptable to society but actually cool... http://www.maxxedmotors.com/showreport.php?rid=25 Eep, whatever you do, don't go in the forum... you'll never make it out alive. I almost died from laughing ;)
  3. it's still a silly price, even with the low mileage...
  4. Sounds like it's well worth the investment... how much to new OE injectors cost though? Are you better to just replace them?
  5. The race would be close, but come on, you're in a Corrado - You'll look far cooler, especially if he's got half of B&Q attached to his car :D
  6. I still think that a VR6 Corrado is one of the nicest cars you can get for under £10k and most certainly under £5k. The interior does show it's age, even when it was new, but it still looks great from the outside. If it really bothers you what it looks like, you can always put a TT dash in and mod the ouside ;) I've always thought that the the Fiat Coupe hit too many branches on the ugly tree, even when it was first released and although the performance of the nutty Jap imports is great, they're pretty common and I'm not a big fan. As far as I am concerned, the only other contender in the sub £10k price range is a similar vintage Lotus Elan. However, if you start thinking about £10k-£15k cars, it all starts getting very interesting :D Lotus Carlton anyone? You can also get Boxsters, Chimeras, Elises and a whole host of older exotics for under £15k. Ahh I can but fantasise :D
  7. I'm sure people have had it done before, have a go with doing a search for wheels AND polishing
  8. Yeah I saw that and almost choked. Crazy stuff. I was looking at paying £5.5-£6k tops for a decent one, but I may have to raise that a bit. I guess it doesn't help that it's getting towards summer and people go 'ooh I think I'll change my car...'
  9. ahh it all becomes clear now :D Thanks... I'm itching to get a C, the more time I spend on here the more the money is burning a hole in my pocket...
  10. In my quest to find the perfect C, I really like the leather seats, but the cars seem to be hard to find and the ones I do find have super shiny leather. I'm thinking at the moment, it might be an idea to get one with cloth seats and re-trim them in nice new leather. It looks like it costs around £700 for a re-trim plus door cards, but it'll be brand new leather that will last a long time :D Is there any difference between the actual cloth and leather seats? (other then the stuff covering them!) I know the leather ones are Recaros, so does that mean the cloth ones aren't? Thanks guys
  11. Ok there's a mystic blue C that lives in Saffron Walden on the Debden road somewhere, I dunno if it's still there but lemme know if you're on here :)
  12. So how many cars do you own? Is your C your only means of transport? Although the C is great to drive, how long does yours tend to spend out of action each month? Is that for mods or just fixing stuff? Just interested :D

    Mazda Mx6

    like a Ford badge? :)
  14. Anyone like that next to you would be far too distracting, is what you should be asking is who would you like to wash your car? :D This is beneficial as you are then able to sit and observe with beer in hand, and most importantly your car gets cleaned :)
  15. Anyone know a UK importer for these? http://www.suburban-trunkmonkey.com/
  16. T-Cut is good for getting out slight scuffs and scratches, but as has been said, it cuts a thin layer of paint/lacquer off to do it. If you want to just make your paintwork more shiney, there is a guy on here that sells Swissol, which is a superduper shampoo/wax combo. You can even get a teflon one if you really don't want the sh** to stick :D
  17. Strange that you don't get the same level of grip out of the £9.99 Kiwk fit tyre than you do out of a £60 Bridgie....
  18. Yeah it was on the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon... a big HGV ploughed straight into the pumps. They eventually rebuilt it and it now has a sign saying "no HGV's" As for your grip definitely check your pressures, even cheap rubber shouldn't do that...
  19. Personally I'd rather spend the £700 on something that would make my car handle/perform better than on something that will slow it down, but I guess form over function and all that... :D
  20. :D American parking... http://www.wreckedexotics.com/newphotos ... d358.shtml
  21. The French remind you how many people have been killed by each tree by putting nice black man shape cutouts by them. Lovely.
  22. My advice from experience with go-kart engines (yeah it's not a 2.9l VR6, but their much more highly tuned) is to ALWAYS ALWAYS let it warm up gently, which is probably the high idle advice you've had. Then when the engine is properly warmed up, load it up either going up a hill or accelerating hard and lifting off letting the engine take the load (make sure there's nobody behind you ;) ) There's no point in being gentle with it because if there is something wrong enough to cause it to pop then it will pop anyway. By loading the engine up like this, it beds the piston rings in nicely to get a good fit. As far as oil goes, I'd go with kev's advice on using the VW oil and then change it after the first 1000 miles or so. The fastest karting engines I've seen have been ones that have been thrashed hard straight out of the box and I've read similar articles online saying the same thing. The most popular one is http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm which tells you all about what to do and what not to do. When it comes to it though, the choice is yours :) but whatever you do, never thrash a cold engine :D
  23. They're from Oz, need we say more?
  24. I thought getting a Corrado was interpreted as "start saving" ? ;) Hmm, the idea of extra vibrations don't really appeal, but at the same time I'd like to keep the engine nicely tied down...tricky one. I think get a car before I worry about it too much more, I just want to get an idea how much the common stuff is to replace. Not that i's going to stop me buying a C, I'm too far gone already :D
  25. Yup, straight cut n paste from the Discovery channel website
