  1. Blown, that's another of the buggers... it's got different stickers and wheels Them sneaky Canadians...
  2. I just spent the weekend in Vancouver and look what I saw parked up one day. It's not quite as cool/sad as it first seems, it's not a 200bhp Type-R, rather the lesser 140bhp SiR. It also says 'School liason officer' on the side, so presumably it's just so they can go 'hey kids cops are cool mmkay' :D
  3. You'll find most people that offer warranties will have a 100k cut off, they know it's too risky :)
  4. I'm a bit of a techie jack of all trades. I've been working for a tiny production company that make 'internal communications' videos for lots of big companies over the last few years. I look after the computers and network and do generally techie stuff. My only formal technical certificate is a BEng in Broadcast Engineering that I graduated with last year. To make things confusing I then ran away to Canada for a few months, sat on my arse mostly doing nothing with the odd bit of web work here and there. Luckily I'm travelling round pretty much all of Canada this month and then coming back to England at the end of the month to buy a VR6 C. Oh and to help set up a set of DVD magazines for car/bike/train and plane enthusiats. So look out there will be a feature on the Corrado ;)
  5. Well count me in for some of that. It's a bargain at twice the price! I can just slap some super duper Tippex go faster stripes on and not bother with those engine mods.
  6. If I remember you can get refurbed steering racks for about £150ish, but their quality is suspect. There were a few posts on it not that long ago though, so have a search and see. Acutally, have a look here http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8727
  7. blimey and I thought my insurance was bad.
  8. Oh man that's a relief... I saw the posts on the eGroup list about 'the best Corrado in the world' which linked to those pictures. I was getting very worried, I thought it was turning into the vwvortex forum . Now I realise it's the Tippex car it's much funnier :D
  9. Surely the tax disc isn't worth keeping unless it's from your car... who'se going to want a tax disc from an unknown car from 1980? But then again people collect stamps...
  10. http://www.elephant.co.uk have extremely good rates, but if you're after good customer service too Chris Knott are supposed to be good and offer a CCGB discount. According to this http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10313 you can get them to match an elephant quote if you ask nice enough ;) heh heh yeah you need to go on the vwvortex forum, they only care about what standing quater times they can do
  11. yeah most likely, but it's always fun to speculate :D
  12. According to the Corrado-UK mailing list... I'd like to say don't get too excited, people have been talking about a new Corrado for ages, so until there's an official VW press release, don't count on it :)
  13. Yup yup yup and yup :D The S2's still go for £8-£9k on Autotrader, but even with the revised roof they still leak like a sieve. The engines tend to last forever though. At the time pretty much everyone that drove on (for the press) said it was the best handling car they'd ever and judging by the huge amount of work Lotus put into the development of them (hence the huge price tags) I'd say they probably are pretty good. The styling is a little interesting yes.. just to show prove my anorak status again, the car actually ended up being 4" too short and a bit wide all round because of mess ups in the design stage. It's still no looker compared to the C though.
  14. Erm not wanting to out g33k vr6storm there, but there were 2 runs of the 90's era Elan... The first run was made by Lotus who promptly lost vast amounts of money on every one they made due to the MX-5 coming out at the same time, doing about the same thing and costing a fraction of the price (hairdressers can't afford much). Eventually in 92 GM freaked and told Lotus to stop making them. Bugatti of all people then bought up all the left over bits of the Elan, realised they had pretty much enough for another 800 complete cars, did some mods to the lights etc and sold them in a second run, usually referred to as S2's. Then after Bugatti were done Kia bought up all the tooling and started making them in Korea. 8) so now you know :) I was thinking of getting one instead of a C, but the C is just so much more practical.
  15. Now that's a tasty motor, especially those rear lights. I think I'm going to wet myself...laughing.

    Ready or not?

Ah just needs a quick vacuum and you're all set. You can sit on some hay bails and you'll be laughing :D

    hey I'm new

Thanks chimo, I'll see if I can get hold of zarman. It does mean braving the vortex forum tho

    hey I'm new

I live in Toronto, but I don't have a car  I need someone to adopt me for the day. I've been trying to post on the Candian forum, but the board emails never arrive telling me what my preset password is, so I can't post. Ho hum, roll on June when I can come back to England and get myself a nice VR6 :D
  19. I was out pub crawling in Toronto on Queen St. last night and I almost wet myself when I saw this parked up outside a kebabbery. Nice black leather interior too :D I don't suppose anyone on here will claim ownership, but ya never know...

    hey I'm new

Welcome to the forum :D Obviously, this is the best Corrado forum, but make sure you check out the Corrado Club of Canada site and their forum for events in Canada as well. They have a big meet in Toronto coming up on the 29th May (bit of a trek from PEI tho..)
  21. Surely Alcantra has to be the way to go?
  22. Heh heh you're photochop efforts were better than mine :)
  23. This is my attempt...others are welcome to have a go... let me know if it's what you want or not.
  24. Err that's not going to be an easy job. Making the wheel centres grey is do-able but because the car is so dark it's hard to pull out the colous used in the car from the tarmac. You'll end up with red tarmac and the car in a funny shade of dark red. ... but if you can find a red car I can cut put those wheels on it with grey centres
  25. err no :) Although saying that, there's not a lot in the way of nice coupés coming from the rest of the world :(
