Does anyone have a of/s tow eye cap? Mine is missing and passenger side is present. Looks odd all alone. Thanks
-
Strange one this, I would imagine the central locking is purely controlled via the pump.
-
They do look similar, however I would have thought a tad small for the Audi. Forgot to bring the other two wheels into work. Will get some proper photos up tomorrow if anyone is interested.
-
Top man. I doubt I would have ever realised this.
-
Hmm, interesting. Thanks Will post up some proper photos of them shortly.

Thanks. Nope, no rubbing with the 215 tyres. If anyone is interested the other set of wheels I will be putting up for sale. Unfortunately I don't have a clue what they are or what car they came off. Specs are: 5x100 7J 16" Not sure on the offset so will have to take a look inside the wheels. Tyre's on them are 205/40/16 some life left in them but could do with a change eventually.

Thought I'd post some pictures of the VR Had a G60 back in 2014 and wished I'd never sold it so I went back and got a VR6 July 2017 Not had the VR long by this point however plenty of work put in and this was it's current state summer last year. Paint/All brakes/complete suspension refurb/headlamps/indicator lamps/85% interior completion. My aim with the car exterior wise is to keep it as original as possible, excluding wheels/ suspension. Shiny

:bonk: Much appreciated

Jim, You were correct, wire had perished and was the cause of the intermittent read out.

Your looking at around a 10-15bhp increase, will also be alot more responsive and the chip will help with digi lag. If you go the stage 4 route/68mm pulley/chip I would add an RSR outlet to replace the factory plastic unit, further increase in flow. Whilst your there might as well throw in an adjustable FPR

Looks absolutely lovely. A very tidy G60, any pictures of the engine bay and interior?

for sale Mystic blue Corrado VR6 Storm (1995)
virtuoso23 replied to Stormski's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
Why not just keep the car, sounds like you really enjoy it and it seems you are having a good time conversing with the forum, rolling road, servicing etc. From first hand experience as with many other owners on here selling a Corrado seems like a logical decision at the time but afterwards there's gaping hole in your soul. -
Good thinking, I'll check this tonight.

for sale Mystic blue Corrado VR6 Storm (1995)
virtuoso23 replied to Stormski's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
At 163bhp at the Flywheel your looking at around 135bhp to the wheels. Original power at 190bhp to the Flywheel and your looking at 160bhp to the wheels Given that this car has done more millage then I have ever seen on a VR6 I would say it's probably bang on and well done to it. There's potential to reclaim some lost power here but I wouldn't say a huge amount. -
Nope, absolutely no mayo, even upon inspection prior to starting for the first time after 4 months, so all good there. Car did misfire on idle but a good run rectified this. Thanks for your advise.

Hi dr_mat, okay as long as this normal then that's fine. When I used to own my own G60 I used to cycle through the MFA now and again and the oil temp readout was always rock solid at the value it read regardless, this threw me off with the VR6 which made me ask the question. Your 100% correct about not using the car enough however it has been winter, lots of fun to come..:smug:
-
Just brought the VR out after winter hibernation and my oil temp seems to reading inaccurately. Issue: After starting the car and driving, oil temp comes up at 50c normal operation. Slowly rises as normal up to around 85-90, again fine. Click MFA and cycle back to oil temp and it changes. So for example driving normally, check oil temp 85c lets say. Cycle through MFA and it will drop to 75c or rise to 90c etc Other than that everything is fine. Any suggestions?

for sale Mystic blue Corrado VR6 Storm (1995)
virtuoso23 replied to Stormski's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
Nice Storm however it would be highly unlikely anyone would pay this price given the milage and cost of factoring in a VR6 engine rebuild. Not to mention other areas that may not be up to scratch. Still 310,000 miles is brilliant and now makes me think mines a baby. -
The "Will these wheels and tyres fit" thread
virtuoso23 replied to gradeAfailure's topic in Exterior
Hi Seanl82, wheels have a offset of ET25. I was thinking 15mm Hubcentric spacers up front and 15 or 20mm rear. My only concern with the 45 profile over the 40 is the wheels looking too blooney. Whats you opinon on the tyre width 205/215 Many thanks for your reply. Will -
The "Will these wheels and tyres fit" thread
virtuoso23 replied to gradeAfailure's topic in Exterior
Hey guys, Picked up a set of Brock B2 16" 7.5J wheels for the VR and was wondering what best size tyre to put on. Trial fitted the new wheels last night with the current 195/40/16 on them and I thought they looked terrible. Stretched and lost in the arch. I was thinking 205/40/16 or 215/40/16 Was leaning more towards the 215 as tyre options available for the 215's are greater. Will have to use spacers also as the wheels foul the calipers currently. Any comments on fitment issues Thanks!!:smug: -
The definitive "What Air Filter?" discussion thread
virtuoso23 replied to CazzaVR's topic in Engine Bay
Does anyone know the air intake pipe diameter for the VR6, looking to put a filter on. Thanks -
Hey guys, I have always ran my VR on 10w40 grade oil and have recently acquired some Millers CFS 10W60 Ester oil. Would this be safe to use in the VR6, the car has done an original 193,000 miles with no issues and doesn't use hardly any oil, just thought I'd get your advise. Thanks
-
Hi Si, thank you for your input. Yes thinking about it you are correct in relation to the crankshaft seal being located further down so possibly I can rule that out. The oil galley is certainly leaking which explains the oil loss and I do agree there is also some coolant present which must be coming from the water pump due to the location. Oil cooler and cam cover gasket were done a few weeks ago so this also can be ruled out. After I cleaned everything as best I could with brake cleaner the side of the head looked dry also so I think this too can be ruled out. Going to get stuck in this weekend before I put the VR away for the winter. Looks like new oil galley plug and new water pump I would think. What do you reckon Si and anyone else if reading. Thank you
