I can get the fault codes tomorrow as they're in the garage, there's been a lot of toothsucking this week!! I doubt it will be transmission Oil though, that was changed professionally 12 months and about 2k miles ago using all genuine VAG fluids and filters etc, I have a feeling this will be something altogether more painful and expensive!

Transmission Oil was done about 12 months ago, proper VAG fluid used, scan says gearbox fault!!!! No real surprise there!

I know the automatic VR6 wasn't everyone's cup of tea (just getting that out there before the inevitable comments about manual conversion or scrapping!) but my wife only drives auto and I wanted a Corrado so a compromise was reached! The problem I have is that the Corrados automatic gearbox appears to be stuck in 3rd gear when drive is engaged, believe it or not she still drives but revs quite high when pulling off, other than that you can't really tell much is wrong. She's not currently a daily driver although she was until July this year so we're trying not to drive her until she's better. There's no way I'm getting rid of her or scrapping her so my questions are: 1. Does anyone know the gearbox code for a '93 VR6 automatic? 2. Does anyone know of any other VAG cars that used the same gearbox? And 3. Does anyone know of any business that would specialise in this kind of work ?(preferably in South Wales but will travel) I realise it won't be cheap but I'm not letting go too easily!

Anyone have a drivers side door handle for a VR6? Mrs has snapped the striker on hers and the repair looks a bit fiddly to me!

Ive got a nearly complete cassette spare in my garage but no lighting in there, I'll have a look in the morning!

Just bought a set from ebay, they were from Rayne Automotive but I couldn't get their own website to put them in the basket. When I checked they also sell through Ebay so I bought them there. They are a little more expensive on Ebay, probably because of the Ebay fees! 😬 Thanks for all the advice again, everytime I want to do something to the Corrado you guys are an amazing source of info!

Is upgrading the qiring difficult ot could it be done by most DIY ers? Also, are there kits to avoid and where's the best place to source them?

Is there a "best way" to upgrade the headlights or is it a bit trial and error?

Is there a company anyone has used near or even in Wales who could sort out this kind of upgrade for me? I can do it myself on Forza but Im pretty sure if I tried that in real life it would end badly, VERY badly!

Thanks for the replies. She was serviced by a performance car specialist in September and the Lambda and Crankshaft sensors were replaced to help her through the emissions test at the last MOT, around the same time. She generally runs really well, because I'm changing to a new SS exhaust I was wondering if there'd be much extra benefit from having her remapped at the same time, it sounds from the replies that they're at best hit and miss and at worst a bit pointless!

I'm putting a new Longlife SS cat back exhaust on the VR6 this coming Monday at a cost of 360 squids. The company also do remaps, is it worth getting a remap at the same time as the new exhaust? It's only about 12bhp gain but I dont know what other difference it could make. Has anyone got experience of remapping a VR6 and what could I expect for the extra 160 bucks?

Been driving a moonlight blue VR6 on Forza Horizons 2 since boxing day, looks pretty much the same as the one I have outside except I won't get sent to prison no matter how much of a bell end I am driving it. Anyone on here fancy a race xbox live gamertag is pennock56
