  1. It totally depends upon the condition of the car itself. Read the advert for it several times and see how much effort the seller has put into trying to sell it, does he seem like he has cared for the car? Give him a call and find out as much information as you can about it after reading the buyers guide on here. The sunroof on mine works perfectly but I hardly ever use it so for me I wouldn't care but I can't comment for you. Is it a VR6?
  2. Having just been doing exactly this stuff too I'm with KipVR. There are a pair of bolts going straight through it that were jammed tight on mine and had to cut them out. Might also be worth replacing the spring that sits in there and all nuts and bolts too. My spring was massively corroded, they are still available at VW too. Cheapest place I found the bias valve was in the link below. It doesn't come with the 2 bolts though, you'll need to talk to VW. Best of luck. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221088124536 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Also kind of that area too and don't mind helping out if you ever need it. I'm near Waterlooville. Offer also there to go for spin or go check one over if you find a decent one. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. L Reg gray or silver Corrado on the A3 south bound just past Waterlooville at 4:00pm. Waved a lot then realised I was in my clio!
  5. Great looking Black or dark blue Corrado heading North on the A3 near Petersfield yesterday at about 12:00pm.
  6. Okay cool, I'll give that a go and see if it makes the noise worse.
  7. Absolutely no idea, if anything I'd actually say I'm pretty light footed when it comes to my driving style. I guess just perished over time. I just need to find the time to check them both out or whether its the drive shafts and CV boot like Ray suggested. Hopefully tomorrow evening I'll know what bits to order.
  8. Brilliant thanks for the ideas. I'll go and check the rear later this evening. Is there anyway you guys know of to properly check a drive shaft or CV joint should the rear engine mount be okay? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Luckily the rado is a second car so I'll not drive it for a while until these things are fixed, just need to know what it actually is that's going. So I've just popped outside to see if I can get it to make the noise with the car stationary. If I put it in first and gently let the clutch up it doesn't make it but if I give it a few revs and let it up quite fast but only to the biting point it makes the bang. If I have just changed the front engine mount, what else could it be?
  10. Oh I should have mentioned that I just changed front engine mount last week which cured another noise it was making. This banging was there before I changed it and is still there after :-(
  11. Hello chaps. Time to play the fun game of guess that worrying noise and this is the first of 2 noises that I have noticed the Corrado VR6 making. This noise I reckon is best described as a clatter/rattle/chirp sort of noise. It seems to be from the passenger side front and is a whole lot worse when going over pot holes and bumps in the road although the chirp part of it can sometimes be heard when stationary and revving the engine but only a little bit. In this video I drove along side a long brick wall in Neutral so the noise is reflected off of that brick wall. I've had a mate say it could be front wishbone rear bush but not really sure. And below is the video for the second noise. This noise is a sort of bang/knocking noise that can be heard only on acceleration. It doesn't have to be hard acceleration. It sounds like its coming from right in front of the drivers seat in the engine bay. It seems to be worst and most noticable when tapping the throttle in first and second gear. Any help would be most appreciated. You can hear the noise better through tinny phone speakers than through good PC ones as the bass gets in the way a lot.
  12. Just in case you didn't get my PM, I'll take those cams off your hands. Thanks Dave
  13. It was the drivers side rear. I managed to fix the retrator its just the bolt I can't find for the life of me, I think it might have fallen into the depths of the car somewhere while the trim was off. How much would you want for it mate? Cheers. Dave
  14. Removed my seat belt to repair a jammed retractor and have managed to loose the bolt that connects it to the car, anyone have one of these spare??? Thanks!
  15. Hi Jim, I have a grey interior in my Corrado but the heater vents are a kind of black as is the ash tray. Are they all the same colour? If so I'll probably take the passenger side vent and the ash tray pull out. What price For those? I managed to fix my seat belt so don't need that now. £150 for the rear beam is quite a lot more than I was looking to spend as Calne is a bit of a treck from Portsmouth to come grab it. I'll probably look for one more local. Cheers.
  16. Hi Jim, I'm looking for a few bits you might have. Where are you based? I'm looking for a rear beam that I can refurb so nothing too rotten, a passenger side heating vent (black), a black ash tray, and a rear drivers side seat belt. By engine hoses are they silicon after market ones or the original ones? Also what anti roll bar is it? Cheers: Dave
  17. I've been changing over to MK4 rears and 288mm front calipers on my 95 VR6 and surprisingly nearly all the hard lines seem to be in spot on condition, someone has clearly spent a lot of time keeping everything nice and protected. However there is one line that is in an absolute state, it is the short one for the front passenger side. The current one is both properly corroded as well as the flare nut being totally fused to the flexi hose and rounded off immediately when trying to remove it. There was a chap on here building new lines but after a couple of times trying to contact him and no reply I assume he is no longer making them, I was wondering if there is anyone else on here able to make replacement steel lines???? In case that doesn't work out I do have a friend who says he might be able to do it for me but asked me to try on here first as he has only done copper ones in the past. He says he would also need the line to use as a template and as I'll need to cut mine to get it out, I wondered if someone has an old one they want rid of that hasn't been cut? Cheers. Dave
  18. My Corrado has been laid up for about 2 months now after what I thought was the head gasket blowing when a huge plume of steam came out from under the bonnet. What with me going on holiday and not really having time to investigate I finally had a poke around today and found the T shaped hose that goes to the throttle body, heat exchange and block has completely burst. Does anyone have a used one I can try fitting to see if the car works or if I have done any more damage whilst it overheated?
  19. Taking my door handles off to repair and noticed only the drivers side has both rubber seals. The passenger side is missing the one that would be at the front of the car but has the one at the rear side. Anyone have one of these?
  20. Just looked up what heli coils and its definitely not a bad idea but it looks like that option may be more expensive and more effort than actually buying another second hand one lol. I think I paid £25 for the pair.
  21. Went to go and change the rear calipers over to Mk 4 ones today and got them both installed ready to go except for when I went to tighten the banjo bolt in the second one I put in, I noticed the thread had already been stripped on the caliper itself. The other one is fine and went on no problem. The car has failed its MOT on the handbrake, hence the need to do this job and I desperately need it back on the road, so I'm hoping someone on here has a usable caliper that they can send me. Thanks! Dave
