Steve! i must say they look bloody stunning!!! In fact i would say that they look better on Your Nugget Yellow Rado than on my old Moonlight Blue rado!! Told ya they would look good! Glad your happy! Atleast they went to a good home! You will be pleased to know the money you paid me for the wheels has already been spent... nothing to do with cars tho... lol More like a 2 week safari Holiday in Kenya!! £1500 Per Person!! :shock: -
overtaking isnt too bad... least i have the power to be able to do it quickly, as you have to hang back quite a bit to make sure the path is clear... hehe :D

i am actually quite enjoying driving cack handed... luv the look on peoples faces when they dont see anyone on the normal drivers side! hehe Not as bad as i first thought.. easier than i expected it to be, i can definatley live with it ;-)

Thanks man! By the looks of things the CTN box is the one to go for then! the 2L 16v box isnt much better than a CBA in terms of the first few gears.. not sure whether it would be worth the effort.. I am looking at running Approx 250bhp with the ED1... the gearbox i have in it now will be a nightmare...! That Diesel box maybe worth looking into as the long gearing compared to the others is well suited to the Torque of the G60 motor....?

CTW..., seeing as you are a bit of a "dab hand" on the old Gearboxes.. do you have the info for a Standard Mk3 16v CDA box? I am looking into putting one of these into the Ed1... i am getting fed up with the standard Gear ratios already!

yeah but if the marks on the flywheel are out then not only is the cam timing out.. the ignition timing is out also... :D For now just time everything up using the crank pulley mark.. you will need to dial in 6 degs of advance on a timing gun tho.. to set it up correctly when doing the Ignition timing.

you will prob find that the Flywheel hasnt been put back on correctly.. and is now out compared to the crank pulley mark?? There should be 2 marks on the flywheel... one at TDC another 6 Deg BTDC.. The crank pulley mark is at TDC.. that is rarely wrong tbh.. it maybe out by +/- 1 degree but least it will give you a better idea of where the engine should be as this is rarely removed unlike a clutch flywheel.

I wouldnt be too impressed tbh.... if i went along to see how my car was going and found it being used as a bloody storage rack, i think i would have a few short words to say!! i know where this bodyshop is too... takes the piss a bit really...

This does sound very interesting!! might wait a while i think... already got a brand new VAG bottom end on the ED1 so dont really wanna start thinking about 2L at this stage but defo worth thinking about!! gunna buy Golf + TM and have a good read!

yeah... never heard of using a T4 Engine to make a 2L G60 lump..?? wonder how reliable it would be

My mate Popped round today that bought my Rado from me.. I noticed a quite a bit of smoke around the engine bay upon cold startup?? Smelt very much like Rich Exhaust fumes?? Coming from underneath the Manifold near the head?? Could it be that its cracked or the Gaskets are leaking?? Its only been on the car for a bloody year!!! Dont really wanna start taking it all apart for him if its something that could be a major problem??? Also noticed tiny sparks coming from the manifold flanges on the engine overrun...? which i am guessing is just burning fuel and nothing to worry about i hope.. as it looks as it may not be sealing properly...

its prob just the "smaller" big ends that are knocking... these are the weak point on the G60 block.. swap them over with some MK3 Golf Tdi shells.. Relatively easy to do aswell. Not sure on the part no. for these.. i am sure someone will jump in and answer all...lol

They look like the pics from that guy at SantaPod, db photography or something...?! I am getting a few of them printed out and framed... worthwhile i think.. something to remember the car by! just gotta choose which ones i want printed..lol

Well... The Rado goes on Friday evening! gunna be gutted to see her go after the years i ve had with it! awesome car! no doubt i will get another rado sometime..! Just wanna say a huge thanks to everyone on here for your help over the years!! this Forum Rocks!! Ive told Matt (Matt G60) the guy buying my car to sign up as soon as!! so you can keep an eye out for the progress on the rado after its left me! No doubt i will still hang around on this forum... as in general its one of the best forums around at the moment! so i wont be far away..lol Anyway Its gunna be a fresh start now.. with a very nice Ed1 G60 that i am also picking up Friday evening! cant wait.. shes a beaut..!!!!

Yeah i can understand where you are coming from tbh... its not that i dont like my rado anymore, I luv it! but i feel the need to have a change.... i am sure i will own another rado again some day.. i am still only 23 and still gotta years left in me yet.. Just cant wait to see the reaction the GF will have when i bring this golf home... she doesnt like lhd cars at all...lol :D

Well this is the replacement... hopefully if all goes to plan i should own it soon... Cant wait..May change the wheels for some "WORK" wheels not sure yet tho... Its mint ED1 Spec Mk2 Golf G60! has a brand new engine, running approx 210bhp... so will mate nicely together with my lysholm when it arrives!!
