Boys and girls, I am one these lucky people to have a swimming pool in my car. I have a question about the soundproofing. Corvr6 mentioned something about using the original carpet underlay. Anyone have any ideas how well something like 'Dynamat' or 'Brown Bread' would do the same business? I would imagine the stealers would charge a fortune for new soundproofing. Not really keen on putting the same old (albeit less smelly) soundproofing back. Does the soundproofing have to perform upto some standards e.g. Dynamat couldn't handle?

Kevin, Yeah, I was reading your thread about the controls, that's why I am after a Passat control unit. I haven't dared to prise the fascia off yet, but I get the stiff controls, the horrible grinding noise... To make matters worse, the windscreen vent seems to be stuck since I get only half the airflow on the passenger side, compared to the driver's side. Which means that passenger side window and windscreen take twice as long, if not longer, to demist :( I didn't quite understand the 'how-to' thread actually... if I get the grinding noise, I have to replace the whole control unit, right? What if it is just the demisting I am worried about? Does that then mean I just need to get the windscreen bowden cable from stealers? Anyways, if you can have a look, I'd be ever so grateful Kevin! Cheers, Rica

Sorry for asking so many questions, I like to find out as many facts as possible before I make a fool of myself... What's the best way of trying to find parts from breakers? Are there any on the web that update their sites frequently enough? Any recommendations for breakers around the Herts area? Watford? I am after the heater controls from a Passat, maybe even a moonroof from a Passat and would like to have a look at old Audi/VW/Skoda electrically folding wing mirrors. Please help poor me :) P.S. I know of GPC VW & Audi, will try them soon Rica

Ladies and gents, I've now bought the Meguiars Quick Clay kit. My question is, how do you ppl store the clay? It comes wrapped tight in plastic, but what about afterwards? I've bought a small tupperwarelike box and was going to put ever so little of water at the bottom and seal it tight. Any suggestions? Cheers Rica

I know this is late but, You know what? I hate you jimbo-corrado, for having such a gorgeous C! And some of the pictures you've taken... I WANT! :) Thanks for letting me have a rant Rica

Hello boys and girls, This is not very well done, is freaky and so on. But it is late... http://veepers01.budlight.com/service/R ... 635E514682 BTW, if you didn't understand, it's trying to say: "I want coilovers, bigger rims and more shiny bits. Please spend loads of money on meee..." Rica Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

dsdev, I agree with dazzyvr6. My bar was bludgeoned when I bought the C. I was foolish enough to think it is merely a trim that goes below the lights. I managed to get mine sorted by a good bodyshop, but it still cost me £150. Rest of it shouldn't be that painful, I hope. Naturally, I think that the Corrado looks gorgeous as it is so I would try to return it to the same state before your accident, although, I am becoming more and more tempted by a Rieger grill 8) Not helping you much by saying it is up to you really  You're the one driving it, no one else Have fun though! Rica

I drive a VR and I surely don't let my bf have a go in the C! He can stick to his A3 1.8T 8) Rica

Andi, What do you mean by a 'pair' in this message? The original message was that for about £40, you get two sets of dials. Are you now selling them in single sets? Just wanting to know :) Oh btw, I am still definitely in, as long as they stay black/black :) Rica

Gavin, I have Paint Shop Pro. But you can do the same thing (in Win environments) by pressing 'print screen' button. Then open somekind of a image handling program (Paint, Microsoft Photo Editor, third party...) and choose usually 'Edit, Paste (as new image)'. It varies. But you get the picture. 8) Rica

David, I noticed no 10 missing as soon as I posted... I've edited the post and have added a pic reartrimcont.jpg. Is it not available to you? I can see it in my post. If you can't see it, I'll try posting again... And yes, the reason why I just captured the pictures, is that I don't always understand what the hell the numbers and sub-letters refer to... Hopefully someone else can help (?) Rica

David, Here goes... I've actually captured the pages I think you need, someone else can fathom which number you need to quote to the monkeys :) Hope these are the things you need. Rica

Chapman M Auto Services rear of 258, Hatfield Rd St. Albans Hertfordshire AL1 4UN Tel: 01727 844179 Thanks Rica

Alright own up! Whose is it? As seen on 'As Time Goes By', sometime, someday *sorry* massive headache, feeling stoopid, pissed off about the rain outside etc. Ka`

Hello people, I would like to recommend M Chapman's Audi and VW specialists for anyone within nice distance from St. Albans. I've had my C for under a year and I curse myself for not taking it to Chapman's before. I've had service from them now and since I said I hadn't had the C for long, they went over it thoroughly, pointing out things that might go. And no, I didn't get the idea they were trying to pull wool over my eyes. To add to the glory, I had trouble with my headlights a couple of days ago. I didn't have any So I drove the C to the garage as fast as I could while it was still twilight (with sidelights only) and he spent good 30 minutes sorting out the connections with an uprated loom and so on. No charge! Try to find service like that among the stealers :) Rica

Ka` replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat

How's that then dubster82? Rica
-
Andi, Well, you've done a lot of work and I appreciate that. It seems this 'Zarman' person on the Vortex forums seems to 'make' stuff like this to an extent. He also advertises for this Dub Designs in his sig. Worth asking him? But yes, don't definitely want to undermine the hours and money you've put in this already! Rica

I agree CorradoVR6, The VWVORTEX dials are rather gorgeous :) Rica
-
Is it still ok, to join this group buy? I've been following this thread to see how the dials will turn out, but now it is down to a vote. Have just a couple of questions, which are probably too late to ask, I'll try anyways 1) Is "Corrado" going to be kept on one of the dials? 2) Is the colour of the dials at night going to be Golf mark IV blue, or the more sophisticated whitish blue of Audis? Thanks, Rica

Right, This neighbourhood used to be nice. I've only lived here for two years, but the past four months have been shite. First I had my indicator/fog clusters knicked while on a long weekend away.... This morning I open the door for my neighbour, only to be told that someone has gracefully passed their key down the side. All three panels! What the hell is this world coming to? I suppose I should be happy, the lovely sreknaw actually drew SHAPES on another car, not too far away from where my C was parked. What has happened to your C, making you want to imitate the 'bash car door to head' scene in Lock, Stock? Rica

Joe, Instant respect :) That is very lovely indeed Rica
