  1. I am offered a 1992 audi 80 ( 6 cyl. engi) ... did the 80 model ever come in 6 cyli.?? the guy selling it swears it is all original and it is a stock engine.
  2. has anyone done this ?can somebody shed a light at the bureaucracy side of the process ? and how easy it is to register it in the UK?
  3. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/mai ... tat112.xml would anybody buy this peice in the uk ??? look at those HOT wheels.
  4. check the hose from ecu for cracks should be exact. 1m long, and try to change the blue temp sensor ? it seems every thing that goes wrong with the g60 model is related to this stupid sensor.also check for bad grounds. I still can't figure out why mine wont restart after it warms up.
  5. Hi, my 1990 G60 still won't restart when warm, it starts fine when cold. i managed to make it start (when warm), by unpluging the blue temp sensor. though it will run rich with lots of black smoke.since this problem started, I changed the blue sensor, and the lambda. I am afraid its the ECU or maybe a faulty wiring ?any ideas?.
  6. alright thanks Crasher I'll check that tommorow .does this feed come from the intake man. or the Exhaust . and could this be an electrical problem because that weird noise I was mentioning seemed to go away when I disconect the battery earth ? either way i'll have to send it to a technician but I thought i'll check in here first as it seems that the forum is becoming more helpfull than any vw service I know of.
  7. it had this light hmmm) noise near where the brake servo is this morning It can only be heard if I open the hood . now the brake pedal is very hard and the brakes barely work. what could be the cause of this.
  8. I don't believe there is a fuse for the solenoid but there is the load reduction relay which is no. 4 on the box that you can check , I'd first check the ignition switch and the wiring of the starter .
  9. yep thats the one, sorry for posting again ..

    Lambda. price?

which wire should I connect to the chassis ground?

    Lambda. price?

I have a 4 wire connector with no ground attached to the chassis.. but there is a brown wire that is sticking out from the rear engine mount that has been cut.. so I figure that at some point the sensor was changed by a previous owner with the wrong one installed ?? I think I'll just get the 3 wire bosch universal lambda sen. and rewire it and hope it will work fine :|
  20. I want to buy a new lambda sensor for my 1990 g60 , I have seen them sell for around 130 USD on ebay but I just stumbled to this site which sells for 23 USD (bosch) can some one check the pic on this site and confirm that this is the right one.... thanks alot. http://www.racepages.com/oxygen/parts.p ... &year=1990
  21. cool. :D take the headlights switch off and check if the wires has been messed with , as far as I know the headlights loom is not connected with the ignition wires in any way.

    lambda wiring help.

Yes thnx Ian :) so I guess the violet is connected to the black, and the black to the grey which then connects to ground and the other two red ,brown connect to the 2 whites.

    lambda wiring help.

Gavin the thing that puzzles me is that the grey wire that comes out of the o2 sensor is connected to a bolt on the chasis, in what seems to be ground. the rest 3 go to the loom : 2 whites connect to the red and black and one black connect to the violet on the loom as you said, so I am left with the brown in loom not connected anywhere  should there be a ground connection to the body at all? ..If any one could post a pic of the lambda connection I will appreciate it very much..
  24. get a second hand one and rebuild it ..that should be around a 1k$ or even less.. I think the charger is supposed to let some oil pass to the intake mainly oil vapor from the breather but not much..take out the boost tube that comes out from the charger to the intercooler if it is drenched in oil then it's time for a new charger . or you can take the charger out and open it and see how bad the seals are and if it can be rebuild . try to contact g-man here on the forum he can be more helpful.. :)
  25. poor performance ,,bad idiling,,, you name it.. lots of my recent problems with my car were caused by ground breakoffs in my loom , I think from being exposed to heat and oil/grease over the years made them dry and easily breakable. last time I tried to install the loom, the car did not fire up at all, i was following the benetely book and found out that the pins differ from the 1991 model to mine. :| i will check to see which pins are different but I was hoping someone here has done this before.
