    Lowering caps?

kevhaywire Have you got the part number for the lowering cup's so that i can just phone up and order them ? I rang a few places before about them and they were all telling me they don't do them (i think it's because they've had trouble getting the right one's in the past)Mine's a 93 VR6 with the large spring cap's on it Cheers
  7. Check all steel brake pipe's for corrosion and also check flexible brake pipe steel end's for corrosion and also pipe's for bulge's. If there is any corrosion give them a clean with a wire brush and either grease them up. Also check tyre tread depth's,wiper's washer's horn all work
  8. I sold a gearstick gaitor on Ebay last year just like the with the Storm badge and a cut out for a multilock.
  9. I didnt know that they made a 2.0 8v automatic  It must be really sluggish and underpowered..
  10. What engine is it by the way ?
  11. Did the tester have a white cane ?
  12. Welcome to the forum The ABS could be a number of thing's really so it's difficult to say really. The best thing to do is to get it VAG COM or similar and take it from there.Does the light go out on start up or does it stay on permantly ? One other thing check to see if the aircon works because if doesnt it could get a bit pricey to sort it out :( When i bought mine the aircon was'nt working and it ended up needing a new condensor and drier and to fit them you have to take the front of the car off (bumper, slampanel etc) One last thing make sure everthing work's Good luck
  13. Different shade to mine then - mine's "LA9V" ..... LA9V here too 8)
  14. All the one's that i've seen have been bolted on but there probably are some that are riveted  Dubweiser is the bolt that youre talking about vertical?/ because if it is i dont't think you're going to shift it by hitting it you need to hit the part that the bolt goes into the while applying some downward pressure  O too late never mind.....
  15. The 3 bolt's that hold the ball joint to the wishbone, i just find it easier to undo them rather than beating the ball joint with a hammer..
  16. Why don't you just udo the 3 bolt's instead it will be much easier.
  17. Obviously there not genuine leads as they dont have the VW logo on them but the one's i've just taken off were stamped with Bremi and they also had the VW logo on them,so bremi must make them originally.. They should have been £51 +vat but i'm in the motor trade so i got them for £35+vat ...
  18. Just to let you know i've fitted them today and they are exactly the same as the original's (which are also made by Bremi ) so i hope they last as long as the original's which have been on for 11 Year's :D
  19. I did mine at work a couple of week's ago and it was a bit of a bastard of a job i Iended up fitting a new load sensing valve as well as new braided hoses and steel pipe's while i was at it (main brake pipes and front pipe's as well),infact ther's only 2 pipes on the car that have'nt been replaced
  20. I've ended up buying some Bremi ones from ECP i paid £35+vat... Bargain I hope they'll be okay :)
  21. L reg poss green vr6 on the M67 & then on the M60 heading towards Manchester
  22. I'm going to get some new plug' leads tommorow ( hopefully to cure the slight missfire on tickover) can someone tell me who make's the originals is it Beru or some one else?
  23. Sound's like mine really i don't think there's anything wrong with it though .The heater seem's to warm up okay on mine . I think you need to bridge diagonally across the multi plug to make the gauge read full ,if you bridge it one way the coolant run on pump should opperate and the other way should make the gauge read full scale  ,i'm sure someone will come along to confirm this......
  24. As far as i know the yellow sender opperates the gauge and the coolant run on pump,i changed the yellow sender on mine and bought one from GSF, after i fitted it the gauge was reading around 130 dergee's C !!! so i ended up fitting one from the mainsteeler and now all's well.Have you fitted a genuine sender or not?
