Aye,they do need replacing really with being noisy...suppose it may be worth replacing the belt too? Is that what the dust will be from? slipping? Cheers m8. Neil. :)

You got that right steveo m8  Ive regreased em a while ago but they have gone noisy again :( Will have to wait on new ones by the looks of it. Does the above pic look like thats my problem? or should i tweak the adjustable tensioner? Cheers,Neil.

    G60 belt slip?

You think so m8? is the dust a normal side effect of that? There is a slightly noisy roller actually (one of the plastic ones) expensive from gsf? or better from the dealers? Any more info/idea's appreciated. Cheers,Neil. :)

  11. Hi m8, On the right hand side of the cylinder head there are 3 (iirc) senders with single spade terminals. Just swap them around, and see if the problem goes away. It dosn't matter which way they go as they are all the same part number. (in fact the above is only worth trying if it wont idle at all) If that shows no impovement it sounds like the isv (idle stabilisation valve) has stopped working. Its a cylinder shaped thing that should be buzzing just with the ignition on. Neil. :)

    Polish for tailpipe

Always used autosol too,on a standard g60 tailpipe 8) Neil.
  13. Wouldn't know how to if im honest m8  not too familiar with the hydraulic set up... Although i can possibly work it out if i have a look? Cheers for any help m8. Neil. :)
  14. Cheers guys...Not sure what to look at really. :( The clutch pedal seems to feel a bit soft in the mornings but the level is always fine... Goes straight into 3rd gear no messing when sat standing. And yep the ol' circlip is there walesy m8. Cheers,Neil. :)
  15. Aye,can see why that sounds like the syncro m8 :( Mine just dosnt go in gear at all until i back off and try again..Never crunches at all actually going into 2nd at normal driving speeds or giving it a Bit of stick...Just a pronblem when really winding it up :( Neil.
  16. Hi m8,it dosnt give the impession of a worn synch...No better or worse when the car is up to temp. Its as though the clutch isn't engaging properly or fast enough :? Just wont go in 2nd gear at all if i wind it up in 1st... Hardly drive like that but its pretty annoying knowing the problem is there. Thinking about it,i dont think worn engine mounts would have this effect being a hydraulic clutch rather than a cable that would move/stretch? Neil.
  17. Another little problem ive got :D  I can not set off from standing and go for second gear without it not wanting to go in and making a horrible noise :( kind of if you cant find it grind it! Its only a problem if i wind it up in 1st gear, any idea's? im running a solid front engine mount. Maybe the other mounts are fecked? Cheers,Neil. :)

    G60 belt slip?

How do guys... Had a bit of fun with a bike earlier today (on a private back road 8) ) He never got past me but the rado just hasn't felt too lively for a while now... When i got home i just checked under the bonnet for any signs of problems and noticed a lot of dust on the underside of the bonnet above the charger pulley. Im guessing my belts slipping at high rpm? I run a jabbasport adjustable tensioner so just wondering if i should give it a tweak, but im not entirely sure how tight to go? :? Neil. :)
  19. Hiya m8 :) Ideally you just want to be using a very good wax on fresh paint (at least a couple of weeks old though)...Especially if the finish is good and you are happy with it? 8) A wax will keep it smooth/buffed and sealed from the elements that make it rough....dull and open to the elements. Depending on how often you wash/wax will depict on how often you should use a polish. Of course if the paint was knocking on a bit...it would be best to stick to one product at a time to bring it up before moving onto the next. Feel free to tell me what the finish is like/what paint was used/and what you are looking to achieve and ill try to help. Neil. :)

    twin 40's

Carbs can offer a nice increase in both power and torque if set up/jetted correctly. And shouldn't be hard to maintain if they are in good order. Only time they need constant adjustment is if the spindles are worn or the carbs are generally tired...Or somebody is hidden under the bonnet twiddling things  Neil. :)
  21. Will probably keep it as long as i can drive... Unless a mint manta 400 replica with a red top on carbs comes up at decent money. :-P Neil.
  22. Pm replied to about the liquid silicone based stuff... :) Neil.
