  1. i think??? thats right m8,did it plug into this? fan resister pack? click neil.
  2. thats a sh!tter m8... i have mine on the softest settings all round, they do end up pretty stiff if you set the damping high. lowering wont affect the spring rate as such, the springs stay the same length, but the piston is sat lower down. neil.
  3. thats one hell of an oldskool cool mk1 you have there m8 8) !
  4. mr beige  aye, never thought it may end up full of sh!t  would be cool to custom make the shift lights 8) i just wanted to get it done asap,i just wanted to get it to a stage where im pretty happy with it now :) before starting to tackle a few ar£ey jobs on it... 16v,i wasn't a big fan me self at first, took a while to start to like em,but they have really grown on me now. think the black detailing works real well :D cheers guys, neil. spec list, about time i sorted one: Under the bonnet: Recent full blend charger by pitstop developments. 5. the incident above was caught on cctv, police didn't do feck all as per usual 8) furkz,id be ready m8,ive known scumbags like these to come back the night after, and the night after that...
  6. same tbh,but any excuse to mess  cant wait to see your engine bay, gonna look really smart 8) neil.
  7. feckers! ! i hate thieving bastards  thats so sadly true... :( i havent slept properly since someone set my immaculate mk2 gti on fire. neil.
  8. ill have a dig through the receipts, think the fluid was changed sometime just before i bought it,well maybe a couple of years back... may change it anyway and stick some new discs and pads on the back :) cheers m8,neil.
  9. aye, done plenty random pointing me self  ahh,bolts...got mixed up as last time i removed a heater box,the bolt snapped out of the plastic  ! good job it was a breaker really.
  10. nice work 8) ! like your style m8,i got steve @ pitstop to do my charger in black, shame i havent got nice shiny bits to contrast as yet. are you dewedging the t/b? i believe (please correct me if wrong) that a 16v throttle plate will fit, rather than trying to fill the holes left behind. sommet to consider if you are doing it anyway... neil.
  11. yeah, hopefully the cogs can just be swapped with the whole thing in situ, just a case of removing the under dash shelf maybe. 8) not had a look at the box in the rado yet,id have a look now if my feckin torch was working  ill probably check it out some time tommorow. i might take the dash out again anyway to swap the heater matrix for a minty spare one ive got 8) how many nuts are there on the bulkhead for the heater box? is it 2 or 3? cant remember? neil.
  12. ahh,of course, makes sense, doh! i have a problem elsewhere then :( probably seized, although when i fitted the coilovers,i gave it a good spraying and it was free... just something else to investigate! neil.
  13. may not be such a bad job afterall! :D i checked out the old heater box earlier and both the control arm and the center cog just pop out! :D and they dont have a long shaft like i was thinking (thought this would stop them pulling out while still in position in the car) they arent actually connected to anything, and only transfer movement to the half moon shaped cog you can see above, thats the one thats attatched to the flap inside the box. ive arrowed the clips that hold them in,shame that on these ones a clip is broken off each! i dont think it will matter with the center cog,but the missing clip on the control arm will probably cause it to lift and bend like 2_door says above. neil.
  14. i thought it worked the other way,no? i thought as you were braking, the rear lifted and opened it up to apply the rear brakes then bringing the rear down? neil.

    Throttle bodies

    olly,very nice 8) !
  18. great how jobs always end up growing eh  cheers m8,i do have a spare heater box, just wondering if i can swap the cog with the heater box in place? suppose there isn't enough room? do you know if the cog just pulls out? guessing it will line up with a slot inside or something? neil. :)
  19. i think i remember someone saying something is broken if this happens,a plastic guide or something? sure someone will be along to confirm :D neil.
  20. ahhh! great pics m8 :D just wondering if that there cog is the cause to my problem? i can get heat from the floor/vents and screen but! it never stops blowing on the floor no matter where i have the slider set to,sound like the broken cog? cheers, neil. :)

    Throttle bodies

the turbo generation eh   suppose turbo's make sense for out and out power>£ though, although i cant stand em me self. I think your thinking of Carbs here...... Fuel consumption if the engine is properly mapped set up is very good. Our company caddy on throttle bodies achieves well into the 30's on longer trips. Its true they will drink if you cane it..... and they do beg to be cained if you enjoy the noise/power!!! Well set up throttle bodies on a 2litre produce a good ammount of torque, our caddy pulls well from 1000rpm in fith all the way to the limiter at about 130mph (on our private road of course) same with carbs tbh :) if they are set up correctly and in good condition, the tickover and driveability should pretty mutch match a fuel injected motor. and anyone who says that carbs need setting up every so often is talking shit, your carbs are tired! or have worn throttle spindles or! someone keeps twiddling screws under your bonnet. :D ram pipe length can be played with to change the characteristics/power bands etc,one hell of a science like! my old mk1 with an 1800 kr lump on 45's produced 174@ the fly when set up just the once.it was standard as far as i know, little unsure about the head though, never looked at it. it ran perfectly, eating a few big power modern cars along the way until it spoke its last words :( ticking over bang on 1k and barking...
  22. ahh, worth checking the lambda wiring then m8 :) also,i know you have replaced the bts,but i wonder if the wiring is damaged in the connector? you could test it roughly by unplugging the bts while the car is running, the tickover should drop pretty low. apart from that im not sure really sorry m8 :( neil.
  23. just out of interest, how much to fit polyurethane rear beam bushes to a g60? neil. :)
