  1. cheers :D so looking for 1 volt at the signal wire then? is this with the car running or just with the ignition on? also, just phoned the guy from the above website, the bosch one is actually £106.93  and an ngk one is £57.58. neil.
  2. thanks gavin, appreciate the advice :thumbleft: what would you suggest i need to be looking at then? obviously theres the charger problem, and so far ive replaced all the above as well as oil and filter change/original air filter/plugs/cap and rotor arm/water pump/fuel lines. there seems to be a hissing noise from the air screw on the back of throttle body, can i remove and refit a new seal or sommet? and id like to replace the t body gaskets as i used the originals when i ported the t body  where do i get them? funny you mention the lambda wiring,i had to repair it a while ago(resoldering 2 wires) and the taping up i did is coming away, can i get a new bit of loom? any other advice or pointers would be great! ps:seems like theres not much reason to go for the full blend? maybe just a standard rebuild? :? neil. :)
  3. you can get dodgy plugs sometimes :( if you have the old ones maybe try them again as a free test? are the cap and rotor arm recent, with changing the head? neil.
  4. just to but in, :) anyone used these guys? here? price includes vat and postage, bosch one is £65 for a 92 g60,is that decent? scroll down for prices. neil.
  5. thanks again. ps:steve, does your place do the throttle body gaskets,my local gsf say no but i need some :( anything else you think i should go for,or what would compliment the full blend? isv reroute? definately wouldnt be able to stretch to a fmic i dont reckon, think im gonna buy a new lambda probe though as theres nothing to show its ever been changed. do i need the sns chip to go with the full blend or should the superchip be ok? im really talking myself into this  i just dont have the cash but what the hell!
  6. replaced, stat/bts/fan switch/expansion tank/g12+ coolant. neil.
  7. cheers,id be ok opening it up,but i cant afford to have it off the road for long :( today i stuck new stat/bts/fan switch/expansion tank and g12+ on/in it,and the overheating is cured 8) took it for a run and there was no noise from the charger :? but the power was very intermittent again, any ideas? :( just bringing this bit onto this page too..... i was thinking full blend from g-werks which i believe comes with rsr outlet (my boost pipe is looking a bit tired/cracked so rsr would sort that too?) and an sns 5.5 chip? i know this would be more for piece of mind but what sort of power would this give? and anything else needed? red tops etc? i already have a decat/boost return kit/superchip. neil.
  8. re your edit:  yeah no noise but i only let it tickover for a couple of seconds and the noise is very intermittent :? happens like every few minutes :? with it sat ticking over.
  9. oh oh,knowing my luck itll break, will gsf have one do ya think? i got the stat out by just removing lower power steering bracket :D cheers.
  10. are the plugs nice and tight (silly question i know  ) i hate intermittent problems like this, like you say it could be anything from an air leak to the coil breaking down at high rpm? :? neil.
  11. cheers steve. ive read plenty of the topics concerning yours and anyone elses jabba chargers, and i simply wont go there for any work. the thing is i really dont have the money (as in cash) to get a rebuild or anything, but im really bad for just jumping in and getting myself in debt. i was thinking full blend from g-werks which i believe comes with rsr outlet (my boost pipe is looking a bit tired/cracked so rsr would sort that too?) and an sns 5.5 chip? i know this would be more for piece of mind but what sort of power would this give? and anything else needed? red tops etc? i already have a decat/boost return kit/superchip. cheers, neil.
  12. aye no probs m8 8) just good to get opinion of people actually 'using them' what coolant temps were you seeing before the stat? mine sits at around 100 on hot days like today, normally 70-80 or 90 on cooler days, which seems hot to me :? neil.
  13. i know m8,i can see both sides. just gonna get the standard one for now as i need it back on the road asap. does the lower one affect the warming up period as in taking lonfer to get to running temp? cheers, neil.
  14. is the ignition timing etc all spot on m8? neil.
  15. cheers dinkus,am i right in thinking that g12 is ok if the wrong stuff hasnt been used before but the g12+ will mix and be ok? that standard is best as vw should know what they are doing, can see there point i suppose. :? id agree about the lower temp fan switch though,i think itll kinda defeat the object with the fan being on more and throwing hot air all around the engine bay. neil.
  16. cheers guys may pop into vw on the way for the stat, seems to be a differing opinion about the cooler stats on a cgti topic  is it the g12+ i definately need then? pink? hows about the bts,ok from gsf? cheers.
  17. alright guys :) just priced up the following at my local gsf for a 92 g60. stat-£4.50+vat seal-£1.00 fan switch-3 pin? - £7.95 3 pin sound right? blue temp sensor-£6.90 are these ok from gsf? coolant - do i need the blue or pink? he said he thinks i need the pink as its genuine vw stuff? i asked about g12+? and he didnt know what i meant. throttle body gaskets-said he dosnt do them? dealer only part? anything else i could get while im there? cheers, neil.
  18. cheers guys. when id got the stat out i started it up (for a second or 2!) and there was no noise from the charger.
  19. i got the stat out today and its knackered, and my backs scratched to feck! im just gonna run it till the charger blows its self to bits i reckon. :x neil.
  20. yeah,im starting to think the whole car is badly designed m8. ill probably feel better once ive poured more money that i dont have into it. cheers rustynuts, ill give it a try m8. neil.
  21. cheers, its alright but a bit on the expensive side thinking about it now  and it always seems to read rich, ive probably got a problem with my lambda probe or sommet though. why have i bought another money pit,im on the verge of doing what the girlfriend says and getting 'a normal car'
  22. cheers m8,thought the buzzing was normal. at first the clicking sounded like when the engines cooling down if you know what i mean, thought it was the inlet manifold or sommet. then realised it was the isv by sticking a screwdriver on it and listening, its a click or more like a 'ping' every few seconds. shall i try dunking it in petrol? cheers, neil. :(
  23. today i fell out with it again. :( feckin g turds,im missing the valver on carbs, nice simple power and easy to maintain/work on.
