Well, not pleased as my beautiful Borbets have basically been ruined by TWS at Manchester. Quick run down... ONE of the wheels had a very slight mark on the rim where I ran over something in the road, there was a small amount of lacquer lifted on two of them. They were to fit my new tyres, polish the dishes and coat the centers black. They actually told me that the wheels were very nice to start with and I'd done a good job painting the centers black. Despite this they told me that the edge between paint/dish would be better than I'd done, I thought this sounded impressive because I spent literally a week just masking them up! Here's a reminder of the finish I got on them... So anyway...TWS said they would polish the dishes and powder coat the centers gloss black for me. To cut a long story short, around 3 weeks later they called me to say they couldn't do them and I needed to go and have a chat. They said they couldn't get the edge right between center/dish and they weren't wrong. So after having a think and feeling pretty miffed (I had my heart set on polished dishes rather than diamond cut) they told me they could strip them again, polish the dishes and let somebody else paint them (Not powder coat) So another 2 weeks! later I picked them up...No tyres fitted! They told me they couldn't fit them as they wouldn't seal against the blasted/bare finish...So now I'm left with useless wheels, my fave wheels of all time ruined! And that's not all, they did actually coat my center caps, but they no longer fit the bloody wheels there's that much run/overhang of powder coat and lacquer on them!

Well I definitely wouldn't recommend TWS at Manchester. Only got my rims back last week after they attempted to do the job but couldn't!? They have polished the dishes and the rest of the wheel inside and out is bare/blasted alloy, so they couldn't even fit my tyres as they won't seal. £400 quids worth and I'm now left with unusable wheels which are in a worse state than when I took them in! Pretty p!ssed off to say the least.

Looks superb mate! But damn, you need some money back for those spacers, you definitely can't be using those.

Thanks for the input, I tend to agree about the lack of 'tinning' on the wire, can't beat knowing that both joints are nicely infused! lol. I do have a pretty powerful soldering iron, can't remember the wattage now but I could look at using that for tinning up the wire I guess, maybe even the terminal too. Great, thanks for confirming.:thumbleft: Cheers for the input lads, will try and tackle this soon.

Forum won't let me show an image for some reason...Edit: Links really need to be a different colour too! Bolded below. Position Y3? Bottom Right? Where there are 4 single spade connectors? :thumbleft: > http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/a777ovl/etka/corrado/fuseboxrear.jpg I'll be having a look as soon as I get the time but good to get the info.

Love my Trek, but I polish it more than I use it :bonk: Jumped on it yesterday for a good ride along the canal actually. Think it was around £400 quids worth, and I think it's a decent bike for little money really.

Ah, of course.:thumbleft: Thanks for that, spot on. I have the usual ratchet for the common red/blue/yellow connectors, but will look to see what size connectors I need before looking at bigger ones. Thanks for the link, hopefully I can give the ol' G60 wiring a bit of a boost! Neil.

Cheers lads:thumbleft: Won't there be a point where an earth cable for example could be too thick? More resistance? I was looking at going from > to: +12volts Battery /Starter: 16mm2 > 20mm2 +12volts Battery / Relay-Fuse Plate: 6mm2 > 8.5mm2 +12volts Starter / Alternator: 10mm2 > 10mm2 -ve Battery/earths 4 off :- Ground cable : 35mm2 > 35mm2 Earth - Brown: 6mm2 > 8.5mm2 Earth - Brown: 1.5mm2 > 2mm2 Earth - Brown: 0.5mm2 > 1mm2 ---------- Post added at 8:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:41 PM ---------- PS: How does this connect to the fuse box? Spade terminal? Just wondering about a spade connector that will do? +12volts Battery / Relay-Fuse Plate

As title, What's the gauge/amps of the standard battery cables on the Corrado? Everything on ebay is listed as mm squared. Also same question for the starter motor cable. I'm looking at replacing it all with nice new stuff:thumbleft: so any input on the best size/rating to go for? Neil.

If it's a late G60, could it have the VR6 stuff on it? 'N' Chassis onwards? I'm almost sure it would have? Edit: Owning a late G60 isn't half confusing at times! I may have it wrong thinking about the engine mounting position? Just thinking aloud really...

How much 'mating' do you require? I'm not sure you will find that type of lady on here though... Welcome along :bonk::thumbleft:

New to the forum.... Schwartz Black G60 From Bedfordshire
Riley replied to ehz660's topic in Newbies Hangout
Wow! Good to see another Late style, LO41 G60! :thumbleft: Not many about! Although it looks like you have early fogs/indicators in the late bumper. So I think you should sell the bumper to me (Only joking, I'm on the lookout for one) Looks good mate. Neil. -
In fact, they do actually have the 5x112 to 5x100 in 20mm :thumbleft:

I'll take that Cheesy, paypal? Thanks, Neil.

K'innel, roads are a bloody joke. Have you tried this mate? http://www.fixmystreet.com/ It's worked for me various times :thumbleft: In fact I'm going to jump on there again just now and report some more issue's. Your borbets aren't really for me mate but i'm always searching them/people wanting them/selling them so I'll give you a shout if I see anyone wanting them.

Aye, I've been looking for two 9x16, 4x100. Have come across the odd set/pair etc, but they never have the same (Standard) finish. They have either been refurbed so they don't match or have polished dishes/painted centers etc. I gave £180 quid for the two above btw, a 'mature' gentleman had them on his mk2, but wanted 7.5j on the front. What do you have mate? :thumbleft:

Nice Corrado mate, love the RH cups. :thumbleft: PS: Just found some of the fitting adapters here for ya > http://www.gmpperformance.com/index.cfm?PG=detail&PID=147974 There may be cheaper/more readily available ones somewhere, that was just a quick search. Edit: Ah you're after thinner ones. Doh! Can't remember what size I got with the 9x14's...May have a check when I'm next up at the unit just for info. Neil.

I feel your pain mate, I have the Two below and I've been searching a matching pair forever! lol.
-
Not at all mate:thumbleft: They said that diamond cutting was more expensive as it's less time consuming, but I always wanted them polished anyway and for that along with black centers it's £600 quid. Not cheap like I say lol! but I want them as new/better than new. Lovely wheel the RH cup by the way, one of my faves actually, very under rated! I have some 9x14's somewhere. How about refurbing them yourself? I think they would probably be pretty straight forward. I managed this with the borbets when I first bought em, so I think the RH cup being a bit of a smoother design would be worth a shot? http://www.volksdevil.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=149&start=24

I've just dropped my Borbets off at the wheel specialist Manchester for black centers and polished dish, they have a place in hants if that's anywhere near you? My geography is crap lol! They aren't cheap but from what I've seen it looks like (Hopefully) they are sh!t hot. They are a franchise though so no doubt the work will vary a little from place to place. Neil.

Thanks mate, appreciate that:thumbleft: I'll update on the suspension as soon as it arrives as I'm unsure if I've got the right type yet :-( Have dropped the Borbets off at The Wheel Specialist - Manchester for a full refurb. Yep, decided NOT to do something myself on the car for once! Getting rid of the original diamond cut/lacquered dishes and going for bare polished. Keeping the centers gloss black. Not cheap, but we shall see how they turn out, if they do turn out to be a sh1t hot job then it's worth the money to me. They actually thought the wheels looked ok as they are lol, but they just don't look new anymore after I let them go a bit.
