I think they are £6 each x 8 (2 on each shocker) = £48 quid :| For what was £600 quids worth of suspension id expect much better, i don't know if i fancy throwing £50 quid at them every 18k miles :censored: Not happy man...
-
Yeah, i found the same problem with thew rears earlier in the year...Was hoping the fronts would have faired better. :(
-
Anyone know how much they are from the dealers for a late G60? Are they the same for all models? And while im here, is it worth sticking polyurethane ones in rather than genuine vw? Thanks,Neil.

Went to replace the top mounts earlier, but the fk konigsports aren't looking very good. 18,000 miles use and about 2.5/3 years old. :censored: Spot anything wrong here? Nothing too obvious, and i've looked after them pretty well i think anyway. The pics are after wiping off the protection spray provided and added grease. What about now? Fecking bottom collar hanging off... Lets look at the remaining collar...I wonder how long it would have lasted before possibly causing a pretty serious accident? And here it is after falling off in bits while just pulling at it with my hand. As you can see, the thread on the shocker is fine, the remaining ally collar just wipes off the thread like powder. Its obvious this is going to happen with the ally collars/steel plated body's. But im really dissapointed after paying a lot of money for supposedly good quality coilovers... So what to do with them...You can get new collars, but are they gonna be ally again and only last two minutes?!

Well after a guy put a deposit down on the concours mk1 earlier, i was feeling a bit sh|t so i fecked off up to the unit and cracked on with a few bits on the front end. Im gonna drop the whole subframe at some point next year and fully refurb it. Out of the below i just have the front/rear top mounts and rear anto roll bar bushes left to do. The other stuff was done about an hour ago. One of the front wishbone bolts snapped after very little force trying to undo it, but the irwins/heat and an angle grinder on the wishbone took care of it and the thread was fine. Neil.

Is your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?
Riley replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
Yours doesn't count!!  My old mk1 fiesta and nova were both a hell of a lot more reliable! Even my mk5 escort van which i threw a 3i lump into  -

I hate to say it, but yep. -
Won't it be for aligning/tensioning the 'built in' rear wheel steer? Neil.

Keep em coming guys :D Maybe stick up the make/model of back box too? I've always liked the magnex and oval type like quicky's...Im needing a new system so its good to see what things look like. Mine currently has standard but polished up.
-
I don't think we have had a specific thread for this? :D Im looking high and low for a pic of a corrado with an angled slash cut type tail pipe but can't find one... Sommet like the pic but with none rolled end...just a cut, but throw yours up anyway so we can see different ones :) Neil.

Well the word floodlights is the perfect example of why i didn't bother searching for translation  Gives a basic idea though i guess, cheers mate :) Not cool! :censored:
-
Wtf?! :err: :cuckoo: Can anyone translate German? I think...its as bad as it looks, this idiot is advertsing something to do with the lights using the Lamin-X.co.uk company car? :cuckoo:

Dan, already sold im afraid mate :( Just fancied cheap motoring with the new valver for a while really, and i want to get it to a more finished state for our show next year :D Ive just drove it for the first time in months! Took it up to my unit as ive been getting paranoid about it getting damaged etc... My god it felt fecking quick! Ive got all new wishbones/track rod ends/ball joints/top front and rear mounts etc sat there (have been for ages!) ready to fit. Its about time i got around to em and got the whole car more 'finished' I now have a plan for the interior too i think, but it will be a long time before i can afford to do something with that. Hopefully if things work out then the 'more finished' idea will be done for VAG 2009 :) Neil.

The front. Push the seat base back then lift the front. Neil.

Why all the 'hush hush' about the 16v g60? I don't get it. :confused4:
-
Two different ones eh...Mmmmmm. Wonder if this has anything to do with my 4 year running problem. I stuck a new lambda in some time ago and i don't know if i got the correct one now, as i don't run a cat. Will look into it. Neil. Edit: scrub that :bad-words: Ive snipped the lambda wire up at the ecu ages ago and my problem was still there.

Cheers mate... The light output difference is very minimal, With the corrado i can't tell any difference at all to be honest, but there will be a slightly smaller light output. No uprated loom on the valver, may put one together at some stage. I find the Yellow on the g60 is much better than standard visibility wise, i love the yellow light especially at night/when its foggy. 8) Neil.

Im looking at supplying a new protection film called 'SubtleTint' pretty soon :) The GunSmoke is quite hard to photograph, it always looks slightly darker in pics... Good stuff... I decided to GunSmoke the headlights in my dinner time today...Just can't help myself i suppose. With sidelights on... And low beam... Neil.
-
No worries manny...Been going through a tough time of late like.
-
This is what i did, and its worked like new ever since. A tip for everyone... If you have the blower motor going, don't change the direction...You will feel a difference in resistance. Turn the blower off and then change the direction, you will notice that the direction can be changed much easier.
-
Cheers mate, i spotted that post and had a look, but all is spot on. Nah, well, for now i suppose...Its sat like this while i use the new valver for a while. I miss driving the damn thing though... Neil.
-
Cheers mate, ign timing is perfectly set at 6deg btdc, and the c/o pot has been swapped for another along with the seal. Its off the road now anyway, Ill let it sit and rot. Neil.

Instructions/applicator and a knife 8) A piece of 12"x16" cut in half will do the faces of both headlights... Decided to Lamin-X the headlights with Clear protection film. Note:This is some faulty gear that i just made use of. Removed headlights, the corrado lights have a nice little indent that you can run your knife along to trim the film for a perfect fit. Done. Then decided on the GunSmoke protection film for the fogs/indicators...Just to make it look a little different. And fitted, not bad for a rush job. Neil.
