  1. Oh, something to point out which might be useful to people doing this themselves. The setup highlighted an ABS issue which wasn't serious enough to cause my ABS light to stay on, but neverthless gave the traction control problems as the signal from one of my ABS sensors kept dropping out due to a bent wheel rotor. Make sure your ABS system is tip top before setting it up.
  2. No, unfortunately it was too dry today Kev. I told Vince he needed a skidpan as an addition to the workshop  . Nailed it coming round a roundabout though, and it just hung in there - very impressive piece of kit.
  3. I finally got round to getting the traction control fitted today at Stealth. We had a few issues (bent ABS sensor wheel, and someone at sompoint in my cars life has done some very interesting wiring modification to the injector loom - like wiring it backwards). However Vince and boys soldiered through and got it done :D . He then took me out for a test drive and frightened the willies out of me with launch control  . One thing though, on the way home I blew off a boost pipe. Not sure on the cause there as we were moving things round while changing the battery, however in a situation where some heavy boost is being used and held on WOT ready for launch, make sure your clamps are done up tight people. All in all, can definately recommend the setup.
  4. AFAIK the red tops were used on the ford mustang as well. I know I always recommend this, but given G-werks a call. They should be able to sort you out with what you need.
  5. The 3.5 bar fuel pressure reg is a Porsche item, although you should be able to buy one from a Bosch supplier (they're about £80 from Porsche but probably cheaper from Bosch). The part numbers have been talked about on here before, so you should be able to find them with the search. Best check on those Saab turbo injectors, are you sure they are the right impedance and flow rate?
  6. Here you go... http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=857&hilit=removing+cc&start=30 A lot of G60 owners have removed these to given access to cold air like you.
  7. Welcome to Rado ownership. Oil coolers, can go in fron of and slighly below the rad. On a pretty much standard G60 13 or 16 row and 6 inch long should be fine. Get a thermostatic plate one otherwise the oil will take for ages to heat the oil up. Talk with G-werks and they should be able to supply something suitable. Exhausts wise up north - JP in Macclesfield they made mine - good quality if a little boomy. My fault there though I went for 2.5" for a G60, even a modded one which IMO is too big. 2.25" is more than OK especially if not heavily modded. Also Pipewerx up there are good exhaust makers. It may have a cat, but doesn't need it for the MOT as it's old enough to get away with it.
  8. You can't get them commercially, but I seem to receall someone making one out of a couple of the badged ones.
  9. Talk to G-werks for anything G60 specific mate.
  10. Spotted one this afternoon - on Brentmoor Road, West End - exchaged waves :D
  11. Big thank you to Jonny-5 and Jim - both great to deal with :D
  12. Saw a burgundy (?) one today in the outside lane on the M40 heading east about 2:45. Reg M* VW* - looked good :)
  13. I chiselled mine out in the end while the hub and brakes were still on. I gripped the back of the old one and twisted in until it sheared the insides off from the metal outer casing, I could them pull it out. Then gently chiselled the metal ring in from the side of the hub until it folded in from itself and I could them pull it out with some mole grips. Be careful though - hit it too hard and you can push it into the ABS sensor. Took about 45mins of swearing in the end. Also with the new one if it's really tight to get back in gently sand down the shaft of it. If it's too tight and you force it you can break them.
  14. Just done London to Bridlington (in Yorkshire) and back this week - didn't see a single one. Saw 3 E-types, half a dozen Ferraris, numerous Astons, and a Brabus D6 M class to name but a few but no C's :( .

No, the stud pattern doesn't effect the callipers you can use, however it will effect the choice of disk you have that work with those callipers. Yes, mine are 4x100, which doesn't give you much choice for off the shelf disks. The standard 'larger' disk to go for with 4x100 is the Ibiza Cupra R disk at 305mm diameter and 28mm thick. This is that the Brembos use (and the Boxster S brakes) on 4 stud corrados. If you want to go the extra mile and use custom brake disks, you can buy the AP racing disks and have bells made for them to your specification. Expect to pay pretty big money though.
  16. I bought my replacement one from ebay - £15 for a new Siemens one. Bit of a pain to fit, especially if the old one welds itself to the hub, but doable in an hour.

Thanks mate. The front brakes were Boxster callipers. In hindsight I would have prefered Boxster S callipers as they are built to take 28mm wide disks, so bascailly are the same as the brembo callipers and can be used with the Seat Ibiza Cupra R disks (4x100 and 305mm diameter). They need the Seat carriers as well. With mine I went for 25mm thick by 315mm AP racing disks (because they are only boxster callipers and meant for 24mm disks), These then needed the callipers spacing out further which I used drilled out metal blocks for. You'll also need the right hoses (depending on which calliper you go for). They work really well when hot, but that's because I fitted Pagid 421 pads. The brakes cool so well that for normal road use in future I will just use normal Porsche pads. Ideally you are best of looking for a full set - they do come up occasionally. Also try Badger5 for the Brembo sets.

    abs question

Chances are it's a duff sensor. If you have a multimeter, you can check that out yourself in about 5 mins. Use the search on here, it's been covered loads of times.
  19. Hmm, interesting, always good to see another option for G60 tuning.
  20. Sounds like a good idea, but I can't log in. Can someone add me please - TW20, Egham. J reg G60, black. Thanks.
  21. Good point - hadn't even though about that when I answered.
  22. Seats and door cards are a direct swap, but you'll need late mirror and window switches (and ideally looms as the connectors are different). Also you'll need late door release pull and surrounds as they are rounded in the late interiors and squared of in the early ones.
  23. Really. Starnge that - my G60 had air con which I thought was quite rare, but that only had a 65A one when I got it. Had to search for ages before finding a 90A one in a scrappy.
  24. 65A is the standard, but he 90A one is ideal if you do loads of short journeys (and a lot harder to find second hand).
