Quickest car you've been in, owned and most interesting....
Blue_Joe replied to NickVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Fastest I've been in (and driven) has to probably be either the Lambo Diablo or the TVR Griffith 500!! Quickest I've owned will soon be the Corrado that will be all finished shortly! -
Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
Blue_Joe replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
Nice one Ben - I bet your so happy after all this time!!! We'll have to look at that head to head agina soon as I'm now on the way to completion!! -
AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had word that the Pistons arrived in the country TODAY!!!! They will be with Racepower in the morning all being well. Jim is starting to make preparations today to start work on the car the minute they arrive!!!!!!

No - only had the one, I sold it as I didn't need it anymore because I bought this and as you can see on this I have an XRP fitting with a pipe going straight to my new Oil Catch Tank that arrives today!
-
Purely cosmetic!!
-
Well I told you all i should be able to reveal this by the end of the week, it's not yet finished as the top has to be polished however it is just about there! Thanks to Billinjah for sourcing this one for me, I found one that he bought in Canada, afterwards even though I told him about it and helped him get it I got jealous and wanted one and somehow (I think a slight miracle - but about time I had some luck with something on this car!!) Bill found one for sale in Germany so I snapped it up. They cost was absolutely RIDICULOUS so please don't ask but I think it was worth it to get such a rare and stunning item!!! Another small fortune on XRP fittings and pipework and then some powdercoating and lots of delicate work with wet n dry and thats where we are now!!!
-
where??? However if you mean the Rage one's then thats not really what I was thinking. Was thinking something more OE look
-
You may laugh............ I did recently investigate making and am still thinking of making a flip up gearknob with the engine start button under it!!!

Exhaust!!!!!! so many but which ones the best??????
Blue_Joe replied to Toady1979's topic in General Car Chat
Longlife Custom Made - Done me proud!!! -
It's not realy worth going to an agreed value policy unless you have done some major amount of work on the car that will not be covered by the market value of the car as they can put the premium up quite a bit!!! I'm about to move to an agreed value policy for mine as I have spent soo much on the car, however that means they know the inside and out of everything you have done to the car and it has to be inspected by an independant assessor. Just better getting a quote from a specialist with mods declared
-
I think you'll find alot of the time it is on a case by case basis however any mods are going to cripple you at 21!!!! However try one of the more specialist brokers like Chris Knott, Adrain Flux or Brentacre!

I've been thinking of doing this but where I have the intercooler in the main central air duct in the RS4 bumper I was thinking of mounting 2 or 4 jets in the actual plastic of the bumper infront of the intercooler and running the pipework inside the bumper. Should look and work well. However I haven't figured out where to mount the switch to activate it as still have my rear washer and don't really fancy trying to accelerate, hold the steering wheel, change gear and press the rear wash stalk at the same time. I'm more wondering if I could activate it somehow when boost is being registered. Perhaps piggybacking on the controller that activates my aquamist system when the boost is registered! Or at least a similar device!
-
You should have Bosch W6DPO's in there!
-
Probably find it just needs to "dry out"
-
Just got off the phone to Racepower.............................. DO I HAVE MUG TATTOOED ON MY FOREHEAD???? DO I HAVE A SIGN ON MY BACK SAYING PLEASE LIE TO ME?????? After this conversation, where the head of JE UK stated that they had already been sent by express courier at their expense [sarcasm]thats nice of them! thanks for that [/sarcasm] , it turns out after Racepower spoke to the head of Europe that they only came off the production line yesterday and were due to be sent today!!!! Why do people just seem to feel the need to tell me absolute BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!! As you can guess - I'm FUMING!!!!!!!!!!
-
would it not be a more sensible idea to find the issue causing it to sit on the axle and solve that as that is clearly the main issue!!!
-
Has anyone cut down their 90mm spoiler? - done it
Blue_Joe replied to diggerbucket's topic in Exterior
But it would lose all it's strength and rigidity if you cut it down! Then it'd flap around and look wrong! -
No not yet! I'm not very happy about it as apparently they haven't actually landed in the UK yet!!!! Bearing in mind that they were sent over a week ago by express courier apparently, we are awaiting a call back from JE for an explanation!!!!!! Told you that wasn't funny - think you cursed my delivery fella and I'm holding you personally responsible  :2gunfire:
-
I ported my own throttle body - as for adjusting reprofiling when the inlet flap opens there is very little room for adjustment and I'm not really sure if it is actually worth doing!! See my members gallery to see how I have ported my throttle body fella - however this is for a G60 for BLACKG60's benefit, I've not done a VR one! It's on this page
-
Use Beru leads, they are the best you can use. Can get them from your local GSF Car Parts
-
That is also about the limit to mine aswell!!!!
-
I think i have pulled the handbrake out of the car
Blue_Joe replied to BeavisJem's topic in Drivetrain
Yeah you do need to. I did this on mine - the welds are actually quite poo! -
I've been to it. It's a ClubGTI meet. Went once with another C owner. Everyone just parks in the car park then just sits in the pub not talking to each other!!!!!
-
We'll have to get ourselves a meet together soon - especially as mine is now peering over the horizon of coming back to me!!!!!!
