I've currently got the front end of my black rado off at the mo. If you want I can have a look to see if there is another way to remove the screw.

Not sure what they was thinking putting that screw there I spent about ten mins the other day trying to remove it and it turned out there was no clip so screw was just spinning 2 mins with my trim tool and screw was out.

Just wondered if anyone knows if the block and head used for the G60 is the same as the block and head used in the mk1/2 golf 8v gti's? If not what are the differences.

To be honest you will get away with it being a bit rough due to the shape and the light will catch it in another way. I'm repairing the arch on my black rado at the mo and arches are the hardest to get right. Get a cheap rattle can and give it a thick coat when you think it's done and it will give you an idea of how it will look painted (hope that makes sence)then sand the paint also known as a guide coat down with 120 till all the paint has gone and this will help to show up high/low spots and show up any areas that need more work. -

You have certainly picked an awkward place to pop your filler cherry. Lol. -
How do these attach to the car? Does the gutter trim need to be taken off?

Picked up my doner car today. It's a G60 rado I don't like to break a rado but body is to far gone to be worth while saving so the engine can live on. Not sure if it'll be any good for towing so won't use it for towing. I think I have a bit of a G60 obsession going on at the moment. Lol

Are you planning to paint the inside of the bonnet? If you are be aware that loads of bits get stuck in the gaps and end up in the paint. This is talking from experience (gotta do mine again) best bet is to run some seam sealer or tiger glue in all the gaps. -
Just spotted n### OCD. Elm park Essex. Anyone on here?
-
Fair point. Never thought of it like that. I had one on a zafira gsi and never had any problems.
-
Have you considered a custom built exhaust?

Don't see to many smoothed rado bays where as they are very common on golfs. Good work looking forward to seeing how it comes out. -
When you was saying about using the different grades of paper and dust coats was that the primer?

The other thing to consider is security. You don't want some pond life helping themselves as the shell probably won't have any security. As for doing it on the drive why not!
