thats what the n/a chip is for. that should take care of giving the engine the correct amount of fuel right?

for the first time in 1 year and 4 months i actually drove my corrado. (sure it was only 15 feet to move it off the trailer and into a sport on my driveway) BUT I DROVE IT!!! but there is still an issue of it not being able to idle at all. and it is still running quite rich even with the new n/a chip from sns and the new fpr. but it is so close to being done! those are the only issues right now. anyone please try and help me out here. the reason i have the car back is because the shop could not figure out how to fix it. the car is a 2.0L 16v on G60 managment. all i did was swap the powerplant. but YAY for it moving!!! i am so excited. =]

black them out... =]

too bad you guys are in the UK. i have a friend who makes his own cages, they are freaking amazing too. i will try and find a picture of his cage. i think i am going to have him build mine when i can afford it. its going to be around $500-$600 for whatever i want.

yeah, i drove mine without a charger for 1 day. i could not bear to run my car with so little power. it is amazing how much power that engine get from the charger when you feel how it is without it. good luck with the car, hopefully your charger will be done soon. AVOID STEAP HILLS!!! my house is at the top of a 3 mile hill. it was terrible.

sorry for the length of this, but please read it. ok, so here is the deal... my G-Ladder blew just over a year ago. so i decided to swap in a n/a 2.0L 16v rather than rebuilding the charger (because of my lack of funding). with all of the goodies i put onto the new engine, i would be getting more bhp from that n/a engine than what i was getting from the g60. so after much time my car is actually running. but there is a problem. the car is not holding an idle because it is flooding. after 10-15 seconds of idling. the car will rev perfect until it starts to flood. i took the advice of the guys at SNS and got their n/a 2.0L 16v chip and a 3.5 bar fpr so i can use the stock g60 injectors. so basicly what i have is a n/a 2.0L 16v running on the digi 1 from the g60. do you guys have any idea what could be making the car flood? the shop where the car is cannot figure it out. i just need my car running right. i just want to be able to drive my car again. please help me.

what about the 2.0L 16v that was in the passat? what sort of bhp was coming from that? did it have the tall or short block?
-
does it work with the swich? or just not work all together? i know there is a sensor (at least on the 90' ) that is on the back of the guage cluster. my friend had replaced the sensor and his spoiler works automatically now. he also gets a bunch of accurate MFA readings now. another thing would be to check if your MFA readings are all correct. if they are not, it very well could be that sensor. they are only like $30 from the stealer.

i was told that you should go pretty easy on the engine for the first 1000 miles. oil change as soon as you get it running, oil change at 500, and another oil change at 1000. congrats on getting your car back! i should be getting mine back today, tomorrow, or when i get back from greece/italy at the end of the month. its been a year and 4 months since i last drove my corrado! congrats again!

yeah, i worked for UPS for about a year. the best way to send something from the states to europe or anywhere else in the world is to declair things as gifts.

that thing looks to be in pretty great shape. looks like its even lowered! SCORE! great looking wheels too. i wish mine came with that nice looking of wheels. mine came with "AMERICAN RACING" wheels. great score, how much did you pay though?
-
hell yeah!

koni/ground control suspension - $980 wheels/tires - $1100 engine swap - $5000 exhaust/high flow cat - $500 car itself - $3900 other random partsi am too lazy to remember/shop bills - $3000 estimated grand total spend on my corrado (without gas/oil prices) is probably $15,000...that is quite a bit. i am going on year 3 of ownership.

take the tube off of the throttle body and wipe your finger on the inside of the tube and take a look at it. if you see any flake on your finger or in the tube right before the throttle body, you can be pretty sure there will be some in the head/block. also through the oil lines going to/from the charger flake can pass through there as well. i would change your oil to really see. to check for the flake in your oil, you can get a stron paper towel or something to strain the oilas its coming out. try those things. you will find out. for me, flakes were everywhere, even in my engine compartment. and if you want to bypass it, you are going to have to get the right sized belt that will bypass the charger, you will also have to remove the tube connecting to the charger and put a cone filter on it for an intake.

here are some progress shots...
-
you want to make sure and change your oil atleast once to try and get any flake out of your engine. i ended up with a oil pan full of flake. you can do what i eventually plan on doing: 2.0L 16v with a lysholm charger...mmmm...lots of power...

yeah, i have been talking with him for the past few months about my swap in general, but now it seems he is annoyed by me or he hates me for some unknown reason. i talked to danny(?) today on AIM and him and i finally made some progress. i placed my order for the chip, but they gave me no estimated time on when i would get it from them...maybe you could help me out and find out for me since sam really wont respond to me very often. please help me out. -

how do you open your doors? i have seen things on classic cars where its a button under the door or something to open it. it all looks pretty clean. the vents in the fender and the front bumper are not my sort of taste, but it all looks nice =]

awesome pictures. i wish i lived over there sometimes. actually, im sure anywhere not in the US is probably much better to live.

well, after he bought it he decided that he was going to keep it and go all out on it. since he has another car to drive right now, he is fine with taking his time on the corrado. this summer he is working full time to buy parts for the engine to make it run better, he is also saving up for the BBM twin screw charger for the engine. we decided we were also going to do most of the body work ourselfs. we got a hold of some sanders, crowbars, rubber hamers, and some safety equipment and started going to town. we got the front and rear bumpers off of the car. this body work that was done on the car was even more ghetto than we thought. they used sheets of metal and screwed them into the body and connected them to the bumper and then used filler to smooth over it to make it look smooth. we also started taking off all of the paint and getting it down to bare metal. (this is turning into quite a cool project car) the body underneith all of that crap is in nice condition, no dents or anything. i will keep you guys updated.
