thanks! i am pretty close to getting this thing running. i am just a few weeks away. you can check the detailed progression of the car here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1457712 it has been quite a long year and five months. but i am sure it will pay off as soon as this car is running well. =] -

they are playing with engine down in october. you guys should try and make it out to california. =] i have all of both bands cds. as soon as i get one of your guys' european plate holder i will not be sporting their stickers anymore. =P hook me up with one! what do you guys think of my tail lights? i had them professionally painted for $40 from a local paint shop...they are darker than my paint, but light up perfectly. =] -
ah the MOT is like the SMOG check we have here. about the head gasket thing, how does your car run? if its running fine, personally,i would nto worry about it until something is really noticable, oil flying around and what not. (but this is coming from me, when my charger exploded it took my motor with it. =P even though i was getting 9.5-10lbs of stock boost until the min. it exploded.) its really up to you. do you trust the shop enough?
-
the forum was update. check it out. see what you think.
-
anyone?
-
well, i dont know about the 'sniff test' to find out about a head gasket going. (i dont know much about how to find out if a head gasket were going) but that seems a bit questionable to me. g60's run pretty hot, so you are right about that. i have no idea what MOT is (sorry i am from the US) how old is the G60? how many miles are on it? any idea how hard it was driven before you bought it? hopefully someone here will be able to help you find out what the deal is.

haha, yeah that is a US spec corrado thing only. it is called a knee bar. completly useless, and if your tall, you hit your knees on it all the time. i guess that is why they call it that. =P

i have heard bad starters before, they normally sound like crap. but when this trys to start it sounds fine really. it just wont start. and like i said before, when it sounds like it is going to start, it just lugs for a few turns and stops.
-
i saw the car yesterday and when you try and start the car it just keeps trying to turn it over. but the car just isnt having it. when it gets close to actually starting the car just sputters and stops. something isnt right at all. any ideas?
