  1. I would say no need to amp them, unless you are fitting a sub, then stick an amp up the arse of the fronts only! :) Not going to E38 now :( My Uncle died at the weekend :(
  2. Clay barred mine last night, and it does look better, and paint feels a lot smoother, just need a polish and we should be good!
  3. I've got a valver and always wished I'd bought a G or a VR! Not that I don't like the car, but I'm forever hampering for more power! I get around 34mpg which is a saving grace, but I've had problems with the engine since I bought it. Valve stem seals, valve guides, ISV, running lean top end etc etc etc. And it still isn't right now (although probably my own doing!) But it is a Corrado, and I love it! It goes pretty well and all my mates think its pretty sweet :) :)

    C**TS !!

I think you should do that Neil ^^^^^
  5. Don't bother with the alpines,, 20w RMS is a bit poo JBL are good, and apparently so are Infinity
  6. Is that the one that has a roll cage in it?
  7. Dremel-tastic mate!! You going to E38, if so you can have a closer look at mine. (oo, er!)
  8. Right quick update, according to my lil' blue book (Bosch, Automotive Handbook), the throttle valve switch is used for idle and overrun and WOT. There is also an electrohydrylic pressure actuator that is controlled I think by that switch! Any help?
  9. £130ish for the wishbones, ball joints, plates and bolts from VW with 10% discount £9.25 each for the drop links from GSF I bought the complete wishbones, with the bushes in as they were only £40 each!
  10. Furry muff, there's a few things I need to do to mine before E38 too. Well, hope you get your C all sorted in good time.
  11. Go on you know you want to!! 8)
  12. Yeah I've never been before either! Post onto this thread so you can get added to the list of peeps going on. M15 VW is organising it. I can meet you at Corley services on the M6 just south of B'ham on Saturday morning, and we can go in a mini convoy if you like. Should be a bloody good show by the sounds of things, already 21 Corrado's on the Corrado Forum Stand on the Saturday!
  13. E38 is in Northampton, about 2 1/2hours from Blackburn. Come down on the Saturday and stick your car on the Corrado Forum stand! My C is just dropped on Koni T/A's and H/R springs...about 35mm, but have got the T/A's on full hardness! The front could come down more, though!
  14. No its not, where in lancs do you live? Got the normal centre caps as well, although I prefer the flat ones!
  15. I bought them off Daz, for £350 inc part worm tyres I'm running 205/40 R16's Avon ZZR's on the rear (new) and Khumo Elastica(?) on the front The Khumo's used to catch a lot, and I knackered one of them, but the Avon's seem to be ok, more of a round profile rather than a square one if you know what I mean. You going to E38?
  16. Modify it! Add your mark to it. Looks a nice tidy C, wish mine looked that good! Oh, and welcome to the forum
  17. I'm wondering if the little microswitch on the throttle body contributes to the ISV, and therefore if it is knackered or has poor conductivity when damp, then the ISV isn't doing its job properly. Could you get hold of another 9a throttle body and try that? I have a little blue book at work printed by Bosch, that details everything you need to know about engine management/engine development stuff. It does havea section of the KE-jetronic management that ios found on the 9a, so I'll have a look tomorrow to see if there is anything particular about that switch. P.S you aren't talking to yourself :)
  18. The second one was a lot easier, and took me almost a 1/4 of the time to do!

    My motors

They are nice! Lovely, I do like black Corrado's, Anglia's not bead either 8) 8)
  20. That throttle body is soooooo shiny! Good skills,
  21. That's brilliant, ROFL
  22. Quick how to then.... 1. Remove wheel 2. Remove caliper and bottom bolt from caliper carrier, to get easier access to the pinch bolt on the bottom ball joint. 3. Apply WD40 or Plus-gas liberally to front bolt, bottom wishbone bolt, pinch bolt, and antiroll bar drop link nut. Leave for a few minutes, and re-apply throughout the process of undoing them as they will be very tight. 4. Undo all three bolts and drop link nut. Its likely that the drop link will shear off as water settles between the rubber washers. If it doesn't snap, I would change them as a matter of course because you will have appled a torque to the shaft of the bolt and weakened it 5. Push the ball joint end of the wishbone down to drop it out of the hub. You may need to prise apart where the ball joint sits into. 6. Push the front of the wishbone down then pull toward the front of the car. 7. Take the new wishbone and fit the rear in position, which will probably require a few light taps for it to locate in the two semicircular tabs. 8. Locate the front of the wishbone, and put the bolts in place front and rear. 9. Fit the new ball joints, with the metal bracket and three bolts, int o the wishbone, re-position the ball joint so it is in position to be pushed into the bottom of the hub. 10. Apply upward pressure to the ball joint, again this may require a few light taps. You need to look throught the hole where the pinch bolt goes, so you can see how much you need to push it up. Probably best to tap the wishbone, rather than the bottom of the new ball joint. 11. Put the pinch bolt in and tighten 12. Tighten the other two bolts, front and rear, in the wishbone. 13. Refit the antiroll bar drop link, making sure its the right way around, as the loop is offset from centre. 14. Finally refit wheel and off you go!! Parts that I changed per side 1x Wishbones - (can find this one) 1x Ball joints - 357 407 365 1x Ball joint fixing plate - 191 407 175 3x Ball joint fixing bolts - 101 277 06 1x Front wishbone bolt - 904 840 03 Hows that? Not a mechanic, but it might help...:)
  23. Woohoo...... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D 45mins to fit offside wishbone & ball joint, and 1 hour to remove and fit nearside wishbone & ball joint! Next one should take me 30mins at that rate!!
