  1. I've got H&Rs an Koni top adjustables, but they don't drop the car by much....about 35mm. If I could start again, I'd save a little more money and get coilovers But.... It does handle REALLY well, and you CAN keep your teeth! :D
  2. Each to their own, that's what I say....bloody good effort for both cars, you must be a corrado (and golf) fan to spend god knows how much on both cars. Neither of them are to my taste, but that isn't the important thing.... 8) 8)
  3. That's what I've got....but like the other guys said running costs and general maintenance aren't cheap (but cheaper than VR's or G60's) I needed a new ignition module which was £180, VW only part! etc etc etc I've had a few problems with my C, but to be fair there is no way I'd get rid of it....its too bloody nice :D :D :D
  4. My car struggles a low speeds anyway for some reason, maybe it needs setting up, as it is running factory settings for idle etc....never been changed Goes like a kangaroo sometimes when it is above around 2000rpm and trying to maintain a steady speed in town. I guess cos you change the throttle, all the idle etc will need to be setup anyway?
  5. Genesis Profile Two - 2 x75W Rms which is plenty.... £199
  6. I do a lot of motorway driving and not much else at the mo, would a single butterfly throttle make it use stupid amount of fuel? Would it burp every time I filled it up :-P
  7. Sorry, did you say free and VW dealer in the same sentence? (Still smarting from my recent VW dealer experience :x )
  8. Tried, but they are upgrading the server at the mo....will try again :(
  9. Don't have that much of a problem, but I've only got 2.0l of normally aspirated engine :( Best I've got out of mine was 43.7MPG...that was with the sail up, out of gear, and down hill!
  10. Sound. I'll order them today I think. 8) I want to have a go at backlighting my clocks myself, does anyone know how DDI do it? Can't afford theirs until after Xmas really :(
  11. It's for the chav's
  12. Bugger! :( So just the option of changing the bulbs for LEDS?
  13. I know that there are a few threads on this, but I've got K-reg 2.0l 16v with the early switches, and the dash switches have little clear bulbs in them. Can these be changed for LEDS if I remove the green filter? I'm guessing that the bulbs are 12volt as well, is that the case? If I can't change the bulbs for LEDS, can I use the later switches without butchering the wiring behind the dash?
  14. You'll love this, it's well funny....   http://www.mtv.co.uk/mtv.co.uk/pimpmyri ... Ride.jhtml
  15. OMG what is it? it looks pants, I know that Lot of work....for a pants looking car! Effort definately not worthwhile...
  16. Sounds like a good plan! Yer I saw that at the beginning of this week....I'm off there next time I need anything done I think! :)
  17. theRuler said You're not wrong, but I wouldn't have minded AS much, if they had done a proper job.... I'm jts annoyed at paying £75 + VAT an hour and when I picked the car up I asked them why it was so much, and the bloke behind the desk said that they only make around 2.5% profit margin! I nearly burst out laughing! Even if they paid there technicians £20 an hour (that's over 40K a year!) they would still make a profit out of it I'm sure!
  18. You wouldn't want to parallel park it would you?
  19. Now this just takes the biscuit! The story begins.... I’ve just started a new job in Cambridge, and I am living down here for a year. Just before I came down here, I had a KR cam fitted to my 9A engine, and while my friendly mechanic at home was fitting it he changed the cam belt, followers, and chain. He then noticed that the core plug just behind the cam belt tensioner had a little hole in it. Saturday afternoon = no chance of getting a replacement, so a quick bodge later and he’d welded the hole up, to get me down to Cambridge on the Monday morning. The bodge didn’t hold very well, and I had to get it replaced while in Cambridge, and being new to the area I just took it to Vindis; the local main dealer. What a mistake! Apparently it took two hours for them to replace it and it cost £185 all in! When I picked the Corrado up, it was Friday afternoon 5.30pm and I was driving straight home to Shrewsbury. There was a loud ticking sound coming from the cam belt area, which was a little worrying! I couldn’t ring them as they were closed, so I called my mate who told me not to worry about it, it was probably just the cam belt catching on the cam cover. The sound gradually disappeared on the way home so I thought all was well After driving home (150miles) from Cambridge, the water warning light came on the following day and I managed to put 1.5ltrs of water into the coolant system! Did I have another leak? No, Vindis hadn’t run the car warm with the coolant cap off to eliminate any air locks. I phoned them up, the next week, and they booked it in, again, to replace the coolant completely and finish off the job properly. So I thought everything was fine then, still bruised from having to pay £185… :( Next I start hearing this really loud knocking/ticking sound coming from the alternator, or so I thought! Managed to get another alternator, replaced it and the noise was still there…. Thought I’d check all other components on run from that belt, to find the water pump pulley bolts were only FINGER TIGHT! Could they do anything else wrong??? So £185 to change a core plug at a main dealer, and my mechanic friend charged me £60 to change the cam belt tensioner , followers and inlet cam, and it only took him 1½ hours!….mmmm something seriously wrong there!
  20. What is that supposed to be? :? :? :? http://www.topgear.com/content/fun_stuf ... ges/71/04/
  21. Well I like my valver, nice power, and still room for a little more fettling  As Phil said, Plus you have to consider insurance and running costs....the more power, the more it costs!! :(
  22. Had the geometry laser aligned yesterday....what a difference! 8) 8) My car was running NS camber -2.5deg and OS camber -1.3deg !! And the toe was all wrong as well How running -0.5deg camber on both wheels, and its so much better. I would definately recommend this if you've lowered your Corrado yourself! Now It handles really well, just as a Corrado should! :D :D
  23. dav Is that the price ofr the 4-2-1? If so how much for the 4-1 dude? :?: :?:
