  1. One of my favourite Corrados, this. Good work, looks lurvely 8)
  2. Well, my Corrado drove me to drink a few times and alcohol is a drug, so....in that case drugs are goooooood :drinking: [EDIT]Oh, yeah and now we have a Golf VR6
  3. Gutted about 'Annie', but massive congratulations for Mattias :D :D :D Maybe it's re-inCARnation??
  4. Fair play, that looks really good. Nice to see something a little bit different. I do love that type of Porsche seat 8)
  5. That's easily 10 years ago. I remember that....fapping awesome
  6. Boot would be better dude. It will get warm, but unless you load it with 2 Ohms, it should run cool enough.
  7. my dad bought one of those as a cheap run-around after smashing up his old A80, I was horrified at the way it drove, I swear it was no better than a Marina estate Yup it was awful....and it was a 2.0l petrol that did about 3MPG too :(
  8. Yeah I know, I was just seeing which supplier you were using rather than the strength of the clutch. Remember me explaining about Sachs & LUK clutches supplied through GSF not having flat pressure plate fingers? When I was having issues with juddering, we put a GSF kit next to a dealer supplied kit and the two were very different. The dealer pressure plate had the ends of the springs machined flat for a true running release bearing, the GSF one didn't. The dealer supplied friction plate looked better quality too. Just info, tis all. You can choose to ignore if you wish :D No, that's all good. I remember you mentioning about the GSF clutch. I've gone past the point of ordering pattern parts now. False economy in my book. I ordered a pattern ABS sensor for the Golf. I ended up having to sand down the casing to make it fit in the hub carrier!! Good news on the standard clutches torque capability though :)
  9. Montego Estate........yep, I don't know WHAT I was thinking :pukeright:
  10. The Golf has done 130k on what I think is the original clutch. There is no mention of it being replaced in the service history. I was going to replace the flywheel as it had been mentioned in the past, but wasn't sure if it was necessary. I suppose as I'll be in there I might as well change it anyway, as a matter of course. Just checking really what other peeps had done. I'm doing hte chains, as it sounds bloody awful. The clutch has just started to be a bit juddery when you pull away, all though there doesn't appear to be any slippage yet, but as the engine will be out for the chain to be done, I thought I should get the clutch done too. Just going standard genuine clutch kit from the Stealers. I feel no need to fit an uprated jobbie, as I can't forsee any huge increases in power in the short term anyway. Just out of interest, what sort of power/torque will the standard VR clutch cope with? Well, I will bee soon ;)
  11. When changing the clutch in a VR, IIRC someone told me that I need to change the flywheel at the same time, due to them wearing funny. Can anyone confirm whether it is or isn't necessary?
  12. The blue temp sesnor is in the plastic thermostat housing at the front right hand corner of the block, just below the inlet manifold. It sounds like likely candidate for the problem, basically reading a higher temp than it should.
  13. I suspect you'd need a fair amount of mechanical advantage to turn the cups anyway?? Is there any way you can put two driveshaft bolts in place and use a breaker bar to turn the cups?
  14. I've been driving to Gillingham, Kent from Ely, Cambs very regularly during the week for the past year and I've only ever seen 1 Corrado in all that time on the A10/A14/M11/M25/M2. Must be reduced to weekend activity now
  15. ....and a nice gromit where the power cable comes through the fire wall. Don't use crapo RCAs either, and a nice thick power cable. 8 gauge would probably do, although 4 gauge would be better ;)
  16. Your alpine will be putting out more along the lines of 18watts RMS per channel. The RMS figure the important one. The Genesis Series range is very much an audiophile product, and if anything the speakers will be the weak link in the chain. Fit the damn thing, it'll sound lovely.
  17. You should get VAG-com plugged into it. That should give you some idication to the problem. Blue temp sensor is normally the culprit, as it runs on the cold start map continuously and is a common fault.
  18. Check out this thread too....The Forced Induction 16V Thread
  19. Was talking to a mate at work t'other day about a similar app, but it came with a lead that connects to the OBD port. It has all the above with diagnostics as well. It's a lot more, but that is the cost of the adapter.
  20. LOL! It stores the RPM point in EEPROM when you program it, as it doesn't have a permanent live, just switched live off the ignition. :dorky:
  21. Andy, the 288s have like 40% more braking area than 280s, so WILL make a substantial difference over the 280s [/2p]

    Dans 92 G60

Fluck me Dan, they look awesome!!! I need your address actually, as I forgot to give Tom the standard centre caps, sorry I think I must have been
  23. So he can afford $1.2million for the car but not the $150 for a fitted handsfree kit, or indeed the $30 for a bluetooth headset....c0ck

    ABF eaton

Was it actually ever plumbed in though, or was he running it N/A? Yeah, Ben didn't have the charger plumbed in at that point, which was a shame really.
